One of the lady was shocked and surprised that princess cut too much , then she shouldn't have been participating! Malo si'i anga ma'ulalo. Its all about respecting , mourning and carrying on their duties to honor the beloved who died but most of them were honored to have the princess carry on the fahu's role . Whatever they please with it, but traditionally it's usually braided into a new "kafa" used for tying waist mats

It's a sign of sincere submission of love and respect to Princess Pilolevu, in supporting her charity for those who had lost their hair from the effect of cancer treatment by donating the collected hair to companies that make wigs for cancer patients.
