windows phones are teenager-friendly now btw. vine, twitter, instagram, pandora, snapchat, tumblr, and kik can all be downloaded from the microsoft store.

Yes, yes, and yes. If your music is playing and you wake up your phone, there will be buttons on the top of the screen for pausing, skipping, or going back to the beginning of the song. In the actual music app, just swipe left or right to switch. The large tiles previews your newest email, and you can set that email to preview on your lockscreen. Your calendar shows your next appointment you wrote on your phone. There are also apps where you can pin multiple events on your screen to view.

I have to agree... ..and that "Actor Sudio"'s quality performance when demonstrating Call quality... you had to be there :D (and as always, the fact you try and speak clearly and correctly is really a plus for us non american youtubers.)

Two things: Boom Sound and design won me over from Nexus 5. I have been using the One for few days and as a music lover I doubt I will be using any other phone right now. The sound delivered by the twin speakers is just too good for me to pass. Sprint please hurry with my LTE.

I just got the HTC one this morning. I'm liking the phone, I love the stereo speakers. The camera is not quite as good as my 920. On the same wife network the HTC loads websites a little quicker than the 920. Withat bein said I'm kind of missing my 920 already. It's just so easy to use, well organized, and reliable. Ima use it for a couple days more I'll let u guys know if I end up taking the HTC back.

I'm using HTC one X & Lumia 920, I use HTC as my primary phone for daily use because Android has more applications that I need than Windows 8 phone. However, I like taking photos using Lumia 920 because I really like the performance of it. Windows phone 8 in general is stable and smooth but it lacks some Improvements and shortcuts option.

This video was the one that hooked me on Windows phone platform. Sure it didn't had many apps but it was the lightest and smoothest platform I ever used. Too bad windows phones aren't a thing anymore. I bought my lumia 925 after watching this comparison video. Reliable, easy to use phone and Michael's approval was all I needed. Thanks to Pocketnow for introducing me to Michael Fisher.

If the One had a higher mp camera and WP8, I would consider buying it. I love WP8, its such a better way to organize everything in your life.

Oh, gotta commend pocketnow for their high quality comparisons. I find, of late, the comparisons are much more balanced, with little to no bias interjected. I appreciate the balanced comparisons a lot. Makes me cringe every time I think about the bb10 vs wp8 comparison; what a biased comparison that was. Glad to see pocketnow is going in a direction of neutrality.

I had a windows phone 7 for the past few years, and it was a very smooth experience dont get me wrong. But the fact that I had to use proprietary software was just a big nuisance to me. Im gradually making my move to linux based OS's on the computer and having the freedom to just plug in the phone and transfer my files is just great.

Another great review by you my friend. I personally own a Nokia Lumia 920. The HTC One would definitely be my Android of choice. I'm still not understanding Samsung's Pentile choice for the S4 (as nice as it can be for that arrangement), I guess sales figures don't lie. Popularity or design/software? Love your vids, keep them coming.

I was showing a cousin the video from code.org at full blast on my Lumia 920: my younger brother told me to turn down the volume from upstairs, he could hear it through a closed door as well as different floor.

I used to own the HTC One S until I switched over to an S3...HTC makes very good phones, kind of want to try the new One out. Unfortunately waiting for the S4 to hit the market I am sold on Samsung.

You'll get AOSP development for sure.. and probably cyanogenmod sometime.. but there aren't any promises or certainties. I'd say go for it and get the One, I think the camera will get better in future updates too.

Engadget believes ST Electronics may be the one who sold Nokia’s component to HTC, but I am sure HTC was fully aware who was doing High Amplitude Microphones first.

An ultrapixel is in fact a megapixel, HTC just doesn't want to look bad by saying its only 4 megapixels, and the camera may be good in low light, but so is the Lumia without taking out the extra megapixels, because the focus is software based which can make for an odd picture. Google play may skim through an app, but windows phone actually vigorously test them.

My mistake, s4 release date is on 26th April. This is the date for Europe, I'm not sure what date it will be released in the U.S.

I don't think BB almost died thinking iP is a joke, they have a security model for enterprise that relied on in-house MS exchange servers, which moved to the cloud, and their own BB enterprise server software that also has a huge overhead. (I worked with both). That market dwindled as active sync was initiated on iphones/ipads, allowing secure exchange services in iphones. BB has to redesign their whole ent security protocals. BB don't use active-sync.

for me, it all comes down to the price. A quick search on ebay showed Lumia 920 for around 360€ while HTC came up at around 500-600€. Lumia it is!

This was a hard choice for me, i did however decide to go for the 920 because of the price difference here in Holland. So far i am very pleased, also love the fact nokia devices are unbreakable ;)

It turns out when Nokia popped the cover on the HTC One it was not just similar, but exactly the same component, which was invented and developed by Nokia for their exclusive use. Nokia has applied and was granted a preliminary injunction in Amsterdam against the HTC One, noting it was just another example of HTC’s unauthorized use of Nokia’s inventions, with the company asserting more than 40 Nokia patents against HTC.

@Ray Krisianggi. Nokia didn't almost die because of lack of innovation. Nokia hasn't actually almost died at all. They are huge over seas, known to be a very reliable phone. The Nokia Lumia 920 has many features to fall in love with. From the Build Quality, colourfull designs, beautiful screen, great camera, wireless charging built in, NFC combined with the JBL PowerUp or PlayUp speaker. These are just the hardware features, too. The exclusive apps are a plus.

HTC is definitely the Winer hear boom speakers hands free calling in a car ! And blinkfeed for when you need something to do , and it will be nice to pull a maserati out of you pocket and not a robin reliant .

920 is the best everyday phone I have ever owned. And I've had a few since 1996. It just seems practically indestructible. Just last week, I dropped it from my ear to raw asphalt and a small piece just broke off from the casing. Not to diss the HTC models but they all seem a bit.. flimsy. I can't for the life of me understand why this guy says there are no differences in the build quality.

if you consider that the lumia is 5 months old or nearly 6 it is still a top smarphone and can handle the rivality very good but whee have to wait until the new lumia models comes out and than make some comparison

Had a Lumia 920, kept rebooting 5-20 times a day If I had It connected on 4G. Sent in in for repair, still happend. Another trip to repair centre. Same problem. Then I requested an RMA and got my money back. Ordered a One, hopefully I wont any more problems

So far I'm loving the HTC one. It doesn't look or feel like your regular android phone that's the reason why I actually got it. The main page reminded me of a windows phone. I haven't experienced any Android lag yet, I'm afraid it might creep up on me I don't know it's hard to trust a Android operating system. If it even gives me just a little lag ima b pissed and get my Lumia

Buying from a carrier, 64G is exclusive to AT&T. But you can by the 64G from HTC.COM with the SIM unlocked and put your own SIM in.

ONE QUESTION TO MICHEAL FISHER: Micheal gives the best reviews on this site(no offence to the other guys)personally i think. Do you actually write and correct your lines and print them out and read the papers out in your reviews? Becuase i reckon the language is perfect, as it covers all aspects of the product in various ways.

HTC one. It's not about the phone....it's the app support. Not until windows phone can catch up...u know...facebook app sxxks on windows phone, no candy crush, lots of popular apps are missing But have to say nokia lumia's pic quality is phenomenal. And nokia apps like city lens and maps/gps are awesome.

Anything wrong with that? Super AMOLED screen on the Lumia 900 is developed by Samsung. IPS LCD on smartphones including Lumia 920 was first invented by Hitachi, and now being developed by LG and Sharp. Implementing a technology into a device doesn't mean it's stolen.

True, I own an iphone and Android.. cannot stand the app-centric model. Yes its pretty, but Its also cumbersome and inhibits communication flow, and mapping on iphone is annoying. Although they led the way against tactile buttons, the model leaves a lot to be desired, hence Winphone 8. Im glad there are mor eplayers back in the market, but think Blackberry will eventually fall to the wayside as security on other phones increases for the enterprise markets, unless they have a major breakthrough.

depends on what ur looking for. I agree, HTC one is better, but it's still an andriod, its a demanding OS. WP8 aint demanding, i doesn't requier much in order to run smooth like water. I got a l920 and my friend got a htc one. I've tried both, i personally prefer the lumia, on the htc i still get lag spikes every now and then on some apps, i never do that on the lumia

htc one WP8 version is coming out once microsoft releases gdr3, which has support for quad core, should be around october or november.

My 920 takes a long time to load apps. Coming from the nexus 4 I was quite shocked. I'm used to it now but jesus.

920 dominates with the camera and top of the line apps from Microsoft. Internet Explorer, Office 2013 mobile, xbox live, and xbox music

Hmm, caught in a snafu. The One is only $50 more right now @ Staples, but I like WP8 more than Android. But, Android gets more apps, and the quad-core will have more longevity. Also, the One is slimmer and metal. I was stuck on the Lumia, but now I'm not sure.

I have in fact messed around with lots of Lumia phones running WP7 and 8. i don't see why I should get excited about Windows Phone. I can personalise, add more features and customisation with jailbroken iOS and rooted Android. Lumia 920 isn't my thing. It's too thick and heavy, not to mention lack of customisation, performance, and ecosystem.

So far so Good, not minding Less apps, I have Both Phones Xperia Z and Lumia 920, for most Difficult Situations I used Xperia Z Because of It's Water Ressistant and Love the Color Purple, I even used it on a Shower,,anyway I Have a Black Lumia 920 which is Cool, But For the Camera They are Both Excellent Than any other,,For the Video Stabilization The Lumia Has an Advantage but for the Audio Recording Goes to the Z,, But Overall The Photography Goes to Lumia 920..especially in lowlight.

Launch a contact app on even a JB. Watch the lag. Launch the people hub on WP. Not nearly as painful a wait. Granted, the animation transition is a placebo for actual speed, but yeah, it does transition MUCH better. And the camera is best on Lumia. My red 920 FTW. =)

plus with mycolourscreen (/user/mycolorscreen), you can infinitly modify your andriod homescreen too look like ANYTHING you want, even wp8 tiles. I've seen home screens designed with bubbles and one organized into a pyramid. Its pretty awesome. What you see is what you sell with all other OS'es

I have a 920, but i was interested in the htc one cause it looks beautiful, but i know if i get it ima feel that android lag and cheap feeling UI and then just go back to my Lumia.

HTC One, really changed the concept of a smart phone turning it into a "Super Phone" Named. Which I do like it .. Until Nokia Fix the lags and stability issues .. I'm considering the "One" Badly :D ..

I would have liked to see a bit more on the support programs used when connecting to your PC too? I have a Samsung and it uses Kies which is rubbish and really clunky, whom ever put it together needs to change careers. I'm keen to know how the HTC would work with my PC?

Guys, help me out. I'm coming to the U.S. this summer, so I wanna buy an unlocked phone. I'm choosing between nexus 4 and Htc one. The only thing i don't like about nexus 4 is its camera. HTC one is better overall for me, but should i pay 300-350$ more? for the camera quality, better speakers( i don't care about that much, cause I prefer listening to music on the headphones) and the build quality (don't like the idea of putting the glass on the back of the Nexus 4).Or wait fot the nexus 5?

My biggest problem with android is the fact that all these custom ui's are too heavy and are ruining the super power that comes with the hardware, it really shows, i had n4 and day to day usage the phone was way faster than s4. Even with gpe rom it still wasnt as smooth as n4, and n4 has last gen cpu. im trying out nokia now, we will see if wp8 can turn me into a believer

I used w8 for last month and a bit, whilst it is smooth and minimalistic it is not for me. I ended up changing to nexus 5 and loving it. I do howevber like window 8 and hope that it will keep growing. But I am too invested into google eco system, with gmail and drive google docs etc. and these apps are not great for window 8. its not bad tho. Windows 8 is defo a great platform

Its a hard choice, Ive tried both and Im more used to android but windows works very nice and fluid in the 920 and its screen looks so nice that its a hard choice but the One its leading by the multimedia and screen

the ONE is a sweet phone and it is all light and slim. With this phone it would be a shame to wrap in case BUT it would look awful scratched..

LUMIA 920!!!! The only issue with the lumia, that i have, is that All my friends with galaxies and iphones make take all their pictures with my lumia when we go out! lol

well my friend .. believe me I did :) .. and had some screenshots too .. plus .. the phone is great .. just the system is not .. IE10 lagged alot .. I was using office word and the keyboard started to lag .. and even the app store lagged once or twice with me .. keep in mind too the WAY TOO MUCH overheating .. that even the charger over heated sometimes .. so yea .. it did lag a little bit ;) .. and yea it's not stable at all .. "Nokia" them selves says we have 3G stability issues ..

Ah, I heard about that Microsoft was trying to make a new file system or something similar. That's probably related to this new kernel. I hope the new kernel will be implemented fast.
