Finally a P20 review and not the P20 pro! idk why people like big screens and 3-4 cameras on their phones! i just don't understand this trend and i actually like the notch on the phones small ones!
I think these types of reviews are the right length, personally was a little bored at the app list, but I'd imagine alot of people care about those things so that's just me.. But overall I like how in depth this went and hopefully future ones as well. I don't like reviews that only brush up on the main talking points, where the majority of reviewers say the same things and it turns more into a contest of who has better editing skills.. But doing a complete and thorough review like this one is great, it goes deeper than 90% of the reviews out there and others definitely appreciate that, I know I do! I'm not even looking to buy this phone, but I like to nerd out on phone specs from time to time, so I got my fix..
This is going to be my first smartphone. The last time I owned a cell phone was back in the flip phone days. So I've got a lot to learn. I just purchased this and it should arrive next week. I'll probably re-watch this again to help me figure things out. Thank you.
I think a EMUI review could be great. I liked the extensive walk-through, but I believe you can dispense with the obvious features (flashlight...) and expand on the more unique features for the specific phone. All in all a great video review! Thanks!
I haven't had an Android since the Xperia Z5 Compact, having this complete walkthrough really helped me given how far Android tech has progressed since then.
Huge fan of Complete Walkthroughs. In a nutshell we get a Users Manual of the Device with recommendations and opinions. Please keep doing them! Separating OSs walkthrough from the device´s seems a better and more efficient idea than compiling both things together. Regarding the length of the video, I would appreciate your criteria of the most important and useful features of the device. Thumbs up!
Keeping it real man your reviews just get better The more in depth the better we need to know everything and you explain it really well very clear and precise. 🙂👍
Longer walkthroughs please! I want as much info as I can get about a phone before I purchase. And I'm talking about real world hands-on info and not just reading off a spec sheet. Appreciate your video!
Thanks, I just bought the phone and this is helping me understand the phone better. Perhaps you can do some video on each aspect which can be part of a more in depth video.
Thanks a lot for this video! I am now convinced I want p20 over a few other phones. I think it would be awesome if you could make a complete walkthrough BUT break it in parts. This would also allow you to speak less quickly (unless you simply like it). I am for one interested in more day to day use stuff like making phone calls, texting options, Word, music, admin panel, dual screen, adjusting volume while still locked etc. Some of these features really disappointed me on my current phone and I wasn't expecting they can actually go wrong. Anyways - grease video, thanks a lot!
I would love a break down of the settings in separate videos. I love taking pictures but I under-utilize my phone for sure! Same goes for many other functions I'm just not aware of. Thanks!!
Hey another great video...my suggestion would be not to make them long or short but to do separate videos about the same product. What I mean is pick 2 or 3 subjects of the phone and put them in 1 video for instance P20 Part 1 ( Camera, sound, display) and Part 2 could be about (Security, settings and how to make good use of your P20) etc etc and these videos could be like 5 mins each
Really liked the video! I've kind of been struggling with deciding which phone to purchase , but this helped me make the decision of buying the P20! Thank you :)
I am a Samsung guy, thinking of switching from my old Note 4, thats still capable and fast to an S8+, but i have seen this model, the P20 and it looks gorgeous ... any viewers has this model ? Never owned a Huawei ...
Great walkthrough! thank you! I think the only thing I would want to see as an addition to this is a video demo where you're actually walking to show stabilisation
I like the walk thru. Plus your in the states. So it makes it more relative to me. Finally! Someone who does amazing reviews who is not on the other side of the pond!! Subscribed!!
Everything in one video is preferred by me. Kindly indicate whether Ambient Display and Always On Display is available for a phone too. If not present, show how the phone handles notifications when the screen is off(e.g. wakes the screen or LED flash). Thanks.
Go all out on these videos, man! Just add time stamps for the people who likes it shorter. I like what you're doing here and definitely won't complain about you going completely in-depth. You making these videos in the 20-30 minutes mark would be great. Again, just add time stamps for the others.
I love the walkthroughs, and I definitely would love the complete walkthroughs for the OS with specific OS for specific device. This will therefore be my repository for phone info, and seperate it from the already saturated tech videos out there that cover the simple bells and whistles of a phone. These walkthroughs could be like ThrUnlockr's thing :)
I think going through more settings would be beneficial, possibly settings that are phone-specific (like the notch hidden setting for example), or settings that can really help with the use of the phone that may not be well known to your average user. With this, I would recommend breaking the video into "chapters" with time stamps in the comments so that people can skip ahead if they are only interested in watching say, the camera portions, or the spec review peices.
I would appreciate if you do longer versions of them but probably in part 1 and 2 kind of thing? Anyway, it's a great video, it helped me a ton. Thanks a lot :)
Just came across your video, great job! As for your question, in my opinion, a thorough OS's walkthrough and a separated one for the devices would be awesome! Keep up the good work
great review! thinking of buying this to work next to my iphone as a second device! also right now in canada one of the cellphone providers is selling it at a very cheap price with a free huawei gt smartwatch! very hard to refuse that deal! also i'm a big fan of leica camera, which this device has!
Great video thanks. Really comprehensive info about the camera functions which was really important for me. Good length of video. Too long and I tend to switch off a bit. Nice
Great walkthrough, as always! Informative and your style is very easy to follow and understand, especially when mentioning lots of technical details. As for this particular phone, it has lots of great features and would be almost perfect (even without the 3 part camera of the Pro) if it had a memory expansion slot. I like your idea of going through specific OS on a separate video, then referring to the video of the appropriate OS when it applies to a particular device. The 10 to 12 minute video length is good, it's long enough to give important information but not too long to lose interest. -K
A great and informative video I myself like the complete walkthroughs because i don't alwazs have the possibility to try a mobile that i am intrested in unless a friend already have it. Regarding going over things that are common in a lot of mobiles like the same Android version, I guess it would be more than enough to make a separate video about it and put out the link to it on the video insteadof going over it every time you review a new mobile.
A EMUI video separate of the phone walkthrough is a good idea. The length of this video is pretty good, if you're going to adjust maybe a little less. Cheers.
The phone is pretty nice but obviously p20 pro is much better. The goldish gradient is really nice too but rather feminine.the twilight one is simply gorgeous! Anyway great walkthrough as usual...kinda funny when you talk about the built-in apps, sarcastic 😂 Great work as usual David 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
danharry278 the goldish is gorgeous as well... but the pastel look gives a feminine appearance compared to the twilight which looks more interesting and dashing
Edges have a problem with screens burning out. My S6+ screen burned and then s8+. Repair company said that a lot of people have this problem. Only Note 9 you can fix it yourself by factory resetting it.
Hello. 1st time I've seen one of your videos. I've had the P20 for about a week myself. A few things to pick on but over all is a great phone. Maybe these could be a little longer. I'd say anything from 15mins [like this one] to about 20. As there's much to talk about. Also if you get to use the phone, it's important to give your thoughts on how well it pulls in signal & holds onto it. 3G-HSPA+ and 4G-LTE. I've also subscribed! J.
I would like to see some options in more details, like Huawei share. You could give an example of file transfer. Is it possible to take a photo of a text in one language, do the OCR and then translate it. Also an example would be helpful.
I really want to know how the P20 sounds through headphones. The audio experience is the most important part of buying a new phone. I really don't care about the camera as I'm no photographer. I currently have an HTC10 which sounds awesome with my Bayer Dynamic Byron headphones but I'm due an upgrade. I'd love to know how the P20 handles audio.
here's an idea i would love to know that if the device gets hot after a period of time, can we disable/uninstall the preinstalled apps. how long will the battery will be drained if you use it on a daily usage with an average socializing, when you play games or on standby.
I would do one video per OS (version specific) then add it to the end if there are any device specific function which is available in addition to the standard os
I like the way you cover things thoroughly... It's hard to make sure whichever tech youtube video you watch actually covers everything, so what you've been doing is great! Your idea of separating EMUI seemed quite nice... and you can still do that... but maybe you can do a basic, more brief/general video and a link to a more indepth one or they can be all in the same video but just let the viewers know that you've covered the basics but if you want to watch more keep watching... But keep doing what you do!
15 minutes is enough imo , to be longer than that it has to be something very compelling , i have watched quite a few longer ones on other channels , and it can get a bit long and drawn out , and in the end scanning through lists of video`s to look at ...... 20/30 minute plus videos end up more often than not just not being looked at ....... not a way to get more views imo . i did enjoy learning something from your walk through . cheers .
Does the always on display function on the p20 or the p20 pro show the notifications from the social media apps?I have a mate 10 pro and I am realy missing that feature.
I have one, prety good phone, i like that the system navigation can be set on the home button. For me because of reading glases it is awesome . For the rest all is working as it should, no glitch yet after 6 month. Of course pro should be better to have but it is not worth the price difference.
I kinda like this P20 mainly for the size 5.8" but no OIS and that front fingerprint sensor, I can live with that not the shaky video, make this perfect Huawei, I will wait..
My phone is 5 days old. I just noticed it today as I listen carefully to its speakers and feeling it through vibration, the left speaker is not emitting sound nor vibrating (as a indication that it works as the right speaker does.) Is this normal or I have a defective unit? Please reply ASAP, so I can go to the store and ask for replacement. Thank you.
