I have this frame, does this use 4 bars, I have never seen a frame that uses 4. I put the three on and omgosh the material was high so now I see the bar holds down the to material. I have been racking my brain for weeks to figure out how to lower the material, I see why I didnt have a 4th rod.
It isn't an "old" way as it is still used by a lot of people. That is our preferred method at Handi Quilter even though there are many options available.
There is a 4th bar. The finished portion of the quilt rolls under that fourth bar, up onto the bar under the machine. This keeps the weight of the finished quilt off the base of the machine.
