Man this gotta be the best and most realistic video of a scale rally race I’ve ever seen! Wow! That’s freaking impressive! It felt like if I was watching the real deal!👌😍👉♥️👍Damn you a good driver!
That's really heart warming mate! Many thanks! 😊 That is my goal, getting the scale rally car to do the scale rally stage in FPV. This is such a beautiful track and covered in snow was a real challenge! 😉 I have a playlist with my favourite locations, might wanna check it out if you haven't already 😉 ru-vid.com/group/PLauwAesgCcRt18QDAJZXoEULpuY8WznBi
This is the most jealous I’ve been in a long time 😢 Thank you for taking the time to add a map, count down, and for giving us a first person view of this. I love this so much. Thank you
Thanks mate! 😊 Welxome to my channel then, as this is my current standard format of videos! 😀 I add the map to give some more context and then mix the camera angles. I usually have a few external and the onboard. I cut it down to 3-5 laps and I try to find s good one to get the time and see if I can improve later 🙂 This track is really the pathways of a miniature golf course. When I started with FPV I also started looking for some narrower tracks to improve the scale appearance and I fo6nd that the adventure type golf courses usually had some really nice pathways... 😁👌
Thanks! 😊🙏 For sure is! If I designed my own track, I couldn't do much better than this. I'd just change the sign to 'FPV RC track' instead of 'Miniature golf'! 😄
Thanks mate! 😊 Same here! These are my main two intrests 😁 Sliding around, getting it to turn, staying on the road (preferably) 😅 Super nice feeling. Stay tuned, I got plenty more vids similar to this from various locations! 😉
Thanks! 😁 it's really amazing driving around in "my own little world" so to speak. It's someone elses venue of course but if I ever would build an RC track, this is what style I'd go for... 😀
@@rc_michi I highly recommend it! an analog setup will work, but a digital one will give a lot more opportunities still. I changed this summer after I got to test the car of @mrcrally263 (might wanna check out his channel aswell). OK, so I didn't have the worlds greatest analog setup, but I found the used DJI v1 not too expensive due to not being compatible with O3 air unit but still a huge step up from my fatshark attitude. especially regarding image not flickering about so much and also resolution of course. :D Feel free to ask if you have any more questions! :)
One of the problems, my friends and I face when driving our RC cars is terrain/soil conditions ,that are destructive to our cars. Sandy/dusty/muddy conditions. I love how clean the ice seems to be.🤠
Spot on mate! It's slippery and tricky just like gravel, but you basically blast the car free of dirt as you go! 😃 *I usually apply some water dispersant spray before the run, to have it in all crevices. *Afterwards I give it a little shower to melt all the ice and snow fast, to keep it from adding more moisture during the otherwise slow melting process. *I use air pressure to get the water off quicker. *Lastly you can prime with some water dispersant so that it's ready for the next run. Ok there's a few steps, and I'm basically cleaning it between each run, but it's mainly to keep it from rusting.. 😁😉
Thanks! 😀 Yeah, this is a truly amazing track. Has the nice flowing bends, lined with hige rocks and also some crests and stuff like that. Way too good track to only play miniature golf on it... 😅
I search google maps for these places. Adventure miniature golf, daycare (lanes for childrens bikes), stuff like that. There's also traffic playgrounds. Kids are supposed to learn basic signs and rules in a small town like road network. Usually containing crossroads, a roundabout, speed bumps etc. Scaled for tricycles and smaller bikes. I approve... 😁
Thanks mate! 😊 I try to copy full scale rally. Some little info on the "stage" to start with, then a lot of onboards and some external shots. I do slow motion when I can to try to capture the extra nice details! 😀 I made a playlist with my top spots that you can check out if you wanna see more. Editors choice 😁
Thanks! 😊🙏 I think it adds to the fun with the nice surroundings. And the fact that there's not only packed lanes together also means that the character of the road is a bit more natural. When looking at the map, it's basically a big triangle where the straights aren't completely straight. This creates a different driving experience compared to normal RC tracks. 😉
Thanks mate! Yeah it's so much fun. Did you check my video with DVR from my dji goggles? That's exactly what I see in the live feed when I drive with the dji goggs! 😀 Here's a link if you wanna check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k1tW5kifeXY.html
Thanks! 😊🙏 It's an adventure minigolf course. I think the environment is so nice there. A bit tricky to avoid all the rocks in the summer and the snow banks were really hungry for small rally cars that day.. 😅 But when you nail it, it's unbeatable! 😃
Thanks!😊 Do it, it's great! 😉 I think @KPOPRC is doing such a build now, check his youtube and facebook and what not. Also check @JIPPERR_RC who makes really nice stabilizing gimbals and puts in different builds. I currently just mounted it solid in the car. It works good as long as the ground is rather smooth. But for crawling I think you might wanna have a look around you some more? My analog setup: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iE9ssnUIbGs.htmlsi=P1DWY2FPiBwrshIk There's also this Facebook group: FPV RC Cars Should be some more info on there if you want some more inspiration 😉😁
Thanks mate! 😊 It's at a miniature golf course. I "borrowed" the pathways. it's such a nice scale environment and * really like the flow of the track 😁
Thanks mate! 😊 This was a challenge, for sure!.. 😅 The difference between the hotlap and the spin in the end of the vid, probably about a centimeter. Sooo slippery.. But fun! 😁
@@JoeOvercoat Totally, I mean the vid has to end some how, right? 😁 The first half of that lap was faster tho. Would have possibly been a new record 🙄 Wanna go back there and have a go with my dji setup, see what I can do... All of the southern parts are just throwing the car back and forth as I recall it. Over the hump bridge, past the rocks, thru the dip. Good fun! 😎
Thanks mate! 😊 I mean I really like the fact that it is real. I put the oil on the diffs, not just adjusted a slider a bit. It makes it a bit more special in a way 😄 The down side is that it makes is more difficult for ppl to xhallenge me on my "rally stages" 😅
Thanks mate! 😊 I think it's so much fun, and in winter conditions it's quite tricky but feels kinda real. Lower grip -> slower speed so you can experience the surroundings a bit more. More time to plan driving.. 😅 Try it, it really changes the hobby! 😉
@@Weekend-Driver no prob! And you awesome dude! I’ll definitely give it a try! Looks like a blast for sure! Would love to try this on my rwd drift cars for sure.
@@modernart86 I was gonna try my hpi RS4 with drift tires and the FPV but I had a lot of problem that later turned out to be a cable broken inside the insulation.. I should also try drifting again at some point 🙂
Thanks mate! 😊 It was a bit frustrating with the super low grip, but I thought I'll stay with these tires for the sake of the video, should look good.. 😁
Thanks mate! 😊 It's all enabled by the use of FPV goggles. It just opens up a new world of driving possibilities. I would have had to run behind the car if I didn't have the goggles and I'm not good at running and driving at the same time... 😅
Yeah, tell me about it! 😁 Now rhat I'm starting to get the hang of it, it's really great. And the amount of places where I can drive has really increased, not having to see the car or being high up for the overview. 😊
Best RC car video ever seen, still wondering why there is no VR controlled RC car yet similar with the VR controlled drones. It appears RC cars are not following new technology trends..
Thanks mate!😊 Yeah, I can only say "I dunno" 😅 This is great in a lot of different ways, one is that I can make a quite interesting track in a relatively small area because the road doesn't have to be that wide. Might not be super easy all the times due to weather conditions but it's doable and it is exciting. Also you can find these "accidental" driving opportunities, like this track (an adventure golf course..) this would not have been possible to drive unless running behind, and I wouldn't dream of doing that in these slippery conditions with all huge rock to fall on. There are of course some adaptations that would make the FPV driving experience even better, like audio. No audio has got to be an optimization for drones. so there's work to be done. I just hope My and others vids can help demonstrate that to more people so that it can actually start happen... Then I can write "Influencer" on my CV.. 😊😂
@@Weekend-Driver I wanted to keep it simple for teardowns as the xv01 is a chore to do maintenance on. I think I’ll pick up a tt02 or another chassis to do the fpv setup. Do you mind me asking how much your setup cost?
@@Bad1flip Ahh, you might wanna take a look at this channel for a nice TT-02 FPV setup: @JIPPERR_RC In this video I was still using my analog setup. I had my old fat shark goggles that I bought new as a kit with a video transmitter for 250 USD. I later bought a set of used analog box goggles for about 40 USD and also some used camera and video transmitters for another 40 USD. I bought my dji digital fpv system for about 450 USD and new that would have been around 1000 USD. so basically it ranges from 100 USD to 1000 USD. The main feature with the dji I'd say is the signal penetration. it's incredibly good. The analog has a lot of noise if there's some foliage and that's a common theme for the places I drive. Where as the main feature of the analog is that it's really cheap used and makes it less resistant to get started. Also check this video of mine where I have swapped to the digital gear, the in-car shows the exact live feed I see when driving: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k1tW5kifeXY.html
@@Weekend-Driver thank you for that detailed response! I figured, I priced out setups and was looking at 600-$1k. I’ll check out that channel. So I was inspired by this channel a couple of years ago by “Ji Hoon Jung” he has a few videos of him racing a buddy (both using fpv) with xv01s. It’s pretty cool, check it out when you have a chance. He even added eurobeat music from Initial D for his mini touge battles 😂
@@Bad1flip Ahh! I've seen them, I also think they're great! 😊 I'm so jealous he's got an opponent. I think it adds some action to have another car to chase. I went abroad to find a buddy to drive FPV with (and I found a bunch to be fair, but still). @mrcrally263 was running dji, I was on analog and you can see how I'm lacking confidence when I can't see... lots of bushes and trees to eat the signal 😅 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3S5Ik89Q3Kc.html
Thanks mate! 😊 I can admit that it was even more eventful IRL... 😅 So slippery, I had at least one moment per lap.. But the corners I made, such a nice feeling! 😁
Thanks mate! 😊 Pls subscribe and have a look on my other videos 😉 They all share this common theme, I just try to find new locations or perfect old ones all the time. Cheers!
Thanks mate! 😊 Yeah, I think FPV is really fun. A game changer when it comes to places to drive for sure. I had maybe 2-3 places that I liked to drive line of sight. I probably have 20 that are possible within 1 hour radius and 5 that are really good 🙂
you gotta show high-def onboard with a gopro or something, the live feed is not good, and dont let the car do 600mph at scale...we still see in our speed even though we are in a drone so make it realistic. This is the ultimate setup you have here!!!
Thanks mate! 😊 I really think it's a nice setup and great driving experience. 🙂 The live feed was far worse then this, the runcam2 on the roof is only recording for the vid. I like it's shape, being flatter than a gopro. I've also seen the insta360 GO cameras being quite small and powerfull stab as well. Since making this vid I've changed to digital goggles and they have a lot better signal penetration so I can see a lot better in even more places now! 😀
Super cool video! Since you are using FPV then you can time your laps with an IRC lap timer. I’m going to put FPV on my truggy right now thanks to you!😂👍🏽
Thanks mate! 😊 I'll have to google the IRC lap timer then 😉 I think it's super fu to drive like this. It requires the road surface to be quite smooth unless using some stabilizing device. Otherwise it's tricky to see things far ahead and prepare. Give ot a go and let me know how you find it! 🙂👌
Thanks mate! 😊 It truly is! This day was super slippery but sometimes I just nailed the lines, even just a couple of corners at a time, but that feeling was really great! And now I have even better goggles with better range and penetration! 😉
Thanks mate! 😊 It's a really nice experience! I used analog FPV gear when making this video. I have since switched to dji digital FPV and it's even better! Digital has better image and far better signal penetration. Analog usually gets a bit worse reception when going behind bushes and stuff, but cheaper to try.. 🙂
@@Weekend-Driver - When I saw 'HPI', I recognized that name as RC so I had to check it out. '80s and '90s I had gas on and off road, electric on and off road. RC-10, HPI... Had a great time with all of that. Now, with all of the FPV gear, it seems really awesome. I race in the SCCA with a Spec Racer Ford.
Thanks mate! 😊🙏 It was very slippy and tricky but when getting the slides to start and end where I wanted, is truly amazing. To get a good time, the car needs to pointed in the right direction before the turn, but only a bit to much in the snow bank just turns the it around instanly. So it's also about managing the risk. Atleast the snow banks doesn't damage my "prestine" bodywork... 😅🤣
Thanks mate! 😊 Yeah, it's such an amazing feeling when managing to connect the corners and get a good flow going! 😃 I like all driving but this type of narrow roads are my favorite. More like full scale back roads! 😁
Yeah! It's a bit more tricky to find the best conditions but when it's cold like this, the snow is light and doesn't build up in the car. Then it's really awesome! 😃
I'm not sure I've seen them available for this scale. I saw a little business in gernany that made them for the landmax chassis but that's a larger chassis. If I go to a 10th scale, it's gonna be more difficult to get the FPV gear in and the only shells I've seen are a bit not so great in the shape. Do you know of a where place where I could buy them?
Driving on a large area is easy... but when there are curbs and you have to stay inside the track, that's real driving... in any case you can manage very well. good and it’s beautiful to see 🤩
Dude this is actually sick idk ima about to check so dont correct me if he did bc ima check rn but it would be sick if you did on of these but with like a udr in the desert
Thanks mate! 😊 I'm glad you asked! That's my thing, I have a live camera and goggles, same as is used for drones. This means I can drive the car as if I was sitting in it! I think it's a really great experience!😁 FPV - First Person View, just like in the video games. More or less all content I have posted over the past 3 years would not have been possible without it. A couple of months back I swapped to digital system with great image quality. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k1tW5kifeXY.html The images you see from inside the car in this vid is exactly what I saw when I was driving it 😀 Here's a video that shows the camera stuff (and more...) on the chassis if you wanna have a look :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iE9ssnUIbGs.html
That's what I thought too.. 😅 We had -10°C last weekend so I was worried about it freezing and removed the fan. I figured the cold air would do the trick but that didn't work. I got the overheating warning. I have it in a housing so that's probably not helping but still. but yeah, as long as the fan is on it seems to work just fine 😉
@@Weekend-Driver I have RC boats and have been wondering why someone doesn't create a water cooled system on a car by using a tiny radiator and water cooled marine ESC and motor cooling jacket. 🤔
Thanks! 😊 Yeah, there are some really amazing places I can drive with FPV! I've made a playlist with my top spots, check it out here: ru-vid.com/group/PLauwAesgCcRt18QDAJZXoEULpuY8WznBi I think this could really be a thing! 😃
Thanks! 😊 It was so incredibly slippery but I was quite happy with the driving anyway. A few corners that just worked perfectly. Such a nice feeling! 😁
Thanks! This is a minigolf course where the pathways are making it a quite interesting lap. A lot different than most real RC tracks and also the sensation of driving FPV. I really like this type of driving as well. And it was incredibly slippery with slicks... 😅
Thanks mate! 😊 I know, this is a completely new way of experiencing my RC. I'm using goggles (sort of like VR) but I get live video sent from a camera mounted in the car. It's like playing a game really! 😀
I don't think the steering rod will be the best solution, I think more like a gyro with a separate servo for the camera or a camera gimbal. The thing is I only look thru the windscreen because the side windows aren't transparent enough and I already see all of the windscreen without turning the cam. I just try to move my eyes instead. I'll link the onboard from my digital dji setup, this is what I see when driving and being on gravel it's gonna be even faster. When seen from the outside I don't think it looks so overly fast? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k1tW5kifeXY.html
I have no experience with the nitro. And I have very limited experience at all of other nitro RCs. Seems so much easier to have a power solution that just works. On my kyosho DRX it worked fine until I put the body on, then it would go insanely hot. Whenever it was running, someone would come along and ask some question and I'd speak for a few sentences and then it would be running too rich and stop. After brushless and lipo I'm having hard to motivate anything else in scales where you couldn't fit a gasoline engine. Bit if notro is your thing, then maybe it's a good choice. I really like this chassis :)
@@Weekend-Driver The overheating is simple. Gotta cut vent holes in the bodywork. Rst of it is just fine tuning, and with a good engine, they tend to not need much of that either. I was just doing some nitro fpv flying earlier today. OS FT-120 Gemini II on the airplane. Gonna upload a video tonight...have a vid from last week already up on my channel. been a hot minute since I've fiddled with cars, but they start my love affair with hobby grade RC going back literally 20 years to my middle school days. I love those little engines! To me the fact it has an engine in it is more grin factor than any objective performance superlatives brushless could ever bring to the table. The engine, for me anyway, is half the point of it. And I'm chuffed to bits HPI still supports maniacs like me!
@@TestECull It's truly great that the hobby can please so many variations :) For me it's more the other stuff, the chassis or just understanding what the car will do. I don't care about the power source, as long as it allows me to get the car where I want it. Back in the day I didn't wanna cut the windshield open, but for the videos and FPV I still had to do it on the electric so... 🤷♂😆 Also, glad I didn't scare you off that easily, proves that you can handle the nitro ;) Let me know when you get the car and how it drives. I always found the standard servo to be a bit slow, but then again, not unheard of in RTR.. I like to get under 0,1s to 60º to feel that I can counter-steer and then un-counter-steer fast enough. Shocks have a nice feeling from the factory.
Cool concept!!! I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone do this yet with how long FPV has been used with drones and planes. I'm sure vibration is an issue.
Thanks! 😊 Yeah, I think it's so much fun, I'm also surprised it hasn't quite taken off yet. I think there are some adaptations needed like getting live sound and/or maybe augmenting stuff on the screen like a rev counter for instance. Vibrations can be an issue, but it depends a lot on the surface really, this is smooth paving stones and just a thin layer of snow/ice so it's super slippery, but not that much vibrations. I also like tarmac in the summer for that reason. Here's a link to a vid when I'm on gravel. The in-car footage is my actual driving view and you can see it's a bit bumpy.. But it was still super nice!😄 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k1tW5kifeXY.html
Thanks mate! 😊 I mean if you can drive a sub with an Xbox controller, it should be possible to drive an RC car, right? 😅 (sorry for my sarcasm... 😄) I haven't really looked into it, I think I'd prefer to drive the Xbox with the RC remote really. I'm quite happy with a steering wheel and the trigger throttle so I just run as is. Also a PC steering wheel would add realism but it would be much less mobile so, great for an adventure venue event kinda thing, but maybe not for my vids as I'm also on set to fiddle a bit with the camera and stuff. It's basically a normal RC car with the addition of the live video system of an FPV drone (First Person View) I just printed a mount for the camera and chucked it in there! 😁
Thanks mate! 😊 For sure this was treacherous conditions! Really slippery, but then sometimes I get this flow when it just works and it's amazing! 😃 Very rewarding! 😁
Hmm, first of all I think this car is amazing. When I first got it I was very impressed by the speed, suspension, looks and quality. At that time I already had some experience driving RC since I was a kid and compared to what I remembered about those cars, this was far better. If you're starting from scratch now, you need to anticipate som crashing and consider spare parts availability. If you have a way of sourcing those I don't see a problem. I'd consider the plastic steering knuckles and the way the front body posts are mounted (very close to the edge of the bumper holder) as weakpoints. I've made some reinforcements there. The steering can be filled with snow and there are some optimizations that can be made. I tend to do stuff with any car I drive but I think this is very capable out of the box. Plenty of other people also really like these cars. If you like the scale looks combined with good performance and the rally type of cars, you'll probably have a lot of fun with this 😉 If you need any more tips and tricks, just let me know 🙂
This is excellent! Great job! What an incredible course. Are you using a gyro? I imagine that for FPV you want a very stable-handling car. Your WR8 looks very comfortable with the tail out. A twitch, unstable car seems like it would be much more difficult to drive FPV vs 'normal'.
Thanks mate! 😊 It's not my course, it's the pathways at a miniture golf course. I only spotted the opportunity.. 😉 No gyro. I have changed the springs to make the front end a bit stiffer compared to the rear. I run heavier weight oil in the front diff than the rear. I also changed the center diff to make it a bit more like an FWD. I have made a video about it, not as much action as this one but a bunch of information in it. Here's a link for reference: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Z-yWshMLkg.html Front drive/brake boas will make it go really straight. I have to throw it in a bit aggressively to get the rear out. Fepending on how much the bias is offset, it'll be easier to get the rear back in line or it will stay out. You just gotta match a nice speed to the corner and it's really beautiful! 😁 This was on the 109747 gymkhana tires, it was really slippery and I had a lot of visits in the banks.. 😅 But yeah, I agree that an inconsistent snd nervous car would be more difficult to drive. But I like them calm also when driving line of sight 🙂
the speed in the vid does not seem ludicris, do you have it turned down? Or is that just the speed you can do on snow...running the snow conditions on older Gran Turismo game right now...cant beleive how fast you can go on snow/dirt
Yeah, this is the speed I can do with the cut slicks on the snowy road. But getting more grip than this, it would start to go too fast for scale I think. So while it's a bit annoying, I still don't wanna change too much. A bit more grip would add consistency perhaps. I could use a bit more of that in these conditions. The feeling when it works is great but just a little touch in the bank changes the path a whole lot... 😅
Thanks mate! 😊 This is what I do mostly on the channel, it's my little sub-genre in RC. Feel free to check my other videos as well of you liked this one! 😀
Thanks mate! 😊 This was the best lap time in winter conditions. I haven't been there this winter. I do have a fasternlap recorded during late summer. Here's a link :) m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HSttpPaYQcM.html
Do you drive this course with virtual reality like camera on the car and headset or do you have a driver stand that is raised by helium, or is it way up in the top of a 250 year old fir tree. Camera view totally awesome, complete , ok totally "far out". If it is virtual what is the system you're using and how does it work.
@@Thom-q1c Yes! its like virtual reality. I'm using the same stuff drone pilots use but they usually refer to it as FPV (First Person View). There are plenty of different systems out there. This vid I drove with analog FPV gear. I recently switched to dji digital fpv and its a huge difference in image quality and also signal penetration. The area close to the blue container was always giving me a noisy image. I could go, but it's much nicer and gives more confidence when the image is great all time. I can recommend you to watch these two videos (If you like it you can also subscribe and watch all of them of course...) In the first one, the in-car footage is the exact view that I'm driving with. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k1tW5kifeXY.html In the second one I show my analog FPV setup, under the body shell. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iE9ssnUIbGs.html
@@Thom-q1c Great to hear! For this type of driving it's not required to have a wide road so you could squeeze it in among the other tracks! ;) My camera is mounted solid to the chassis so I refer smooth roads. I also know that you can put the camera on a gimbal to stabilize the view. Weighs a bit more but really increases visibility by a huge chunk! For bumpier tracks it's a real game-changer. Check @JIPPERR_RC here on youtube for the gimbal stuff! :)
I am trying to build an FPV (but on a screen not with goggles), what is your exact setup? What transmitter did you use? I'm a complete newb so I have no idea where to start. Was looking into dji o3 air but apparently they don't sell just a receiver to plug into a screen. Any help would be really welcomed.
Most my vids were done with an analog setup. I usually put it in the video description if you wanna know about a certain vid. I've had my fatshark attitude goggels in 90+% of the vids. Most recently before the switch to digital I used a Foxeer Falkor camera and an ImmersionRC 60mW vtx. Lately I did switch to dji fpv v1 goggles and a Caddx Vista / Nebula pro combo and it's a lot better image quality. Dji really has the best penetration and that helps a lot. Some places wasn't possible to drive well with my analog setup. Maybe updating that to some modern analog gear would have been good too but it would have probably been a similar price tag as this used digital gear I got instead. You should have a look at the FPV RC Cars fb-group: facebook.com/groups/306329973035092/ I'm not that good at how to get a screen connected, I know I can mirror the goggles screens with a USB-c to USB-c cable and some app, but that means getting the goggles which are quite costly, so there might be better options. Also if you don't need the penetration of digital, you can achieve a lot on good analog as well I think. But on most places I drove with analog, there were always one or two corners where there was some tree or something making the signal go bad and there would be some taking chances... 😅
@@Weekend-Driver Yeh I am interested in the better image quality of digital, but I'm trying to dodge having to buy the goggles which are seriously expensive and headache inducing. I like that dji o3 air unit comes all in one package and apparently its very high quality, and I found some cheap second hand DJI N1 Controller, but I don't know if they work together. Also, I don't even know what power source to use for the DJI o3 air unit. All I know is that I want to keep it separate from the RC battery. 😥
@@k9px Usually in the drones they power off the same battery so I'm thinking theres a wide range of input voltages. Try google "dji o3 input voltage" and they might state it in number of lipo cells. I'm powering mine off the 2s battery of the car. I just soldered on a second connector on the esc power leads, via the good ol' fatshark filter board (basically a capacitor) to the vtx. I like to have it like that, so that I get the lipo cut off feature of the esc and so far I haven't really noticed any problem with it. :)
Why on earth did they discontinue this model?!! I have both the Super Nitro RS4 & Super Nitro Rally which are both tastefully modified with cnc aluminium and Carbon fibre parts im converting to brushless but I'm still getting myself one of these to add to my very large rc collection! 🙄
Yeah I really liked the Ford Fiesta shell. Especially the 2011 version with the pointy head lights before the face lift. At least the WR8 chassis is available but with now its with the Subaru Impreza 2001 shell (same as they had for their super nitro cars I think). The CEN Ford Puma shell also has the same dimensions as the WR8 and is really pretty! I think most scale shell for this size car out there these days :D
I almost exclusively drive FPV these days. It's not possible to see these tracks from a single vantage point and it's easier keeping the car ln a narrow road with FPV. I add [FPV driving] to the title of the video when driving with goggles. It's such a nice feeling seeing thru the windscreen and it enables driving in so many nice places 😀 Did you check my playlist of top spots? All FPV.. Full poäng! 😃 If you know, you know!
looks like fun! 😀 you should added a bit more sounds like antilag start and the countdown :) i also made some RC adventure videos with my ford bronco and M41 boat from traxxas i hope you give it a watch 😁
Sure thing, FPV is great! 😊 I did add some realistic sounds to one vid, but it was tideous work. Was really tricky to match it properly. Have a look at the result here, see what you think: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l5-ROqXtVLM.html
