Golf is full of amazing highlights and incredible stories. But Tommy Fleetwood’s is truly unique.
By the end of the Omega European Masters in September 2016, Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood had slipped to world number 188. Such a fall, 9 years into his golfing career, put Fleetwood in a position where many golfers before him ended up leaving the game completely.
Fast-forward just four months, and Tommy won the 2017 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA. Today, heading into the 2018 tournament, Tommy Fleetwood is firmly entrenched in the world’s Top 20, with a Race To Dubai victory to his name and a likely Ryder Cup debut beckoning.
What caused this incredible turnaround? What kept Tommy going when so many have given in in his position before? Who are the people that helped him turn his game around?
We spoke to Fleetwood to get the real story behind this incredible turnaround.

Now look at him. He was just incredible at the Ryder cup 2023. Seems like a really nice bloke with a lot of courage and heart. I love watching him play. I honestly don't watch that much golf but I always look for his scores and follow what he's doing.

Congratulations Tommy.Your story is very inspiring mate.I have played golf for 20 odd years.I got my game to a pretty good level and had some tough times in my personal life and gave up the game for 2 years.I started to play again about 2 years ago.And i have not been able to get back to the player i once was.But i grind everyday and never miss practice. And i am improving slowly and i know if i keep on pushing myself.I will breakthrough and be better than i ever was.I am inspired by your perspective to be not only better but world #1.Although i will never reach your heights i to will break through with the hard work i put in everyday. It just seems like sometimes its not going to happen. But you Mr Fleetwood have showed me to not give up and i to can not only get back to the player i was but even better.Because i have potential i just dont know what that potential is.

Golfers have hardest jobs in sports 🤔 Playing vs physically vs mentally vs environmental change vs strategy
