Hampton University's 2012 Stroll Off Competition Featuring the Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. versus the Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Nice to see these young ladies still holding it down at my Alma Mater, back in my day 1997-2002, believe it or not, ZETA PHI BETA were the girls slept on that came out representing HARD at the step shows...they were raw and went hard! Anyway, I would give the edge to AKA's in this clip.
It was a stroll off...AKA's did not stroll the entire time!! More than half of their performance was stood in one spot! They both were sloppy and as a Woman of DST, I can honestly say I have seen better! But if I had to judge on what a stroll off is and what we do in the South...DST won it because they actually strolled the whole time, but that's the only reason!! Both need work...but good effort from both Orgs.
I AM ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA, I NEVER BAD MOUTH MY SISTERS, HOWEVER, I SHOWED THIS TO MY PRESIDENT AND LETS JUST SAY SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN FREED, WE TAKE OUR LINES VERY SERIOUS.. JUST AS ALL SOROS DO, AND IF YOU WILL NOT REP PROPERLY, THEN WE WILL FIND THOSE WHO WILL.
Both were entertaining but, the AKA's stroll was more creative. DELTA always bring the hype but, as far as being together and more different, the AKAs got it.

FWIW, happily HETEROSEXUAL, sir, but if someone wants to share their "same plumbing" that's their business( maybe that's you??) As far as the CRETINS who called themselves men( well effeminate ones) and attacked the AKA sorority a few years ago? I saw that on a Tommy Sotomayor blog, and found it disgusting- I do not believe in the secret society groups and organizations, but I was disgusted as those so called "gurly men" went after Black women! one thing to tease, but what they did was disgusting , cruel and perverse- such is this societies mindset that they want to overturn any group that won't bend to their will.
Sir NO sir! They weren't together a couple of them messed up multiple times and they had on different shoes (personal pet peeve) the Deltas were not perfect by any means but we won that one.
All the Deltas do is dance of course they would win lol. I heard they even have a stroll competition in their “interest meetings” and an ice breaker... so
Does anyone know the song that the Deltas were strolling to when they were standing still? I tried to listen for the lyrics but people were screaming over the song lol
So this is strictly based on overall performance; DELTAS triumph. AKAs created choreo that was out of that box, but execution wasn't synchronized enough for me. Delta choreo was less involved but they were ALL into, at all times, and it looked good on ALL of them! I caught fewer Deltas out of step compared to AKAs. And too often much of the AKA choreo only fit a few of the women, while the rest looked awkward and out of sync in MANY parts. Keep it simple, If it makes the overall performance look better. Intermediate choreo only pays of when executed properly and it wasn't. Deltas stuck to their strengths & it paid off in the end. (Brought to you by an ex dancer who attended undergrad with no active pan-hellenic presence for 95% of the time, except Iotas)
I have respect and love for both sororities yet belong to neither. I have plenty of cousins that belong to both so believe me when I say my opinion is by no means bias. Drum roll please....... Alpha Kappa Alpha dominated that dance battle. Aka won hands down. I even think I saw the Deltas do the Mc Hammer 👀

But when your number one we can act that way you ain't gotta stroll if you don't want to all y'all copy cats anyway there would be no such thing as a sorority if it were not for the founders of aka. Delta took pink and green and turned it into a world of drama queens. So there for do or say what you want but remember there is only one real sorority that's been running this yard 108 years Alpha kappa Alpha! Aka definitely one this one they got up here and did they thing so haters go get life and remember nun of y'all fraternity are real except kappa alpha psi and Alpha phi Alpha. Omega's act like little kids jumping around and phi beta sigma copy them and iota has no use along with the last to be founded sigma gamma rho. Go boo hoo all u want but when it comes to the best it's all ways the first.😕
To be in a sorority ... You must have a certain gpa , community services , productive around your college. It's not just for fun , there are other parts to it .
