The Ex Hex is giving me Sabrina the Teenage Witch/90s early 00s witchy Halloween movie vibes and I am so excited for it. That's a vibe I've been craving for so long, so I hope this book is good!
@@hean462 we need more media with that vibe!!! Down with the dark overtones (that netflix loves 💔) and more fun spooky Halloween/ witchy movies and TV!
I read it yesterday!! Was so cute and had a perfect amount of spicy scenes. I want more honestly a sequel would be great! Th ending was a little rushed like everything wrapped up really fast but still super enjoyable
@@MrsRaleighSmith that's good to hear! I've read from this author before and didn't like the book, but I'm cautiously optimistic I'll like this one because of all the praise
I have Under the Whispering Door, but I don’t want to read it because then it’ll be over 😭 I want it to last a really long time. O……m……g……. Max Barry is one of my ultimate favorites! When I read Jennifer Government, I emailed him about how much I liked it and he responded so sweetly. I guess I was one of the first American readers to reach out.
I’m reading Ex Hex right now and I LOVE it. I definitely recommend adding it to your October list. :) Love your channel thank you for sharing your haul!
Hope you like Sally Rooney! Her books are very character driven. In my opinion, no one quite captures the bitter sweetness of modern love and relationships like her. She’s brilliant when it comes to writing about human connection and loneliness… her characters are frustrating but real, in all their faults.
You should probably start with the liveship trader series I absolutely loved it I read assassins apprentice first but I dnf it so I decided to read liveship trader a few months later and was surprised how much I enjoyed it I'm reading the rain water chronicles now dragon haven
Start at the beginning! I loved Assassin’s trilogy and some characters recur in Liveship trilogy! I’m on book 4 of Dragons quartet now. Love having discovered RH thru Regan during pandemic shutdown. Silver lining! Enjoy!
Random but where did you get your Robin Hobb books? I've tried to find the ones with those covers and not the ones with people on them and I am struggling 😭
reagan, if you do a sally rooney redathon, please invite me hahahaha, not but would you organize a sally rooney redathon publicly??? i haven’t read anything by her and i really want to.
I don't typically like literary fiction to begin with, but I thought normal people was boring. Probably half the reason I finished it was because it's so short, but it was a very meh read for me. That being said, I know some people just LOVE it, so maybe the finer details went over my head, idk
Season One of Wheel of Time covers books 1, 2 and links to some things in book 3 so if you want to be EXTRA careful you might want to squeeze in book 3 too!
@@luvBB4lyf when the cast/director did a Q&A the director said it covered book 1/2 and even book 3, but also not all of book 1 as some parts are in season two. I’m going with what the director said just to be safe
I'm usually super skeptical of BookTok recommendations, but you HAVE to pick up The Atlas Six. Amazing characters in a magical secret society *chef's kiss*
This definitely feels like the phenomenon I experienced at the beginning of the year - I got new bookshelves because I was running out of space, and then I had all this space so I bought lots of new books! And now they’re mostly full again lol
Under the Whispering Door is one of my new favorites. It was heartbreaking, witty, and endearing all at once. The characters were so lovable, and I think everyone should read it!!
If you’re looking for another cozy romance with witchy vibes, I’m halfway through Black Witch Magic by Mila Nicks, and I’m loving it. It’s set in a small town where we follow Selene who works in a library and also happens to come from a family of witches who have been cursed. The women of her family are all doomed to never leave the town and have terrible tragedies afflict any man they become involved with. Selene meets Aiden, the skeptical and sarcastic co-host of a popular show that investigates paranormal happenings. Of course, sparks fly when they meet, and the story so far is completely perfect fall vibes with books, coffee shops, home-brewed potions and possible love.
Circe totally stole my heart. I read it a couple months after The Song of Achilles. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than TSOA, Circe was just so fascinating! I also recommend the audiobook, the narrator has such a nice soothing voice.
Where do you get books? Especially the ones that are specific editions! The robin hobb books are beautiful! I love evie dunmore’s historical romances!! So fun, you were the reason I got into the series by her!!!
Watching the Ex Hex and Payback’s a witch books I’m seriously feeling nostalgic about all the Sabrina vibes! I’m gonna miss binge-watch Sabrina’s chilling adventures this year on Netflix so… maybe a good play to spend Halloween this year is to give any of these 2 a try?
I received an ARC of Under the Whispering Door and it is honestly the best book I have read in several years. Get your tissues because it will hit you right in the feels the whole way through.
I wanted to love Lesson in Vengeance but the last 20% really kind of went in an entire different direction than the rest of the book! I did like both parts, but they didn't feel like the same book to me and that was disappointing. It had a lot less magic than it was pitched to have.
I’m adding all of these books to my reading list, thanks for sharing! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! 💫 #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser
Apparently the Wheel of Time show will go into book three too, book three is entitled THE DRAGON REBORN and there is an episode in season one entitled THE DRAGON REBORN so I imagine they are connected.
OOOOHHHHHH I am intrigued to hear your thoughts on Normal People, it's a love it or hate it book I think. I had a lot of thoughts but I am excited to hear yours! That was a lot of books but you seem to have a lot of good reads coming up, so good!!! I am excited for you :)
Hooray for Robin Hobb! I'm currently 9 books into the Realm of the Elderlings so I also need to start the Rainwild chronicles like you! I don't know if you know this already, but there is a novella and a collection of short stories set in the same world (also available on audiobook). I recently finished the novella (the Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince) and liked it quite a bit.
It can be intimidating, to be sure, but it's worth it. I started reading them in middle school (book 9 had recently come out in paperback, so I bought all 9 of them while in Hawaii on vacay lol). I didn't finish the series until college, but that was because of the illness of the author. They're slow at times, with a winding plot, but I enjoyed them.
@@feylights166 Yes I have heard the books are extremely descriptive and sometimes slow. But I'm desperate for a long series I can get totally immersed in! And this one is so beloved. I gotta be in it for the long haul though.. haha! Thank you for your encouragement!
In my opinion, I feel like your enjoyment of normal people depends on how much you relate to either character. I could which is why I love it, but I can 100% see why other people don't like it.
Where did you buy the rainwater quartet from? I have the last 3 in the same edition from half price books but I need the first one! And I need those editions!
Ooh, our reading tastes are often QUITE similar but when they're different they are INCREDIBLY opposite. I hated Madison May so I am HOPING that it's your jam haha. Same with Wheel of Time, actually! I loved book 1 but book 2 put me into a 6 month reading slump. I have no idea if I'll continue to book 3, am interested in hearing your thoughts!
i’m in the middle of reading “all the light we cannot see” and already purchased “cloud cuckoo land”. can’t wait to have read both i hear a lot of good things about both
Did I miss you talking about Fitz and the Fool in a video?? I have been waiting for your thoughts on those and did not realize you were already reading it!
@@PeruseProject The fitz and the fool trilogy is the last trilogy of the series! I think you confused it with The Tawny Man trilogy? It's just before The Rainwild Chronicles. Really excited to have your thoughts on Fool's Fate!!
@@kindofinsanity wait, you totally are correct! Hahaha. I think she does mean Tawny Man, and so did I for that matter. I was waiting for her thoughts on Tawny Man, especially the third one. Thanks!
