Huawei is not dead. It has become stronger.

My main driver is a Mate XS Outward Foldable with no case for 8 months, dropped it a couple of times, put it in and out my pocket frequently and the screen is doing great. Dropped my glass screen phone before and screen shattered. So happy plastic screens are making a comeback with foldables as they are much more durable as they are more shatter proof! Scratches on plastic screen protector can be replaced. The Mate XT is my new dream device! God Bless Us!

This makes so much more sense than the Pixel and Galaxy Fold, you do actually get a much larger viewing space for movies and videos, its kind of like having a laptop screen not a square tablet

Awesome! I've never wanted a phone more than this, but I'd break it in a week and can't afford it... Tri-fold makes so much more sense, with just one screen and an actual usable tablet size.

I think it's amazing you got a massive tablet style phone that folds into a phone without the bulky tablet you have to carry around. It's just such a great idea. When this takes off and the designs get even better tablets will be obsolete!

Finally sensible application of folding screen tech. Soon we'll only need one device that we can use at home and carry in our pockets. Add a docking station with keyboard and a mouse and presto - you're all set!

I'm typing from my Huawei mate 20 x I got in 2019 and this is the only phone that made me never want another phone .my next phone after this was in 2022

4k screen resolution and 8k video quality makes sense for these screens.

Holy cow this makes way more sense than a foldable phone. I love it. Just wish I could afford it.

I have a Galaxy Fold Z 5 and love it. This Huawei looks great and it maximizes what I love about foldable, phone when I need it, mini-tablet when I need that. I hope this model encourages more competition in the foldable market. I would definitely go tri-fold.

Huawei tested the folding and unfolding tens of thousands of times. The screen and hinge are very strong.

When they sell foldable mobile it doesn't make sense. But this Huawei is actually a foldable tablet man!!! It it now make total sense :)

One thing i find Huawei got it right is they stand in the user view point to develop new product. So user will find their product make more sense to them. Just my 2cents worth opinion.

Thank you for covering this very interesting and futuristic device. It is a device of its own category and with different use-cases and potentially different group of customers if compared to book-style foldables. Someone who has no problems with standard flagship phone sizes and who uses a tablet from time to time could love this device, if the weight didn’t matter. I think this device is definitely not meant to be opened and closed all the time, and I am not referring to potential durability issues only. For people like me who prefer small pocketable phones with a big display at the same time the Z Fold could be the perfect device. I can open and close it all day long easily. As long as Mate XT is used as a phone, the battery life should be great. If used as tablet, the battery life could be too short, but I think this is acceptable because the tablet mode is not the main mode when being on the run. At home, you can always find time to charge it.

Probably the coolest device out there. (Fold2 owner here) Would be very interested, but the price is prohibitive atm.

when is Huawei PC coming out? now they make GPU and CPU and other Chips, they have to start selling their own PC worldwide now, this phone looks amazing, am gonna wait for the global release to buy it, but I need Huawei PC as well. I forgot that they also sell Cars and AI Chips as well, great company, I wish them the best, my love and respect for the Chinese developers 💪💪💪💪

Huawei used to be only a telecommunication company later developed mobil phones, after sanction from US, they emerged to a hardware and software company with the two plus servers, cloud data storage and computing, Harmony operation system, chip design and manufacture, automobile and car system, aiming AI - All Intelligent to the future. I would put all my invest to its share if it listed but they won't.

I don't know how you would engineer this, but I think it'd be cool if you had 3 modes. You can use it as a phone with a typical screen, unfold it once to use it as a "normal" fold, then unfold it again to have the largest display for media, etc.

Having experienced "folded phones" myself, I can already say, that I will never get back to ordinary phones. As a massive tablet fan, I am highly impressed with this tri-fold foldable. There are rummors, that Samsung will bring its first one on the market at the end of 2025. If it is true and if it supports stylus, I would trade in my new Samsung Galaxy Fold Z6 ans get rid of my Ipad Air 2024 in a blink of an eye. That would be an ultimate all-round gadget for me till the day it stops functioning.

I currently tested OnePlus Ace 3 pro with global rom with SD8 gen3. Super device reminds ne of Huawei before ban here in Europe. And only costed me 414€. But i miss Huawei products with android because i had it before. Curved display 👌💯%

This has serious tech wow factor, same feeling as when I first saw the Iphone, it looks like something right out of a scifi movie

With an attachment this can become a naked eye virtual 3D display.

They can make it fully protected big display, just by closing all sides to inside, and to do this making 1 hinge wider, or even use hinge from Mate X. That's how you get not exposed folding display. Also camera modules then must be moved to the middle section

This was always the dream device for me, this is the "device to rule them all" that we've hearing about for ages. When they start making a foldable detachable keyboard cases for this device (Kind of like the Apple Magic Keyboard hopefully) and AR Glasses that go with it hopefully, it will the Game changer that people have been hoping for ever since that first Samsung foldable launched.

i believe if huawei was not banded by some country every huawei model phone can sell more then 10m set. i am using huawei mate30 pro now and this phone i already use almost 5 year till now on phone still in excellent condition. i am planning to get mate 70 pro when it launched😉

It really make sense, for over $2500 you get a smartphone and a tablet if you buy an iPad and iPhone 16 Pro Max separately it costs you more than that!! And the best of all, it can make full use of the outer screen while Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 a bit odd has an outer screen on its own without any other useage!!

This is the real idea to make a good and useful foldable smartphones, I’m excited to see what Samsung and other companies will bring soon…

Just saying, everyone worried about the screen edge, heres a secret: The entire front of the screen is exposed! Its the price we pay for these folding phones. But great video, amazing tech. To bad we have jinaphobia here in the US and can no longer get Huawei phones. Not that I would buy a $2800 phone but I would like the option and the other options.

Imagine Huawei without sanctions and this phone can be developed and released with collaborations of new gen Snapdragon chip made by TSMC, new Samsung screen, joint efforts from Google Android for this new form factor, heck throw in OpenAI with server side nVidia GPU farm, what a dream world for consumers. At bare minimum it'd push Apple to innovate harder too.

Huawei already had fold out and fold in phones, this is just putting the 2 together.... hat's off for the foresight to do both...

Very impressive as far as tech is concerned. Im still thinking of the real world usage. And also i expect this form factor to be very pricy, but it holds a lot of promise for the future

The only problem with this phone is the price, if they would sell it for half price, I definitely would buy one.

this is exactly what foldable meant to be, a full flesh tablet in a phone size !!! dont worry about the OS, Honor (Huawei brand outside of China) will have Google fully supported.

I never cared for folding phones, but this makes a lot more sense. Normal folding phones fold from a decent phone to a pretty crappy tablet because of the nearly 1:1 aspect ratio, and they're still small even compared to the iPad Mini. But this makes a lot more sense, because the actual tablet size is a lot bigger. Can't wait to see this technology improve in a couple years, and maybe ill even buy one, if i could afford it.

Very good feel, but the price is very expensive for the time being.
