Workflows and sequences in HubSpot can often be confused for one and other. They both feature automation tasks like nurturing leads, automating tedious sales and notifying team members, etc. So when do you use each? Get more tips like this on our weekly newsletter: hubs.ly/Q016Xfn-0
While similar, these tools have many distinct differences. HubSpot sequences replace one-to-one functions inside the CRM - replacing a lot of that tedious sales follow up “by hand”. Sequences in HubSpot are often used by sales teams to establish a connection with a lead through a series of follow-ups. Sequences could also be used to set up an email series to remind a customer to renew through their sales rep.
Workflows on the other hand, are most often used by marketers (or in some companies, by customer service teams). Workflows are triggered by all sorts of different activities or field properties in your internal and external processes. Some of the workflow triggers include deal status alerts in HubSpot, email nurturing for someone who’s requested more information, activity alerts, lead assignments, and more!

I just finished watching this video and I have a follow-up question: Is it possible to trigger a workflow for those who completed a sequence and didn't take an action? For example, I created a 3 email sequence. Those who received the 3 emails sequence and did not reply/schedule a demo, will get the workflow. Is that possible?

Sort of. The functionality of sequence reporting and triggers continues to be one HubSpot is working on. Right now, you’d need to use a trigger of a “last sales email” either didn’t open or didn’t click, or, if the contact never clicked on a specific CTA. Since the triggers from sequences are limited, you’ll want to think about what actions you DO have available to you and put those in place in advance (such as using a specific link in your emails) to trigger the post workflows.

How can I fill the "Company domain" filed when I want to sign up?

Your company domain is the primary part of your website address. Such as "simplestrat.com" from "www.simplestrat.com"

Instead of manually adding contacts to sequence lists, can Zapier automate it based on their interactions?

Unfortunately there is not an option to enroll contacts in a sequence with Zapier. We would love to see something like that!

Thanks for the video! You provided a solid answer to one of the things I didn't "get" after playing around HS. A bit of a suggestion: You probably want to get a bit closer to your mic and maybe check out some videos about reducing vocal fry.

How to add to a sequence in hubspot for contacts that didn't reply?

We would suggest that if someone hasn’t replied, they are not interested and you’ll need to discover another way to engage with them. This may mean adding them to a LinkedIn outreach campaign, putting them into your targeted ads audience, etc. If you do want to send them a new sequence, you’d simply need to enroll them in that new sequence by hand. There are no options at this time to enroll in a sequence automatically.
