SHO Kona, I was thinking the same thing thoughout the flight. His inputs were erratic and looked to be less intentional, but rather more reactionary. Glad nobody was hurt.
Saw a guy in Illinois crash a Euro fighter into the runway .while his are still cleaning up that mess (he didn't even bother to check it out) he went to his panel van and pulled out another one. Now that's money 💰
I've been flying rc for several years now and have wrecked in exactly the same way. He let his plane get below the horizon of the trees and lost orientation for a split second then guessed wrong.
he almost crashed nearly 2 times before this final crash because he was flying too erratically and too close to the ground. Not sure if he clipped the tree or over corrected but still far too dangerous for a plane of this size. He's lucky he didn't crash this into the crowd and hurt someone.
Flying low is different from almost crashing.... a lot of people will fly as low (and even more) than him, it require skill and you must be a little crazy :P
as a rc pilot and real plane pilot spotted that right away, only cockie people do that violating rules. Got what he had coming. Lucky crash happened after and not into crowd.
Yes, that low level high speed flight towards the spectators kinda scared me also. It’s been a while since I’ve flown r/c, but to much can go wrong with a maneuver like that. 😱
O.M.G!! Even the crash impact, billowing smoke plume and fire was to scale!! If the modeller had of ejected the scale pilot 3 feet from the ground - I'd say that would be about the best realism you could ever get!! (Btw - sorry about your $35K)
Not necessarily. Half decent turbines with sizable thrust outputs start from £2-3k and go up to £10k... each ($25k in total), and hes got 2 of them. If hes built an exotic airframe, ie a lot of carbon fiber etc, it's not going to be far off $35k
Luck was on EVERYONE'S side there. Imagine flying that into those tents full of onlookers? You're not running that burn under cold water. Nice flying "Maverick"!
Michael Lipousky Not me. Anyone foolish enough to spend $35,000 on an RC plane is only hurting themselves. The saying in the rc community is it’s not if your plane crashes, it’s when your plane crashes. No sympathy as a fool and his money soon separates .
Afterburner- I happen to be part of the RC community. I will correct you on the saying. The saying is they all have an expiration date but is not printed on the box. I'm not an asshole like you and I feel bad anytime somebody crashes a model. I don't care if it's a piece of shit foamy like you probably fly.

Pilot error. You can see that the guy at the controls tried lifting the plane after it was coming back low away from the trees either forgetting or not seeing that the plane was upside down. The fancy lift he thought he was executing turned into an unexpected steep dive!
So what you're saying is you were standing right there beside him on the flight line as an expert rc flight observer patrolman? And you didn't nad up and tell him he was upside-backwards with an oblique inversion angle attitude? WTF, man!! You need to surrender your credentials at the gate.
Recien veo este video hoy 9 feb 2019 .pero lo que me inquieta es que el avion desaparece y es en el momento justo cuando esta por encima de la copa de los arboles .el camarografo lo aprecia y trata de hacer un acercamiento .luego de esto sale volando como de entremedio de los arboles para estrellarse .curioso?
I did that once, but just once. When you fly upside down push the stick forward for up. I dove a 40 powered Ugly Stick into the ground the same way back in 1976. Busted my brand new OS 40 all to bits. Hard lesson but my lesson was cheap by comparison.
he needs to have 1/3 of his brain examined for spending that kind of money on something that has a 100 percent chance of being destroyed at some point and money up in smoke

I looked into r/c jets and couldn't believe what the engines alone cost. So with the plane, servo motors, transmitter, receiver, etc. a $35,000 price tag wouldn't surprise me.
Jay Fisher Plus, with a plane that expensive, you’ got the top of the line radio, receiver, servos, etc. probably 5k in electronics alone. Sure filled up that wheelbarrow!
$35,000? Somebody is exaggerating, a lot! Yes, I know turbines aren't cheap, I am heavilly into the hobby. That's why I know that's not $35,000 worth of model.
@Richard Vanwinkle - Hey Rip, I guess you were with the builder when he purchased all the components for this plane. Do some research, Clown, and you'll realize complex jet engine powered RC aircraft can cost this much and more.
@@midwestsirens how do you know that it is a 1/3 scale RC plane? are you the one who built it? (be honest with me) I 'am doing my own investigation into this crash to find out what caused it to crash and send my report to the FAA as well as give request that would prevent this disaster from happening again
He went too far and lost the direction of the plane. I'm sure he had an FPV cam on it, but still that plane was fast and it just happens too fast 🤷🏽♂️. Sucks that a 35k toy is wrecked.
