He gets lot of support from Yash Raj and Karan Johar and his father. Out of their league he never produced a successful film. He has never worked with small time directors because he know he himself cannot drag audiences to theatre, he needs a big director for a successful film. So he appears in a very few films made by big directors only.

@@javed2783 This is so silly. He's done one film with KjO and a first time director, 3 with YRF - two of which were HGOTY because of Hrithik. His father works with him because he's an enormously talented star who is very much in demand by other studios and directors. It's the same reason Rakesh chose to work with SRK before he was big and helped make him big along with YRF and Dharma . Rakesh knows talent which is why he made KNPH with Hrithik - he wouldn't have mortgaged his house otherwise. His previous film before KNPH was with SRK and Mardhuri - under-performed, the one he did after KNPH bombed. KNPH became a huge hit because of Hrithik. RR said he will never direct another actor because he knows Hrithik's worth, though Hrithik will work without him. Hrithik co produced Super 30 with HRX films, so he doesn't even need Filmcraft to produce his own films. Mission Kashmir opened bigger than Mohabbatein with SRK and Amitabh Bachchan and ended up the #3 film of 2000 and Fiza the #10 film of 2000. That's how big a phenomenon he was after KNPH. Look who's directing SRK's next film -Siddarth - the director of Hrtihik's War & Bang Bang - and it's for YRF. I guess SRK can't cut it alone..

@@javed2783 yes there are actors who gradually gain popularity and then big production houses choose them but if Hrithik's first movies was such a blockbuster and since then all the big production houses have been offering him movies why should he decline them? Krrish 3 may not be the best but it was nice try by any Indian director to make an action packed superhero movie. May be in Krrish 4 they will remove the limitation s of 3rd part. But still I can fight with anyone that Koi mil gaya is Hrithik's best movie.

I dont think shahrukh was rattled by his popularity. It was just media sensationalism. Do you really think 1 billion Indians (population of that time) had no more work to do than fantasize Hrithik? It was some teenagers, young people but not all who were crazy and that too not all over India. Kaho Na pyar hai sold only 30 million tickets and was not the biggest hit of the decade. So there is no such popularity you are talking, it was media hype and they intentionally used to compare him with Shahrukh Khan who used to get irritated. Btw Shahrukh did not had a godfather, he came and struggled on his own and found bigger success. Hrithik was flop out of his father's productio films. It was only after Yash Raj offered him Dhoom he made it big with big film banner. From then on he constantly works with big directors/productions to Save himself from flop movies. Out of which he does not have a capability to drag audience of his own in non big production movies which will Shahrukh and Salman have proved they can drag audience with even small time productions and directors

@@v27027 I loved KMG. First saw it as an adult and outside of India. It's a bit derivative and shaggy but also heartwarming and charming and Hrithik gives a great performance as Rohit. Rehka and Preity are good and the music & and dancing are great. I doubt they'd like it though. Krrish is OK, he's very good in it - though Priyanka's character sucks and she's pretty dead eyed in it.
