Once built, HS2’s Curzon Street Station will be one of the most environmentally friendly stations in the world and eventually welcome 9 high-speed services per hour into the city centre. With 7 terminal platforms, it will form part of HS2’s opening phase, with the first services expected to run from West London into the station by 2033, serving around 25,000 passengers a day.
Today’s visit comes as HS2 Ltd prepares to carry out the UK’s heaviest bridge drive to install a box structure beneath the West Coast Main Line near Lichfield. The 6,200 tonne structure, which has been built over the last 6 months, will allow the high-speed railway to pass beneath the main line. It will be slowly moved into place on the back of a transporter vehicle.
Supporting one of the government’s 5 priorities to grow the economy, the construction of HS2 will bring transformational benefits to passengers and communities for generations to come. Currently supporting over 28,500 jobs and having created more than 1,200 apprenticeships, the project will level up communities and connect Britain’s largest cities, delivering fresh education, job and business opportunities across the regions.
The line will also provide much needed capacity for passenger and freight services on our railways, offering faster and more reliable journeys right across the UK. A greener way of travelling will also be unlocked, with every trip being powered by zero carbon energy.

Excellent video although some kind of inset with a map of where your drone is and the direction the camera is pointing in would help identify locations. Not that I'm a RU-vid or drone expert! I used to live in Birmingham but many years ago and no doubt much has changed in that time. Thanks for putting that together

Up to 2:59 seems to be Washwood Heath to Curzon st viaduct. Next is around the triangle junction over M42 M6 area, which is very confusing as no videos of this area explain it with maps. Hint - they are all available via gov.uk website

Was this taken on a Sunday? Very clear images but so few workers on site in such a large area!

Clearly you aren't familiar with construction timescales for major infrastructure projects. It wasn't even authorised by our rubbish politicians until early 2020. And factually you are wrong, the HS2 alignment goes significantly further north to Handsacre in Staffordshire. The trains themselves will carry on to Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster and Glasgow.

You expected it all to be completed within a year? Ludicrous 🤣🤣

Try looking at the Construction of HS2 and it is being construuced up and down on the line of HS2 and is well under construction, I bet it wouldn't of been crap and waist of Money if it had gone to Manchester, but by the way HS2 trains will reach Manchester by joining the existing WCML at Handsacre in Staffordshire

@@peterwilliamallen1063 your own words. HS2 ALIGNMENT. It’s not HS2. In its planned form it was to be NEW HIGH SPEED connection. Familiar with construction far more than you can imagine. I travel up and down the M40 corridor regularly so don’t try to preach the amount of infrastructure that can be seen . Not forgetting that than isn’t seen. This country has longed for better transport links. Simple question. How can it pay for a lorry to come from Scotland to Devon. 👂👂👂
