To other phones yes but all in all even 10x is not that good. And even the 5x is good but if you zoom a little bit in the taken picture you see nearly no clear details.
@@Krabspinne it's a function that no other phones can ,that's what Huawei want. they are not making a phone which can be compared to professional cameras. the details are not perfect but enough for a phone.
SkiFunGR Just curious. Wouldnt you use a more professional camera for wildlife photography even if you’re just a hobbyist? I think a phone camera has too much room for error considering the importance of timing and the long wait time for a perfect shot.
@@keviniiiiii4750 thats true! But buying a good dslr and a good smartphone will take quite the money to make it! Plus some people prefer not taking huge and fragile dslrs on their adventures! Its really great to finally seeing a great zoom. Have a nice day!
@@RubixB0y And some people expect Dark mode to be pure black instead of Grey shades like Twitter. Your expectations mean nothing to what was said, which it was funny but in the end, accurate.
I own a Huawei P30 Pro, and I just wanna say that you can deactivate the launch of Google assistant with the power button, you can also deactivate Hitouch so it doesn't bother you when you zoom a photo, and in my case I haven't had problems with the home button.
Hey Marques, just wanted to note a few things! Huawei actually lets you use zoom by scrolling up and down in the area UNDERNEATH the zoom icons. This works on both the right and left sides, making it super easy to zoom one-handed regardless of which hand you're using. If you're shooting in landscape mode, the areas to the left and right of the zoom icons are where you have to scroll. Don't know why they wouldn't note that anywhere in the camera app, but they are very handy. Also, in really dim areas I noticed that pictures do come out different when using the night mode instead of auto mode. I'm not sure, but I think you can turn off Master AI when in auto mode if you don't want to brighten the images and keep things dark and true to the scene. Thanks for the great videos as always!
I've had this phone since it was released, and I'm still using it. In fact, I don't really want to leave it. I've tried using phones released in 2022, and I'm always shocked at how my P30 pro still keeps up with the competition.
@@wojciechd6765 I mean you can still enjoy the concert while recording. I just occasionally pull my phone out, hold it above my head for a few moments to get a little clip I can look back at or show friends and family. It's the people who open Snapchat and stare at the phone screens while filming that are missing out on the experience
I'm sorry guys but this is absolutely the case! Yeah the camera and processor get better with every iteration but compared to how Android phones have moved on iphone is so far behind. It IS basically the same phone year after year but it's trendy so people buy. It's a know fact in the industry that apple could have released their most recent phone years ago but intentionally drip feed same improvements every year and were caught intentionally slow their phones down at a year old so people would buy the newer model
It's funny. the same CIA who was spying on us while telling us they weren't then they were busted they were are now telling us to worry about Chinese spying on us. It's pathetic.
@@myaccount__7269 Atleast the Chinese can't burst through your front door. I know if I was up to no good, I'd rather another "competing" nation was spying than my own. Tbh, I think trump et al, is full of shit, the reason they don't want hauwei rolling out 5g, is because the US companies are years behind them. Meaning if hauwei rolls out their 5g, the US agencies and allies, will loose the ability to spy on massive parts of the Internet. As 5g will eventually take over wired Internet.
If u buy one now there is no problem, u can still get updates from google and use Google services, the Ban will only affect phones that realese after the Ban is done
*Fair & honesty is what keeps me coming back for more.* *Excellent job on explaining everything, I actually walked away with way more than I came in with.*
I'm watching this with my P30 pro. Battery is exemplary. With regular use of social media apps and 5-10 phone calls daily, it'll last for 2days. Most of the annoying stuff that he mentioned in the first part of the vid can be turned off and yes, applying nova launcher is the key to get rid of most of the problems in this phone which is mainly the software. Btw, they will roll a big software update in the next few days...hopefully it'll solve everything.
@@zabenaleid2547 i called the customer service couple of days ago and they told me they're rolling a big update in the coming weeks. It will include the dual video shooting and some audio enhancements which is something I look forward to. Hopefully that will really help this device boost it's capabilities.
@Mr. Kattan question dude, is this fixed when you use earphones? my understanding was always that the better the earphone, the better the quality. could you confirm??
This is an awesome phone, I was torn between it and the S10, after being a Samsung fan for so long. But the P30 Pro won my heart, and I haven't looked back
Stacking two phones on top of each other and then removing the one on top doesn't seem that mad to me. Looks cool for sure, but wouldn't describe it as "mad".
Watching on my P30 Pro. Battery insane. IR blaster. SUPER FAST 40W charger. Awesome design. Put Nova launcher and enable Dark mode, and you're set. Low light photos are mind blowing. Thot protection on deck.
@@shawnmiranda Yes, it has 40w charging and it's really really fast. Though the fastest right now should be Oppo's Find X 50w charging, fully charged within 30mins which is crazy.
I truly agree with you, the Huawei P30 pro blew up my mind with all it's great specks, camera, battery, the design, fast finger print unlock, screen to body ratio and it's great display. I have been saving money for 2 weeks now just to put my hands on this futuristic device. I really wish it was sold in the U.S.
Does P30 have the notification issue other Huawei phones have? It cares about saving battery so much, people won't get notifications when they get messages or snaps for example. I have P20 pro and even with "Performance mode" on and all notifications on, i still won't receive notifications that much. Annoying how unrealiable it is. With the same settings on sometimes i get notifications right away and sometimes i get notifications +1 hour late
mkbhd is totally biased i never noticed him talking about camera bumps on iphone nor the indisplay finger print sensor nor the hurdle one would face accessing volume keys the other side being trouble for users using folding covers ...and even going whole screen up jus to navigate back from a menu(not home) and forget about using power key for camera on iphone . . stupidity at peaks it's made for camera beast and doesn't come to it until mora than halftime of his review video.. . screw you mkbhd with credits to JERRY
@@07391A0233 He talks about the camera bump in every phone, the in display fingerprint sensor in every phone that had one and nobody uses flip covers esp in the US, for the most part. You can just slide left for the camera in the iPhone lockscreen. So stop whining!
You actually make the best videos. I got a P30 Pro a week ago and watching your video now I agree with everything, the shortfalls especially! You give the real perspective :)
@RU-vid Sans Samsung better but expensive, xiaomi cheaper with same soc but not in market in us. If you're not in us and wanna get a cheap phone, xiaomi best
@@BA10Lexie my understanding is, it stops getting OS updates but Google services works just fine. Correct me if I'm wrong. I had a Mate 20X till 2021 and all Google apps worked.
I love how on every single video on youtube, when i turn on full screen mode, the video get cut of in some parts, but on MKBHD videos, i can watch it perfectly fine. So thats why i want to say, Thank You 😂
On my PC I get black bars on left and right side with all videos because of 21:9 monitor. And black bars on all sides with most trailers because some idiot thinks that it's ok to add black bars to the video itself to make the file 16:9.
I think it's worth noting that, while most people don't care about it, Huawei bootloaders can't be unlocked anymore. This is a waste of great specs for tweakers and modders. Even if you wanted to root it, you couldn't because the bootloader is locked. This kills any chance for software upgrades after Huawei drops support for it.
Totally getting this TODAY, for a camera phone just for RU-vid for the wife and I. Where we live Huawei is sold in almost every electronics store and we even have Huawei outlets. Thank you so much for this review!
@@catherinemathew6150 Hi Catherine. Well it's funny that you ask... I went to the electronics store last week with my wife we looked at the P30 Pro and, as Marques suggested in the video, while it took great photos, the video quality was not that great unfortunately, especially from the front facing camera; which for me is most important since I'm a RU-vidr. Sitting right next to the P30 Pro however was the Samsung S20 Plus. At first I saw the price tag and thought, "oh that's not happening", but when I saw the video quality I bought it in 20 minutes haha. The P30 pro's video quality wasn't terrible or bad, but it wasn't EXCELLENT either. I hope that helps.
@@RichTechnologyGroup oh i see, I just wanted to know if the phone had working Google apps and good camera quality cause that's more than enough for me, Samsung is great but whenever I buy Samsung it doesn't last that long the battery gets heated up or the phone gets stuck so that's why I don't prefer that much now, Anyways Thanks for replying :) !!
solid phone ahead of time, recently upgraded to a Galaxy S21 but it's more of a downgrade because it uses 10% an hour, the P30 Pro got flawless battery life compared to S21.
I'm using my phone for about 3 years now battery still good I even play on it performance games it still has some battery left it uses like 3% to 7% an hour only
Please don't let EMUI stop you from buying this phone. It is an android. Just get nova or a pixel launcher. Get a pixel icon pack. Then disable and hide some of the bloat ware. Maybe download one or two apps to customise some of the little annoying things marques highlights. And I promise you won't even think about the software. You may need to spend 20 mins in the settings. But boy is it worth it.
@@speedemon81 bootloader is one thing, launcher is another thing. I have a Huawei phone and I'm using launchers and icon packs with no problem. Unless you have Chinese version ofcourse.
