The title of the video is misleading : Huang Jingyu (Johnny Huang) and Xie Keyin (Chloe Xie) are not a couple, just colleagues who worked together with the team in the September 2024 excellent thriller drama The First Shot. Huang Jingyu has not acknowledged publicly that he ever was married to the mentioned lady, who has been insidiously the cause of slander of him since 2018. For various reasons, the very marriage of these can be doubted. They were seemingly not acquainted for very long before 2018, date of their split : he was fresh out of university in Dandong far up in the North-esat, only starting out as busy model and actor around 2016-2017, and she had been away for years to get a diploma of arts studies in London, before busying herself on the art scene as gallery manager in Shanghai although that one could have been established before Johnny met her, since she was 6 years older than him. He possibly only had an affair with her, which led her to claim she was his wife : all the mentions of wife come from her messages on social media which threw hot and cold rumors about them for years after the split. The media reinterpreted a well wishes message he sent to her after she was treated for an overdose of sleeping pills, to take it that he had now publicly acknowledged relationship and marriage, but he never confirmed that interpretation. I speculated they might have decided, on a whim after a cup too many at a vernissage (she manages a gallery) that they go get a marriage license; but once at family affairs bureau, he got cold feet and absconded, so the license was left unstamped and she took the shreds home to launch a smear campaign in retaliation, with some help from unnamed people in her staff... That's how The Tale of Rose, the drama with Crystal Liu, starts, btw: a guy absconds after reaching the bureau, leaving his mistress in a tiff (although the lady in the drama just moves on and finds a better and richer husband, instead of harassing former flame for years). Dramatic, but plausible ?
