This is what I hear, out on the nose of the engine in a Siding waiting on another train on a cold night with snow on the ground with the stars out in the middle of nowhere. Lol
I love the many sounds of a GEVO and its GEVO-12 engine. Great video. Question, did you use an external microphone to record this and if so what model?
Hmm this is the same loco and same engine but why the sound is different?.example i hear IAIS GE ES44AC Tier 3 when startup but the sound seems good but if i hear other gevo loco such from up and bnsf the sound was different.can you explain this sir?.thx a lot!
I honestly have no clue what you just said... What I got out of that is that the image does not match the sound you're used to hearing? If that's what you're asking, every unit doesn't sound the same at all times.
Locomotives generally have different idle modes. Fast idle, slow idle, and even extra slow idle for fuel consumption. Sometimes they will run in fast idle for warming up or running the compressor; keep in mind that there are a variety of GEVO models, and they do act a bit differently. Some don't seem to need to rev the engine as much when using the air compressor, etc...
