Thank you for the video. How would you rate the Alt16’s music/stereo performance? That’s really what I’m wondering. And how would you rate it against an AudioControl X9 with regards to music? Thank you.

It's acoustically transparent, ergo as good as it can be to our ears. So, depending on your disposition, it'll sound as good as it looks. Stereo is a very basic task in audio and is not a problem for such a beast. Buying this for stereo would be a complete waste. They have a stereo version if you don't want anything more.

The new models are coming out with HDMI 2.1 boards we havent seen one yet but are keen to. Those that have the older boards are upgradeable as we understand it.

VNC=Virtual Network Computing. It’s a graphical desktop-sharing system that uses the Remote Frame Buffer protocol (RFB) to remotely control another computer. It transmits the keyboard and mouse events from one computer to another, relaying the graphical-screen updates back in the other direction, over a network. Seeing that the Trinnov is basically a computer.

I read that the Altitude 16 and 32 share the same audio quality, which sounds a little strange to me because in the 32 processing is made at 192khz while in the 16 is 96khz.... Do you also think that they more or less sound the same....?

That is the max sampling rate so which leads to a deeper question…to at least theoretically hear that difference you need a room and equipment (Speakers amplifiers sources etc) capable of doing justice to the higher capability. Im not going to dive into the “can you hear the difference argument as that is fraught with danger :-) many say you cant hear any difference even at much lower sampling rate but is it “better”then the answer is yes.. The challenge is to build a room that can handle more than 16 channels that even begins to give you a chance to experience the difference. So while it is “better” for me its the ability to manage more channels discretely that really counts.

it's just sampling rate. don't reduce perceived audio quality to something as trivial as that

I'm thinking of taking my HT to the next level with this. Could somebody shed some light on how much a typical hardware upgrade would cost. Even a ball park figure please.

That’s a pretty open question. What gear have you got now? How good do you want your room to be? How many audio channels? Do you want a wide format screen? Anamorphic lens yes or no? If we don’t know were you are starting from and where you want to end up it’s hard to help. In Australia very basic new home theatres start at maybe 8k and we start to get into really decent performance between $50 and $80k but the sky is the limit. But the Trinnov 16 channels kicks off at around $25k in Australia. It is worth it? If you like great audio and you have the $ the yes it’s a massively capable piece of gear

@@HomeTheatreEngineering so currently running 3 MK s300s, 4 MK S300T and for the ceiling it's 4 IW85s (Atmos). Subs I'm running 2 JL F212s. Currently have the Savoy G3 Audio Control amp and the Arcam 850. I know I'll need amplification too, perhaps the ATI signature.

Ah apologies I realised how I sounded. I was meaning an upgrade to the Trinnov, as opposed to a whole set up. I currently have a Sony 4k projector 270ES and 21.9 screen (Seymour) to add to the above.

@@duaplex1 Sure, so there are several Trinnov variants probably the most common being the Altitude 16. In Aus that’s about $25,000 (ish) but to get the most out of it get it set up professionally. It’s an amazing machine and will allow you to grow your system but it sounds amazing. Where are you located? Get in touch. I just did a remote setup for an overseas client on Monday. Love these things

The 16 has the same number of balanced inputs as the 32. How does one connect more than 16 speakers to the 32? I'm thinking connecting a 11.8.8 which is 27 speakers.....

Do you mean outputs? The 16 has of course 16 outputs. The 32 cane be 16, 24, or 32 outputs depending on how you order it.

@@HomeTheatreEngineering I’m trying to figure out how to input 32 speakers into the Altitude32 as in all pictures of the Altitude32 I only see 16 balanced inputs at the back. I can’t find any online picture of all 32 channels hooked up to the Altitude32.

It is vastly superior in so many ways. First of all it is a fully equipped 16 ch processor...then the depth of capability in terms of room measurement and speaker remapping is rather stunning. There is more than I can write about here

Yes depending on what you mean by upgradeable. The software is ultimately upgradeable and to some degree the hardware. As far as I understand it though you cannit simply add output channels but we will confirm that.
