There is nothing amazing about it because SoC already could produce 7nm back in 2021 with DUV. They also probably got around the 5G illegally. Just like the Apple M1, M2 chips, Huawei, like Apple, do not produce the chips themselves, the chips were manufactured by TSMC. The ban essentially forced TSMC to stop making chips for Huawei. So this breakthrough is not about designing chips, which Huawei had always been able to do, this is about China now having the capability to manufacture more advance chips.
