What a sad little bridge, it’s screaming out for help but people arnt listening. Thanks for the share and taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
I have to admit, I am a little bit jealous. We tried to get to the bridge via the Federal Penitentiary, and were chased off the property by a guy with an automatic rifle. At one point the farm on the other side was owned by my great aunt and my dad had memories of fishing under that bridge as a boy. You lucked out getting access!
You can carry tracing paper or vellum paper and charcoal stix , the art kind , in Naomi , so when your in old cemetery’s you can hold it on the head stones and rub the charcoal across the paper and it will lift the writing, so you can clearly read the faded old ones 🍄🍄🍒🍒🌷😎❤️😎🍒🍄
Love the video. Would be nice if someone would restore it. I looked it up and it is in Lewisburg, not Lewistown. I grew up near Lewistown so I was interested to know if it was near there and I don’t remember a penitentiary in Lewistown.
Worse shape Covered bridge so far for sure Cliff but better then the ones that are gone completely forever. Too bad they can't get some "trusties" from the prison to do the labor and some donated materials to save it. I went to school (1st grade through 6th) right across the street from Eastern State Petitionary in the early 50's. That petitionary is between Parish St., 22nd. St., Fairmont Ave and Brown St. in Phila. My school was at corner of 22nd and Brown. I remember seeing the trusted prisoners out side the walls doing work there all the time. But that was then and this is now. I think it closed in 1970 or so.
I mentioned before their is no covered bridges in Michigan, I was wrong. Michigan has 5 covered covered bridges they are all in the Lower Peninsula South West and South East area. Ionia County has the longest in use covered bridge. It's name is Whites Covered bridge; the bridge is 120ft long it is made from Hewn Lumber the bridge was hand made using wooden pegs and hand cut nails.
