After all this time, I'VE NEVER, EVER notice that bit! And it was cool and exciting to know the fact that Wanwan slapped that to Mumei's theme.

If I described her design to my friend like that she would look at me and say "what you smokin' dude?"

Her true form is that of a ceramic pot yokai literally named 'Seto-Taishō ', meaning her first form and her theme's name are a pun on this, From Seto to Set, hence the egyptian theme, and Taishō means 'general' so, General Set.

I haven't had any problems with unlocking it. What difficulty and version are you using?

I think you have to beat the game on Normal or higher without using any continues to unlock the Extra stage. The clears on Easy definitely don't count toward unlocking it. The game's also updated to version 1.12 now; while I don't think there were any issues with unlocking Extra in 1.11, it's probably a good idea to just update and transfer your save files over. That said, though, once you beat Normal there's an Extra-Easy mode if you're not up to the challenge of taking on the regular Extra stage.

Sunset blade is her last solo spell before the last words, Floating bridge of dreams is her last spell before last words (but she shares this one with a midget), her first last word is her last solo spell, and the one where all the bosses shoot together is the extras last spellcard (even though that one is shared by every character except Set).

Depends on what you're trying to understand. I feel that this game is pretty friendly with its mechanisms and would be a good choice as a first game if you only care about gameplay. But if you're looking to understand the story as well, it's a safer bet to start with the canon games (Imperishable Night, Ten Desires, and Hidden Star in Four Seasons are the common recommendations here). THPatch does a good job of patching translated dialogue into all of the canon games, making it easier to get into the story. Hollow Song of Birds has a good story (in my opinion), but it assumes you know most of what has happened in the canon games. It also builds upon the fangame series's _own_ continuity, so if you go with this game anyway I'd advise you not think too much about references to anything that doesn't seem to have happened in the canon games.

It's the other way around honestly Mumei's theme is inside Set's theme.

It doesn't matter. During the encounter with Set you technically encounter Mumei as well. In the Extra stage Set is gone, so all the melodies are Mumei's.

Late as hell, but that's what you'd call a "Electric Piano" or commonly Rhodes, typically used in Jazz and stuff.

Well, it's the seto-taishou that Set was possessing. People were throwing wild guesses as to who the extra boss should be, but apparently the question that intrigued the developers the most was 'If Set was sent back to Egypt by Nebet, then what happened to the original seto-taishou youkai he was possessing?' . I was thinking 'If stage 5 midboss was Nepthys, the stage 5 boss was Set, and stage 6 boss was Thoth, the extra boss should be RA. Complete with yet more Yugioh references' myself , but nope (They still got a Yugioh reference in there though). The closest we got to 'bringing the real Set' was the fact that he was still kinda possessing her. That nonspell before the survival has Set saying something like 'Hahaha! You want power don't you!' shortly before he takes over again for the survival spell.

I mean, it's jazzy as heck~
