I wouldn't say "gone wrong". If we were to base it on the Fusion dance concept, both Hu Tao and Yoimiya were on perfect angle, perfect dancing sequence, and perfect finger positioning, hence the Sparkle result emerged out of the dance's success.

Some people say Sparkle is the reincarnation of kurumi, but there are also some people who feel she is a combination of hutao and yoimiya (guinaifen), but I have to admit that she does resemble hutao in some ways
