Finally got ahold of a hu162(9) these are fitted to VW Audi Skoda etc and is one of 3 locks used to replace the old hu66 it uses 6 wafers and 3 side bars
im from america and we are just starting to get these on the newest vws. it was a auction vehicle and it was all keys lost. having not seen the key i had to make a guess that the key would only work going in one way due to the side cuts. could you do a in depth video on the differences as well as a decoding. this was helpful. ty
It's me again. Do you know if this will work for 2019 Touran? It's the only one of the three that fits in, but when I look at the key, it seems like it's too short. The milling on the key is much longer.
What they like at decoding ??? Do the side cuts decode too ?? I’ve got all 3 picks but not come across a lock yet to pick . How do you know which version of the lock you’re faced with ? Is the face cap different for say the side cut version
They should decode like any other lishi pick, I don't have to decode locks so can't comment on that I only need them for when people lock their keys in the car but I know lock Smith's that use lishi picks to decode and cut keys and they don't have any issues. The face of the locks are all identical you need to test the pick in the lock to see if it's the correct pick I'll upload a quick demonstration on how they fit in the correct or wrong lock 👍
I spent an hour trying to pick an Audi q2 17 plate with this pick today. Failed. I got slightly turn when picking main body of the pick but cant seem to get to grips with the side cuts
When I first started with these new vag locks it took me ages to pick them some I failed to open. It's only when I got this lock and took the time to learn the feeling of these locks I got a lot better at them best thing to do is find a second hand one to play with 👍
