Thank you. Took me like 3 hours, but I replaced the back camera. Those metal on metal connector wires took me a solid 10 minutes each to snap down. Cant believe my phones not broke (knock on wood). Thanks a bunch!
HTC wants $35 to diagnose and then up to $150 more to replace the battery and the charging port. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!! I'm getting into the whole fpv drone thing and these components aren't any smaller than what I'm learning about with them now. I'm gonna do this on my own and save a ton of money! Thank you!!!

Be very careful when separating the front and back halves! I damaged my M9's bezel a bit because I couldn't detach the clips easily. I recommend going from the top to the left side and finally to the bottom, then hinging the phone open on the right side. You should be able to slide a firm guitar pick all the way down the side of the phone with minimal prying. The pick should be angled downward so it's against the side of the metal back.
At 2.45 what size are those screws ? the eBay pack I got to replace my headphone/ charging port didn’t come with a “T” screw driver that size which is really annoying..... If anybody could help that would be great ....yeah i know what your thinking ....have a good variety of tools before starting a job...but yeah I was dumb and trusted this eBay pack was giving me the right tools and part for the job

Is there a way to take off the front piece where the screen is held without taking apart the entire phone, that being said, where to find the metal framing casing the front? I scratched mine up PRETTY BAD, and y'know how it is with this phone, its gotta look nice.
This is my second HTC, first I had the m8 and the charging port stopped working so I took it in and they said they couldn't fix it. They upgraded me to the m9 this April and now I am having the same problem!!!
I imagine the vibrator motor is soldered to the board on the off chance that it may vibrate itself loose over time - hence the solder to keep the connection tight.
hi.. my unit works fine and i just tried to disassemble it to change the front frame attached to the lcd...i was careful removing all parts until i sliced the lcd when i was trying to remove it from the front frame... i tried to reassemble everything. but when i tried to test the unit, it doesnt power on... but when I charge the phone, it charges and the battery charging icon appears on the screen... what seems to be the steps I went wrong during the re-assembly? thanks.. now i feel bad because all i wanted was to make my phone look better on the outside...
Nice tear down video. I know it was a hassle taking it apart then back plus on camera. Never fixed a HTC M series but HTC by itself just is a long process self repair.
To get this apart, where the edge of the black strip is after you take it off, use something quite thick and hard in the little gap and twist. Then run a plastic spudger around the opening. Easily came apart doing that.
Wow! Impressive. I've never heard of a "daughter board" before. Is there a "son board". :-) I'm not sure how you put all the "connectors on the connectors" back together.
korinne Bagley Nelson It's an older term for people who were familiar with computer hardware before pci slots and form factors became widespread and there wasn't a need for expanding the motherboard's ports. Daughterboards basically are miniature motherboards that go on motherboards to add more slots and/or change the direction of how a card would be inserted into the computer (riser cards for example). As for the naming goes, not sure why they went with daughterboard but it rolls off the tongue better like motherboard does. Not to mention there are terms like "mothership" which denote a central component of something and there isn't anything like "fatherboard" either. English is weird. Then again, motherboards can also be called main boards and daughterboards used to be called piggyback boards as well so there's gender neutrality in that sort of thing as well.
Hi. I have HTC One M9 plus. I dropped the phone but touch screen is working. Only the problem is that is not scrolling down. Should I change the screen or can I fix it?
I have been searching for a video for the framework for the earpiece. I pulled off some kind of copper wires and then had to order a new piece. I have no idea where the frame work is and there are zero videos or links to order these parts. No one has removed this part.
I just replaced the charging port and the speaker module. All went back together well enough except the screen won't come on now. haha. Any suggestions? - Thanks

at 1:17 those to snap on cables that connect to the charge port board the on on the bottom isnt on my m9 but is came with my new charge port is that an issue?
Hi, i replaced the rear housing on my m9 and for some reason my nfc has stopped working? i did not touch and flex cables or fittings aprt from the screws at the top of the phone.. is there any reason this would happen? where abouts is the nfc chip located? the rear housing was purchased from etradesupply online shop so i assume it is genuine or to a similar standard (not that i think this should affect the nfc)... any ideas? thanks

I live in Canada and repairuniverse charging a hefty shipping fee that make's the part as costly as Apple store repair. I would be thankful. I know amazon and eBay got lot of sellers but I don't wanna buy something very cheap in quality. If u will recommend a site or a seller that will make me confident. Thx!
LakhTek Try gadget fix on ebay. Pretty much any screen you order fro any place online is exactly the same screen. Sites claiming that the screens found on ebay are fake or non authentic do so so they can sell you the screen they bought off ebay for a huge mark up. Some ebay sellers put their own mark on the screen some where and have busted a few of these sites buying from them bad mouthing them and then marking up the very screen they bought for as much as 3x. All new screens sold on ebay fro sellers with decent ratings are OEM and come directly fro apple Samsung or who evers factories.
I replaced the Battery of my HTC One m9 but now I got connection problems with the wifi and Bluetooth, the wifi only works when I put the phone close to the router. the Bluetooth doesn't pair with any device. Suggestions?

Wondering how I find a tech that works on HTC ONE M9 in town of 300,000? My screen glass has popped out of frame about 1/8 of an inch. ugh.... 23 months old with lite use. Battery probably expanded and will need replaced... ?? IDK...
This phone is a pain in the ass. Just did my first one and the repair was successful. It's mostly just time consuming. This is a good video besides the fact you can tell the phone was previously opened (via the skipping). One thing the tutorial fails to mention, is the use of adhesive on the camera, which sticks it to the back cover/housing, the use of adhesive under the motherboard & the use of adhesive under the sim/memory card trays. Failure to mention the use of adhesive under certain parts, doesn't give people the heads up that there will be resistance when removing these parts, which could result in damage. Especially the motherboard!

what do you mean by saying its hard to tell that the phone was opened before? u bent one side of it, where the sim tray is and it quite obvious to spot it!!!
Not as hard to replace micro usb port. also if you are replacing the battery, once you remove the motherboard the top area with the camera doesn't need to come off. which is a good thing. the whole area with the camera look like a pain in the ass to re-assemble.
I manged to brake a zif connector on the top right side when putting it together again after replacing the battery I forgot to fold it back down... :P Dang it to heck :P
The white and blue cables @ 9:53, I only have the blue one. I bought a new charger board because my phone stopped charging (I gave it to my little brother, not sure what he did with it) and the new charger port only has the white connection point - I'm going from charger board white to motherboard blue. Is this okay? Do they both do the same thing? Phone still isn't working, not sure at this point if my retard brother threw the device and it damaged the internals.
I got water inside my M9 so I looked this up to see how easy it would be to take apart and dry it. Guess I'll just put the whole thing in rice and pray for a day instead
at least the sim card tray is finally accessible and not sitting behind the lcd. They probably moved it because of the amount of warranty claims on their rubbish sim readers which meant full replacement of the screen and frame.
You clearly have never fixed a phone before. The second board is so you can easily replace the charging board if the connector fails. It is a very nice design as most phones do not have a separate board for the connector and it's just soldered to the main board thus making it near impossible to replace
The build quality is so low. Instead of attaching everything to the metal shell, everything is attached to the screen making replacing screen and battery hell.
