HR Basics: Protected Classes 

Yes where it applies to religious angle, or health angle. Some people are not comfortable disclosing they have an epi-pen (some people steal them, real shame) but may say they have "preferences" but usually they will make it pretty clear. If someone is vegan, that _may_ be health if they're allergic to common farm animals as well- or eggs- or dairy- and vegan is the easiest way to explain all their health needs. So company lunches, peanuts served? It'd be great to know if someone has such a bad nut allergy that their health could be compromised- and it just sucks leaving someone out every time, so a little kindness could win over employee tenure with just a little compassion and ordering ahead/extra.

@@BlondeDGamer I wish we would just add dietary preference as a blanket protected class. Why force people to disclose the reason for the preference? Besides, unless you're a wine taster it almost never changes your ability to do anything.

Exactly and that is why Affirmative Action is Unconstitutional, and why favoring Woman and privileging them in a wide range of ways under the law is Unconstitutional.

Race is a protected class, blacks would fall under the race category.

no characteristic should be protected, it's snake speak for "if your not on the list you're not getting in"

“No person shall be denied the equal protection of the law nor be subjected to segregation or discrimination in the exercise or enjoyment of his or her civil…” The constitution. HR workers could lose funding for treating different people differently based on race, that would be racism. Racism, including giving special privileges to people based on race, is wrong no matter who the victim is, white, black, anyone. Racism is wrong.

In the video it literally says race is protected.
