I just checked the Huawei México store and it is not yet available. The Mate 50 Pro and the P50 Pocket are the latest. The XS2 may be too pricy for this market but I will keep checking, as there may be US interest for them!
@Brandon Mooring It does everything a smart phone should do but very well. I like the stock android experience and i love the AI that is implemented is the OS. Camera are second to none as well.
Hi. Thanks for the video. Huawei is a great company. Like You I wish they were allowed in the US and Europe. I was thinking of going for the Huawei XS2 that has a outer and inner screen but stopped due to the apps issue. In the long run, Samsung seem to have the best Android software and with the s pen, I think I would wait to see what foldable they have next. With the Oppo flip coming, Xiaomi MI fold 2 out soon, I think Samsung would be thinking of vastly improving what is on offer with their next foldables.
Yeah at this point Samsung needs competition no matter where it comes from as long it's offering something different for better or worse. It will at least give foldable buyers other options but I would bet many who have been a Z Fold user since the earlier generations and/or like OneUI or Samsung's fold optimized software then it's unlikely they'll be looking to jump ship.
@@TechOdyssey Yeah I'm a big fan of the hardware but software is behind Samsung with respect to the inner display and optimizations for the larger form factor. This is where I hope Google will make some good choices for how it makes apps handle the larger inner display. There are many apps on the Find N that don't work right on the inner display and you'd have to use the outside display if you wanna have a normal use experience, at that point why get a foldable.
I have a P40 pro! If you download Gspace you can access and download apps from the Google play store. And then you create a shortcut and add it to your home screen. The only real downside is that when you open the shortcut you will get an advertisement 🤷♂️ Honestly I love my Huawei. The problem and the reason why my Huawei isn't replacing Samsung as my main phone is that because the US is not a supported region I can't set up a Huawei account and access all the advantages that come with that. I really wish they would be delisted and go back to selling here in the US. Unfortunately it looks like Huawei will be discontinuing the handset business outside of China at least for now.
@Leonardo Da Vinci the battery life is amazing and the cameras are super impressive considering they have 3 year old hardware. I just wish the US was a supported region so I could enjoy the perks of a Huawei account and upgrade without having to play games
Not useless at all. I’m using it just fine. In fact it’s nice that they have their own OS that operates so well. I bet in 2-3 years you’ll be hearing a lot more about it. Regardless of Google services, still not sold in the US anyway so it only pushes Huawei farther to keep making their OS even better.
Samsung is always ahead no matter what. Design is a matter of taste. I hate the back being a screen on the Huawei... You can't use it without a case or the back will touch the surface of whatever place you put it.. Back being the screen... Isn't good at all. The cases available for Huawei aren't great too, they don't protect the bottom or top.... Specs... Aren't as great as Samsung fold 4 overhall. BTW, aspect ratio of the front screen of the Samsung is just perfect size for everyday usage, typing with one hand is a must, holding the phone too, and everything is there. I mean.. Samsung all the way..
What confuses me is the price. It's so expensive even compared to other foldables, but it's form factor means it has one less screen and selfie camera (it could even do without the selfie camera altogether and just). In my mind, this should be the cheapest foldable, not counting the flips of course.
Why would it the be the cheapest? Likely one of the reasons it’s so expensive is the hardware. It’s much, much thinner than the Fold 4. The smaller processes and hardware mean more expensive. I expect that the Mate XS 3 will drop the price some though.
@@TechOdyssey I really hope so. I mean compared to the Mi Mix Fold 2 for instance, that's also really slim. Plus it has the main screen and secondary (outer) screen where the Mate XS just has one big screen and only activates half of it when folded. Plus, the outward fold doesn't angle the screen as sharply when folded so I would think the hinge mechanism wouldn't have to be as intricate (i.e. tucking the screen inside the hinge in a tear-drop shape). So I just imagined that outward folding phones would cost less than inward folding ones.
@TechOdyessy I meant it's a shame from my perspective in the sense that when I'm home I'm using rocking my phone naked so I can enjoy the beauty of a phone. When I'm out and about, yes I do out a case on but it's a slim one. That phone I would never be able to do that with. I'd be too worried about the screen on the back getting scratched up.
I wish they would just let Huawei back in, because I have always been a supporter of their products. I have had every Huawei phone from the Mate 7 to the Mate 20x (my backup phone). I'm not surprised to see Huawei put out a fold with solid specs. I'm currently using the Fold 4 which is my first fold.
@@leonardodavinci7425 Yeah, several chinese companies are creating better looking folds recently, the mi mix fold 2 is amazing. The only thing Samsung beats them in is software and a IP rating.
Very very true. I have accidentally dropped my Samsung devices (Note 4, S7, Note 8, Note 9, Note 20 and Z Flip 4) in cases (even thin cases) and no damage!! Can't say they same for my iPhones.
@@govardhanposina17 yeah I guess you’re right they just have IPX8 rating which is water resistance rating which I believe is up to 1.5 m for 30 minutes so I guess none if the foldable’s have dust rating….
@@jejunamja I think actual dust protection on foldables is really hard thanks to the namesake foldable screens, Samsung's definitely gotten better at protecting their screens since the fold 2 but we're no where near foldable screens being anywhere near as resistant as current typical smartphone screens(then again they do appear to be better than curved screens as far as taking a face front fall to the ground), Oppo/Vivo and Huawei screens do seem to be better with both the folding crease and screen resistance so I can see Samsung borrowing some of the stuff they're already implementing on say the Fold 5 or 6, probably waiting on a proper foolproof implementation that'll allow them to actually advertise it as a feature worth the upgrade rather than just a generational upgrade
Ya gonna gloss over outfold durability concerns in a 13 mins long vid? Lol.. The battery life is objectively atrocious despite 4G power savings. Only thing great is near creaseless due to outfold. The thin factor can’t be regarded as a plus point anymore due to Mi Mix Fold 2 superior ultra thin unibody infolding with way superior durability.
