Fleet helicopters do not have this anymore and now have a bell - 212 in their fleet to replace this helicopter after it crashed fighting fires in the Bega Valley N.S.W
I picked up Lachie after the crash & fly him home. Sad to see her a month later all banged up...but an amazing escape story & so glad to still have Lachie with us.
Colour: Amoxicillin (Antibiotic) for kids (my childhood trauma 🤢... I can still see my mom standing in front of me with a spoon filled with that pink stuff, pleading with me... 😢) Same colour seen here in the form of a helicopter... 😄 That's better! 💓
Amazing how many comments are about the color. If the Huey was great in service for providing, rescuing and supporting troops, then it’s damn well suited to do the same in the fight against Breast Cancer. 👍 Send it!
The Pink Panthers in Vietnam were mostly Cobras once the Charlie Models were phased out. The Panther in the nose-art was pink. The aircraft were a beautiful olive green.
I like it! If I could, I’d paint one a deep pinkish purple plum color with lighter pink and dark blackish silver flame strips, and the bottom all dark blackish silver. I’d paint it in the same style they do low riders. I’d have pink fuzzy seats and silver chrome and all that. Just a dream though. 😌
Lovely color unseen before in any other helicopter, it makes her details even brighter and contrasted, Also, it seems to be promoting a campaign against breast or another kind of female cancer because of the ribbon painted on the rear right side of the fuselage. Lovely color.
I beg to differ... in the mid-80s, there was a TV series called "Riptide" that featured a Sikorsky chopper in almost exactly the same pink. Ane I used to own a 1972 Beetle in exactly the same pink too
The Pink Huey came from borneo before arriving in australia i was told! it's original colour for years was white with green and orange stripes down the fuselage!
