この頃の防衛機構は三機のNSG-X（フレスヴェルグ）の襲撃を問題としており X1（青）は前線に大気圏外から弾道侵入してきて荒らし X2（当機）は防衛機構の研究施設への襲撃と破壊工作 X3（赤）は後方部隊を奇襲しての兵站破壊と分担されている事が解った このうちX2がこちらの研究進捗を把握しているような先読みをする為 情報漏洩などの懸念は一旦置き、そのまま裏をかいて罠を張ることにした 「最新鋭試作フレームアームズ及びその新装備の動作テストを行う」 果たして情報そのものは正しかった その機体がまさに対NSG-X用に開発されたYSX-24バーゼラルドの一号機 新装備が対TCSバリア用弾頭と増加装甲（スラストアーマー） コレを囮として誘き寄せたNSG-X2を目標とした実戦による性能評価であるというだけで ……というお話ですねバックストーリーは ちなみに撃退には成功し喧伝にはなりましたがシステムリブートによる強制パージでスラストアーマーの稼働データ記録が失われるというハプニングも…

多分トルース・ロックヘッド、彼はこのゼルフィカール先行試験仕様のパイロットとして各地を転戦しつつフレズ達と戦っていたとストーリーで語られている。因みにそのゼルフィカール先行試験仕様は後にゼルフィカールGA→ゼルフィカールNEの順に改修を受けたとされている。そしてそのゼルフィカールNEは月面プラントでの最終決戦で････。

後もう一つ因みにこのゼルフィカール先行試験仕様のベースになってるバーゼラルドは一番最初に作られた試作1号機で量産仕様と比べ性能が高いがその分操縦性が悪くかなりのじゃじゃ馬、更にABSAと呼ばれるTCSとは別系統のバリアフィールド発生装置を装備していたがエネルギー効率の問題(使用すると機体がエネルギー切れで停止する)で量産仕様ではオミットされた。

Hresvelger (Technically Hresvelger=Ater) is the blue and white one with the axe/scythes. Zelfikar/Baselard is the one with the dual guns

a few extra stuff, Hresvelgr is unmanned, Zelfikar/Baselard is. In the first part, the Frame Arm was identified as Zelfikar with all the boosters on, but later on it loses the parts, making it identify as Baselard. If you look at the plastic model kits of them, the Zelfikar/Baselard is just the standard Baselard kit with Extend Arms 02. But in later kits, Zelfikar appears in: Test Color (similar to the one here), Gust Arrow (GA), and Night Edge (NE) which is the final form of Zelfikar/Baselard

Find it hard to believe but the name suggest otherwise. Yes, it says there Baselard but when i looked at the model kit of these 2 mechs, its actually Zelfikar. Apparently that version is a prototype. Thats why it has Baselard's color scheme...just adding a Blast Shield armor on www.1999.co.jp/eng/m/10311999 (check on this site)

it is technically baselard at it's core. The only thing that makes it zelfikar was the extra armor which was supposedly made to mimic those energy sheilds the hresvelgr had.
