Let’s get going. The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server takes up to two Intel Xeon 1st or 2nd Generation Scalable processors. The socket type is an LGA3647. Please note, you do have to have an updated BIOS to use a 2nd generation CPU. In general, we recommend keeping your system on the latest BIOS and firmware release. Below are some of the CPUs we recommend. We break it down into 3 categories: Low End, Value, and High End. We will also show you how to properly remove your old processors. Be careful not to accidentally hit the CPU pins when taking out your old CPU. Also be careful with the old thermal paste. The paste can sometimes flake off and end up inside your CPU pins. We will show you how to handle your CPU and avoid these mistakes. We will also install a CPU upgrade and go over step by step instructions from start to finish.
