You have HPI, Spark, Ignition Model, TSM, Matrix, Neo and the various high quality kit makers like BBR and Redline. Ixo have their PremiumX which is pretty decent and Minichamps have their Evolution series.
God that 911 GT1 is gorgeous. Maybe my favourite Le Mans car. Seen the road car version at goodwood, they really are stunning in the flesh. I've got the 1998 winning one but it's minichamps, reasonable but your hpi is a stunner. Especially with the removable rear panel. Really impressive panel gaps too. I rate hpi too. Also, rambling now but fun fact - the 1984 NewMan porsche was the last car to win with only 2 drivers. It also won, (the very same chassis no117) in 1985. Recently got the 1984 model, ostensibly by spark, but actually a magazine cheapo version. You have to watch for that - ckmodels are terrible for it. It's not "usual spark quality" you liars!
I bought a 'Spark' Mazda 787 #55 LM winner and the eBay seller even quoted the part number of the full quality version, but when it came it was the cheapo magazine one. Needless to say I filed a "not as described" refund request!
Mark Porthouse Too right. I got the same model recently. It was defective but I got them to send me a replacement and I got lucky; it was reasonable. Already had an ixo of it and wanted a better one - well it's better but just barely. Don't know why spark would make 2 different quality versions. At least brand it differently. Totally dishonest.
Nice little selection there. Love that R33 skyline, lovely model. Problem with videos like this is you add to your wishlist! Got a couple of hpi mclaren f1s they're lovely. The orange short tail and a jgtc longtail. Awaiting an hpi Toyota ts020 at the moment. Have the silver le mans winnning Sauber by spark, very nice it is. The winner can be expensive but who wants the other car. Luckily got it from an online retailer rather than an eBay scalper - seen it advertised for £200!!! Shame on you trax models! You can see hpi and spark got the proportions right. Don't bother with the minichamps of the C9 it's not right. Really quite enjoy your videos must check out your website; it's a good idea. Cheers
Nice collection there! Are all of the HPI racing resin models? or did they make metal diecast ones as well? The C9 and XJR and 956 looks diecast with the removeable engine cover.
All HPI models were resin. That's a good point about the engine covers ... I really can't tell. I'm tempted to think that the engine covers might be diecast metal (as opposed to diecast resin) - they have a bit of weight about them.
