I just moved out here 6 months ago, went out this morn before work but no luck, I did catch a red drum last week, he was tangled up in line so that was taken off an he was released xD Too bad I'm working 12+hrs otherwise I would have ran into y'all! Stay safe out there and happy fishing xD
Man por doing always the same thing.... You create a thumbnail using the all fish and then in the video you cut the bait... it make no sense... Why don't you try to hook the all thing and maybe you catch a shark?
Let me try again after some more research...>>>LADY CRAB - Ovalipes ocellatus is a species of crab from eastern North America. It is most commonly known as the Lady Crab. Other names for it include the Leopard Crab or Atlantic Leopard Crab due to the leopard-like rosette patterns on its shell, the Calico Crab (not to be confused with Hepatus epheliticus), or Ocellated Crab.
Alright, I'm not holding back about this channel! I get to the coast about once a year at best, and I like preparing for the trip since I don't have much time to learn while I'm there. So I like this channel because this young man really teaches every single episode, not just click bait where you got some "gut over the belt" fat guy smiling at the camera showing you how he can catch fish without sharing anything on the "how" side. I like the Dad showing up, and the respect they give him for his appearance. This young guy explains AND shows you how he does it, with sincere attitude and micro-tips, which could make the difference between a nice fishing trip, and one where you actually catch something. I just love this channel, watch every single one, BEST fishing video anywhere. Hope he keeps the "Hey Skipper" active caption at first, pretty cool. For catfishermen, Dieter Melhorn is the best instructive video.
Even though this video is a couple of months old, I wanted to share my experiences with using both finger mullet and large mullet. I was surprised that you didn't get into any blue fish that time of year, for they usually run hard in the surf in the fall. The first thing I want to say, is with big mullet, I rather filet them, because the crabs don't seem to steal the bait as easily. Another problem I have had with large mullet, is I would get a lot of sharks using big mullet. Finger mullet is a killer bait both live and dead. I would only use the big ones to catch either speckled trout or catfish in brackish water. In water that have a lot of blue fish, I use a still leader so the blues won't bite me off. That is my two cents.
@@HeySkipper In NC it's 5" wide from spike tip to spike tip on the body carapace for crabs, and you should probably never keep spongy females and you can't during April. The one you had is a speckled crab.
A fishing show my friend. Congratulations. You are very beast. I learned a lot from you. It is an insent for me to produced my content. God richly bless your life. #denilsonmaciel
@@HeySkipper How about striper fishing on Plum Island, MA? TIP: When using large chunk belly, we would also use a rubber band on the bottom to keep the bait tight on the hook. 🎏

Very nice video!!, I have a question: I have a reel 7000 and I am going to travel, planning to do a lot shore fishing, What you recommend me to get in telescope rod ( How Long) , for 7000 reel ? i am order this from Wish App. thank you.
HEY SKIPPER! Awesome videos! I've been getting into fishing a lot more since this pandemic and you give a lot of informative tips and tricks. Thanks man!
Hey I was wondering what best reels are there for salt water fishing rn I've been using kastking and I find it good but I'm looking for a bait runner and wanna get more opinions on reels
Nice video! But curious why did you make Erin put her flounder back, and it looked like the same size as yours....🤔 just thought you should have at least measured hers to make her feel good. #justsayin
I really like the right rig you used. In most cases, a bigger bait is the best way to catch bigger fish. Once at the pier, my dad asked for a baitfish and I gave him the smallest greenback I could find. He gave me an ear full but was too lazy to get his one. Ten minutes later he hooked into the biggest snook of his life. He had never been so thankful for one of my pranks before or since.
What part of OBX are you fishing? I just made it back from Salvo and had summer weather in November 😳. No bulls this trip for me. You should hit the piers for some Bulls. Keep up the good work. Stay safe.
Unbelievable! How did you catch fish when the surf was so nasty? Also your poles are so close together how did you not tangle your lines? You’re a fishing god!
Your a Fisherman but your scared of guts and you couldve used the whole mullet as bait because it doesn't matter how big the bait is you could catch a tiny fish on a massive bait
I am a non-fisherman trying his hand in surf & sound fishing for the first time the week of Thanksgiving in Hatteras. I really appreciate you for carefully walking me through my pre-fishing event training program. I will be happy if I get two keeper drum but I suspect we will do better. We've got cast nets, crab nets, and we'll be trying out the rigs that you showed to us. Update me on the details of the flounder size and whether we are allowed to keep them from the surf or the sound. We ought to be able to score some finger mullet by net and your video here as given me some confidence to that end.
Lol no just grundens waterproof pants 😂 haven’t been kayak fishing in a bit but would love to take you up if we are ever in your area 👍🏼 thanks for the offer!
Calico crabs are walkers, they do not have a rounded flipper for swimming. They are similar looking however. Pretty sure this is a speckled swimming crab...
Very interesting! Do you do it the same or differently from the way we filet the bait in this video? Thanks for watching and wishing you good luck fishing 👍🏼👍🏼
I fish South Padre island, I use medium size fresh mullet cut steak style, and salt the left over mullet for next time or for river/bay night fishing. caught 2 black tip sharks this week on the surf.
I have been enjoying your videos - thanks for sharing so much with us! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 Now.. This comment might create a "stir" but have you tried a Palomar knot instead of the improved clinch? You should test them if you haven't. They are simple to tie and super super strong!
