Unboxing the Huawei Watch GT 4 46mm Steel smartwatch with a two week review of the battery life, fitness tracking and other bits. Very strange that this watch didn't pick up your awake time at 4am... my Watch GT1 has been measuring my sleep since 2019 and picks up even if I'm awake for 1 minute. And YES the battery is still king. The band needs replacement but it's a real quality product. Will only consider a huawei watch in the future.

Wearing Huawei GT2 E for 2 plus years and yesterday the screen pop off while I'm in a shower, so it had turned into brick! No bulging battery or anything, the battery still lasted me 1 whole week after all those years and it really did lasted 2 weeks before after switching off most of the functions. Now I'm already purchased GT4 Black version online and waiting for it's delivery, so this review really helped on what to expect.

I use Huawei watch GT3, and I'm really surprised that it can last 10 days with a single charge while others Samsung and Apple need to be charged daily

Firstly, my Samsung Galaxy Watch lasts 3 days. Secondly, the Huawei Watches are not full-fledged smartwatches. Wear OS can do so much more than Harmony OS. You have the Google Playstore and have lots of app options. With Huawei you only have a few from the Huawei Store. Of course, the Huawei is a nice watch, but not a full-fledged one. If it had all the functions that a Samsung Watch had, it wouldn't last any longer. You just have to know what you want. Since I can't sleep with the watch on anyway, I take it off at night and charge it fully every 3 days. So who cares?

I am in total agreement with you here. I wear my iwatch all day and all night except when it is on the charger, the battery of my iwatch lasts about 15 hours, even the latest iwatch 7 it only lasts 18 hours. I use my iwatch mainly for health monitoring and I don't load any apps besides the ones came with iwatch and still the battery life is extremely short.

I have Apple Watch and GT 2 Pro. I stopped wearing it until Huawei Health became avail on Iphone. Trust me, GT 2 pro was way better compare to my series 7! The quality is just superb! Never used any screen protector and no visible scratches at all! Not to mention its 10+ days life in a single charge (always on display off). Great video mate! Anyway, is the strap on this stainless steel version changeable? thanks!

I’ve got gt3 pro . Looks smart and sporty at the same time depending on face/band. Battery life is amazing, get a week with daily exercise tracking. Only bad thing is no music transfer support in iOS, have to pair with Android.

Hi, I have slim wrists like yourself and wondered if you could help me with a problem. I have a 46mm Huawei GT3 Pro and the HR monitor frequently does a sudden plunge to around 37bpm and then back up again. Huawei exchanged, it and the new one did the same, they did 2 repairs with no difference. I tried every which way of wearing it and tightness of strap with no difference. Yet my wife's Fitbit Versa 4 works perfect on me. Did you experience any random heart rate sudden drops like this with the GT4? Thanks in advance!

My gt2 pro when i set it on do not disturb it used to stop the screen from switching on when i move my hand during sleep, however the GT4 Premium 46mm which I bought, still when i move my hand when im sleeping the screen switches is on full brightness, and when by mistake ill rotate the button it will vibrate in my sleep and wake me up, how can these be switched off?

I am curious how this compares to the Huawei Watch ultimate. It seems to have comparable stats. I guess the unique thing about the ultimate is the diving mode and the more premium design? Anyone with either Watch who can help me with this? I am looking at this watches and maybe the Garmin epix 51mm

The Huawei watch ultimate is another class, in terms of materials especially. I would wait for the GT 4 pro model which usually has a sapphire glass, that is scratch ressistant.

I've got the GT2, had it for 4 years and was pretty happy with it. It however does not have skiing as exercise wich bothers me a lot here in middle europe during the winter... But at least 30 other useless sports are present, probbalby no one has ever used to this date... It however died two days ago - Touch not responding anymore. I now bought a galaxy watch 6 classic. I will definitely miss the great battery life but software updates were just too unfrequent and i have the feeling in 4 years of development pretty much no relevant new features were introduced to the Huawei GT-lineup...

GT 2 similar pro & con to GT 4: - pro: GPS track your step to the side of the sidewalk you shifted to while avoiding a passersby. - con: Sleep track does record me as sleeping when Im calm, laying down watching TV at night (my heart rate is lower than average)

I've managed to break my GT2E on the corner but that's taken years of tradie abuse. This looks a good replacement as it has the ECG built in too. Plus you don't have the faff of charging it every damn night

I own a GT 2 for almost 3 years now. Battery last 2 weeks. Get LinkedIn/sms/email notifications. Don't want to receive what's app notifications, rarely use Facebook. Played this video because I want to get a GT 4. No way I get back to a 24h Battery life watch as I'm used to get both my day & night activity + full weekly activity recorded and extremely detailed. Once you get used to the Huawei app, there is so much you learn about your own body.

I noticed some interesting differences... The app screen used to be very flat with NO animations on icons - where they shrink as you scroll across them. Some videos show the GT4 with the animation like here and on the Watch 4 and 4 Pro, but others have demonstrated it with the typical GT3 and GT3 Pro icon grid with no animations!!!

Usually you can. In fact, you could probably save yourself some (probably a lot) bucks by buying the non-steel version and buy a steel wrist strap, separately, after, from another brand .

You can't download any apps or any music if u are on iPhone. (But if you have a friend with an android it isn't a problem at all) btw the connection is nice with the iPhone.

Does the GT4 have Talkback installed, a screen reader for watches Does GT4 have news app installed In fact, what apps are installed Can I use gmail on GT4 and is it easy to set up Can you side load Google play store I like the GT4 because it is big, bright and the main thing, it has a great battery life, but I need these apps so I can get about and access the watch, or it would be no use to me. I bought this today and the watch is quite limited. It does bother me that there is no mute button in the control panel, no Bluetooth button, unfortunately no WiFi button, no AOD always on or off, no sound button, everything must be turned off or on via settings. You cannot download anything via the watch. There are a few apps that you can download via the app gallery on your phone, but all apps (except calculator) are hopeless. You can only save 5 options to use, for example; sleep, heart, rings, contacts, calendar... You can save 15 options on the Samsung watch... Notifications are not clearly visible, so you always have to switch with your phone. Transferring music always indicates that the file is damaged, even though they are really MP3 files. Thing is quite limited. The great thing about this watch is the battery life, the form factor, and the graphics are very nice to look at, super fast refresh rate. Beautiful watch faces, and lots of sports functions with GPS...

Aaaaa it was out before the 4, I have on my wrist as we speak... it's a piece of jewelry . The only downside of it...and it's not the watch is that for some reason pixel phones keep disconnecting them I don't know for what reason. I'm currently on a Samsung phone and no connection problem, if I'll forget my phone and be to far from the watch it will disconnect but reconnect the moment it will be in range. But will the my pixel phone it's just a mess...I wonder why....

Unfortunately I don't like the design somehow. I simply think my Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro with a titanium bracelet is nicer. And since this one can no longer do it one way or another, I'll stick with it. Only wear them for celebrations anyway. For everything else, I prefer my Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic LTE.
