Neal at his rippingest. This band allowed him to play with no limitations. Every solo was just pure fire. The whole record had a kind of experimental vibe that was ahead of it's time and still kicks ass today.

Most people forget that Michael Shrieve played drums with Santana at Woodstock August 1969. He had just turned 20 years old. He's also a member of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because of his 5 years of work with Santana. Check out his drum solo on "Soul Sacrifice" from Woodstock. His drum kit has only one mounted tom, one floor tom, and two cymbals, a ride and a crash, with his snare and hi-hat. Michael totally rocks this kit!

Neil schon talked about his time with Santana in 72-74. He talked a lot about Santana in that 1985 interview.

Kenny is fucking fantastic. He played with just about every great NYC based rock musician during the 70’s and mid 80’s. Crazy tight player with a great pocket. Perfect for a band like this. His playing with Billy Squier was just spot on.

Right! This is not only some of Neal's abslolute best work, but Sammy Hagar has NEVER bettered or equaled this material and performance. Not even as much as I love Ronnie Montrose (RIP) from the excellent debut MONTROSE record. And definetely not his very homoginized solo career, or his stint with Van Halen. There is so much fire and chemistry between Neal and Sammy it's ridiculous! Peace, from San Jose ♫

I can't sleep but I'm keeping up with the music God bless you all 2021! I'm 65 some call me steely Dan? Not true that was Donald Fagan and Walter Becker and a lot of great talent just skunk Baxter Michael McDonald Pat Simmons Doobie Brothers don't get me started I lived in Santa Cruz mountains! I remember when MTV used to play this concert with some regularity back in the 80s, especially Saturday Night Concerts. Do any of ya'll remember that as well? Every Saturday night at 11 or 11:30pm, MTV would air an hour or hour and a half of a concert by a current rock or pop act. Since SNL sucked at that time, MTV's Sat nite concerts were appointment viewing. Seems like everyday I miss the 80s more and more. I know it ain't healthy, but damn they were good times back then.

I bought all my vinyls in Santa Cruz, CA thats my home town. I would have rocked out to this. Wish they would have come to SC. Thats where I saw Montrose. Fucking awesome, best Sammy I ever heard And Neal Schon is a GOD

Sammy and Neal did get together at one point. It was just before the Chickenfoot project if I remember right. It was called Planet Us. I believe they did one show in Las Vegas. It fell apart for whatever reason. Then Sam hooked up with Satriani and Chickenfoot was off and running.

Absolutely LOVE this performance! I remember seeing it when it first aired on MTV. I enjoy modern rock and even playing in modern rock bands... but the stuff the "kids" are putting out doesn't compare to the "Golden Age" that was the 80s rock scene. These guys were larger than life (and still are)...

Neil Schon is so great. I saw him live at a G3 show at Pine Knob, MI after I saw him play with Journey the night before. He is a phenomenal player with such great tone and melody. And he was awesome with Santana. The HSAS album is great. I really with they would have done more. But, then we wouldn't have gotten the Frontiers album for Journey and Hagar wouldn't have joined Van Halen. rock on!

I was at this Show. Funny thing happend, my buddy got sick and was throwing up in the mens room. In comes security and ask what's wrong, I say he has had to much to drink...we get him out if the stall and walk him to a medical area backstage...we set him in a bed, they tell me come get him after the show.. I stay backstage and see almost the entire show on the side of the stage. Hi five Sammy talk to him for minute...then Security kinda catches on to me...a big dude across the stage is giving me the get out signal....I hide from him in back of speakers on stage. Lol. Had a blast...took my drunk buddy back the next night so he could see the show....Rock on Sammy....one of the best voices in R & R..
