Those bookshelves are gorgeous! I’ve watched your videos since I was 16, and my love for your videos has grown ever since. Hope you’re doing well Jesse.😊

fun duology recommendation, that i haven't seen anywhere! The Queen's Rising Duology (second book: The Queen's Resistance). It is a calm fantasy, with scenes that literally left me SHOOK!! the romance is more evident in book two, cause the love interest is given his own POV chapters, but the entire duology is about self-recognition, and Brienna (main character), finding where she belongs. it may be a little slow at the beginning, but as soon as pg 58 comes... *choo choo* climb aboard the adventure express! if you want, you can read the first book on it's own, but my favorite is Queen's Resistance! ENJOY!!
This is a compliment: you add caffeine personified. Also, if you are looking for educational historical fiction, “We are Not Free” by Traci Chee is awesome!
"I can never have too many beautiful journals" - Jesse George 2021. I can relate, I literally have a tub filled with journals, and a drawer filled with journals.
Your video just reminded me of books that are lost in my TBR Village!! 😅😅 Also I have been drowning in Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. I am halfway through. It's getting interesting! I can't seem to read any faster though. I feel so exhausted sitting around and doing nothing all the time !!!
One of my favorite memoirs is In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park. It is about how she escaped North Korea and her struggles making it to South Korea. Also Under the Same Sky that follows Joseph Kim who fled as well. Both of those were amazing!
I always get soo excited when you upload a new videoo :) And I really do love the white bookshelves, it brightens up the whole "image" so much :) Plus I'm pretty sure the black shelves needed a looot of dusting ^^
I’m so excited for the Anthropocene Reviewed booksplosion! Finally a book I’ve read 😂 and a video I can watch live! I’m so slow when I read that I never finish books in time for the live show 😂
I recently got the Tiger's Curse saga and also George Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm too. I was able to go to my local bookstore and get ten books including five hardcovers for 39 dollars. It was amazing
Yeah, I went into The Poppy War completely unprepared and oof. I mean, it was a five star read but you definitely need to be emotionally prepared. I just finished White Smoke by Tiffany D Jackson and now I'm reading The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova.
I saw you mention it on your Instagram when you wear talking about memoirs, but Jesse you would LOVE Crying in H-Mart. It’s so amazing and the writing is fantastic. I’ve been reading it at work when we are slow and I’m in love.
The Devil Makes Three and The Wolf and The Woodsman are STUNNING! I LOVED The Anthropocene Reviewed, and I do plan on going to the Bookspolion live stream!
So excited you received the Night Circus box. This is my favorite book it has so many good quotes. I was bummed that I missed out on the box. It was sold out by the time I got it in my cart. Enjoy!
Ive read the wolf and the woodsman and i'd highly recommend it ~ the main two characters are really interesting there's a lot of discussion about belief and belonging, and the writing is ☆ gorgeous☆
@@jessethereader i hope you do! But ksksdn pls don't worry if you dont \●▪︎●/ (also idk if this bonus or negative points for you but its a standalone fantasy '◇')
"yes I did have too much coffee before filming this video" bahahhaa ME EVERY TIMMEEEE... the coffee is probably what gives me the inspiration to film in the first place lolol
Nice haul! I recently picked up Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh, because it's one of my favs. Also People we meet on vacation by Emily Henry, which I'm currently reading and really loving
I would recommend Bomb by Steve Sheinkin. It’s a Nonfiction book about the Manhattan Project, but it doesn’t feel at all like a boring text book. It’s really interesting! Thank you for another amazing video that makes me feel inspired to go read!
Book boxes are mostly cool art stuff of books Jesse hasn't read yet. And I want the Illumicrate boxes so badly but the waiting list is killing me! I'm currenlty reading The Dark Elements series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Know My Name by Chanel Miller and Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson are excellent if you're looking for more memoirs. I also loved She Who Became the Sun, The Wolf and the Woodsman, and The Anthropocene Reviewed :)
Loved the video!♥️ Btw in pin in 9:42 says in Hebrew "true", I searched and the author of The wolf and the woodsman is actually German so this is interesting
Holy Saints ! Bookish Trading Cards would be AMAZING 🤩 someone needs to start that ! I love your vids so much Jesse, I have been watching for years and you just bring joy to everyone in every video ❤️❤️
I mean, I haven't read it yet, but a nonfiction I am interested in is Smoke Gets in Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty. I know you have an interest in books about death, so this may be something to look into. Also, I don't know if you have read it yet, but if are looking for other memories then On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous is a good way to go, or (another book I haven't read but I am interested in) In the Dream house. The first is by Ocean Vuong and the second by Carmen Maria Machado.
I’m am currently finishing two series. I just started The Hawthorne Legacy and bought A Vow So Bold & Deadly. I want to feel accomplished! 😆📚🤓 Oh I also just read White Smoke. Torn about how I feel about this book. Had some things about it that I didn’t like but find myself thinking about it a lot after finishing it. Had things that I loved about it as well. I’m still undecided. 🤪
I read The Anhropocene Reviewed last month and loved it. So much that that I'm going to be listening to the Audio book soon. Dare I say, I like it better than Turtles All the Way Down.
I think you should read “In the Time of the Butterflies” it is a book based on the Mirabal sisters under Trujillo’s dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. I’m currently reading this now and it is very intriguing!
Are you going to read Foxhole Court? It's soooo popular now in Russia but I haven't heard much about it from the American booktubers. I wonder how you feel about reading these books if you ever heard of them:)
Jesse got that good kush in a vial😜😜😜moon flower you say😁😁 I read Among the Beasts and Briars a few months ago. Very fairy tale-esque but I didnt like it as much as I thought i would but that bookmark to go with it is stunning😍😍😍
Born to be Mild by Rob Temple is an amazing memoir. It's VERY British, but it follows Rob as he comes to realise that you can find excitement in the most mundane things, you don't need to go on massive adventures to find joy.
Nonfiction rec: Factfullness by Hans Rosling I rarely enjoy non fiction but this one changed my overall view of the world in a way nothing else has. It basically covers our world view and why it is the way it is. A lot about humanity and missinformation in our day to day lives. ♥️
I swear i have a series curse too. I finally started the Lunar Chronicles books. Read the first 3 in 4 days. 2 months later im only half way through book 4...
Boy you made my day Don't apologize for the dramatics and the energy for a second ( okay it is 5 in the morning here, but still , ive had a bit of a bad book few hours, a few unfortunate things)
6:45 The last 2 lines sound exactly like a lyric from the song Northbound by Grace Petrie. I don’t know how famous she is and the first part is not there but what a coincidence!
Hey I have an idea, what if we turn November into a Catch Up Month, a Readathon where we read all the things we need to catch up on before the end of the year?
The Illumicrate books and trinkets are getting more and more beautiful. I noticed something when you held up the second pin from The Wolf and the Woodsman. Looked like the Hebrew word "emet" which means truth, iirc. Any idea why the artist used that word?
I watched the Illumicrate lives on Instagram and they said the pin is meant to look like a coin that the main character, Evike I believe, carries in the story and it meant a lot to the author that Hebrew be included on it. I haven't read the book yet so I'm not sure the significance of that specific word in relation to the story though :)
your self control to not open those boxes for months, im on the wait list for Illumacrate and if/when I get it im going to open it the second it arrives lol
I came as soon as I heard! And since you talked about needing time, I´d like to suggest the book How to Stop Time, by Matt Haig. It´s honestly one of my all time favorites, it´s moving and beautifully written. And there may be some tips on how to stop time. :)
I loved my book pot it was my first one but my cat climbed up on my bookshelf and pushed it off. It Broke and now has cracks all over it (I super glued it together) but so sad :,(
You haven't read Lord of the Rings?? Well if you don't have a copy yet I recommend the paperback of the deluxe edition. It's grey colored and has a soft leathery texture on the cover.
