you know, RTTE and HTTYD had a massive oppurtunity to be inclusive in a medieval setting...(HTTYD 3 kinda went for it but RTTE was conceptually such a fit for it man) they're so close to the north pole, and Dragons are much faster than ships and can't get frozen in by the water, so they could've gone to Northern America, meet the Inuit, or meet so many native american tribes if they went further south. In the other direction, they could've easily reached Russia, and again, in they travelled south, most of Eurasia is not incredibly far. Even assuming Dragons are a fair bit slower than migratory birds in the long run (they do seem more like short/middle-range fliers) they are shown to be able to conquer most terrains and be an apex prodator almost anywhere, unless they face locally adapted dragons. Only Sub-sahara Africa, South-America and Australia seem out of reach of a month/two month long journey, and non-aquatic types likely can't easily cross the pacific, and most won't be able to cross the Saharra... but most of the world was within reach with reasonable believability.
