I picked up some 917's in Jackson Hole last week. While they aren't the new huckberry collab, everything that is said in this video holds true. I have not taken them off. I wore them out of the shop after buying them. They feel like sneakers, they dress up or down. Really sweet boots.
I was about the purchase the Moc 917 bone brown version and . . . this video has me thinking if there is a noticeable difference between the two versions. Do you have any thoughts about the Moc Toe version vs. this colab? Good job on the voice!
I have plantar fasciitis. Most boots pain me. The heel area is always too narrow. I need comfortable work boots. Carhartt Raiders' boots were my go too but now my feet cant stand them anymore.
Depends how long? But still to this point I would say these are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn straight from the box, both on and off trail.
So these, from what I’ve found, are only waterproof to about 2-3 inches above the ankle. If you will be in deeper water I would say find something that dries faster. But if you don’t think the water crossings will be an issue (like rock hopping or finding shallow walking areas) then I think these would be fantastic. They have great structure, incredibly comfortable, and they fit like a tennis shoe.
I have a pair of these. I'm not as gushing. 50% off, maybe gushing. Comparing these to a 'medium premium' hand made boot(they're always on sale) from Allen Edmonds leaves these wildly lacking. The quality of leather is meh. The lining is meh. The footbed is meh. They are glued not welted. I knew that buying them. They are more like a sneaker in construction. Which is what attracted me. Well, the style mostly. But I expect the glue to come undone eventually if I expose them to much water or serious hiking. They are cheap but stylish. Made like a glued Nike sneaker. They aren't worth anywhere near $300 including tax. Of course, I didn't pay anywhere near that.
