Unhauling is self-care to make room for some brand new potentially new favourites. Also there’s no point hanging on to a book you didn’t like, it’s just gonna be bad reminders
I kept a copy of a book on my shelf that I absolutely despised just to use it as an example of what not to do when writing historical fiction. Though, it was completely out of spite since I paid full price for a book that I thought was actually pretty subpar. I kept it for five years where I would just angrily glare at it from time to time since it was front and centre on my bookcase. The moment I unhauled it from my personal library was the day I felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders.
@@TiffWaffleswow! May I ask what book was that that caused such bad emotions? Now I want to read it out of curiosity😂My version of your experience would be Adulterio by Paulo Coehlo (don’t know its translated title). Just nothing made sense and the story was so pointless and ridiculous and you could tell that the female protagonist was written by a man because of how absurdly she acted and how her thought process was. I think it was the first book I hated, before even knowing printed books could actually be bad. Little did I know lol
I personally believe that what you said about supporting Dominican authors can also be seen as passing the book so that someone who loves it can find it and recommend it to more people, that way the author becomes better known. I think it's a good way to see it. Even with the books that were given to you, I think people would feel better knowing that the book is in the hands of someone who loved it and not that it is a burden on you 💜
@july3817 they sent people they work with their whole monthly selection (6-8 books), so a lot probably ended up with books they would have never picked up for themselves. From what I saw, they stopped doing that
this video reminded me of Chloe unhauling books when she reached a new chapter of her life, so when you said "its character growth" I was like yes mam 💕
I have been using the library more before buying books just because I rather buy a book that I enjoy versus wasting my time and money with reading a book I did not like.
this feels so therapeutic to watch! i spent my day clearing DMs, photos and just taking the day off to care for myself. this week has been rough but i can't wait for it to end (and this month too). one good thing tho: i have my reading mojo back and have read some really good books lately (my favourites being tuesdays with morrie and this other graphic novel memoir called gender queer that i read for class). anyway, thank you for making my day, bella. i send you, and anyone who stumbles upon this comment, so much love and happiness 💜
I recently I unhauled about 1/3 of my books (I don't own that many but it was still about 15 books). I don't live near any kind of used bookstore, so I donated them to my local library. I love unhauling, just as much as I love getting new books.
This has inspired me to do a book unhaul, for the first time ever!! Also p.s. you look beautiful in this video, this soft romantic style looks amazing on you!
I really enjoyed this video. There is such a therapeutic thing about letting go and embracing whatever lies ahead. Thank you for another great one luv 💕💕
I like MDZS more than TGCF. But if you didn’t like the first volume of the series I would suggest giving volume two a try before calling it quits because the vibe of the story changes significantly.
When you have trouble letting go of books because of their covers or notes from friends, take a picture. Pictures take up less space, can be stored digitally, and you still have the memory.
Hi! I'm a new subscriber and I really love your videos. You're so much fun and honest and thoughtful in your book rundowns. The one book that hurt me seeing leave your shelves was Sadie bc I absolutely love that book, I gave it 5 stars. I don't think I'll reread it either bc it's too heart-rending but I could never be rid of it. Hopefully it'll make its way to another reader in your country who will have their heart rip out but love it as much anyway.
Did my ears deceive me??? You might give MDZS another try?? Omg I genuinely thought you were gonna unhaul it 😭 I personally love WangXian so much. I know you said the writing was a bit rough, but the couple is so adorable and so sweet. (And the story does get dark later on, like TGCF)
I love the way you did this and how decisive you were! I love unhauling books that I didn't love. It feels so good to curate my collection to only favourites!
Nice unhaul. I appreciate the honest comments/reactions. About Frankly in Love - take a photo of the book and say goodbye. I avoided Tomorrowx3 because of the trigger warnings, but then I heard about the plagiarism accusation.
honestly, seeing those empty spots on the shelf is exciting because i can't wait to see what they're going to be filled with later 👀 and i am now eyeing my shelf because ive been too much of a coward to unhaul, but this video finally motivated me😈 _cough_ unhaul beartown _cough_
This might sound kinda random, but oh my god right when I clicked on this video I gasped😫 you’re looking so pretty wth. Anyway thanks for the new video❤️❤️
I think you should give Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation another go. Also, I did not like Wilder Girls much either so it would be an easy unhaul for me as well.
In my country English books are so hard to find and they're so hard to get and when i find them it's really expensive for my budget as a student And i was watching this video and thinking if i have the books that's she's unhauling, i will be the happiest Most of them are on my tbr, and getting rid of books is so hard, but I'm so proud of you cause letting go is a must
I love that top on you it's so cute!! Been trying to find stuff like that, but the stores in my hometown are either focused on street wear or basic items 😭 Edit: thanks for the inspiration I have been thinking about doing the same. Start fresh. I've got a few books just because they were famous a while back, but dont feel like reading them tbh 😂
5:48 I feel exactly the same with The Maid by Nita Prose. The idea it was really good because she was trying to do an unique caracther but she didn't do it well at the end😅y en español da todavia más cringe. DFN por la mitad porque ya dejó de interesarme, cuando no te importa demasiado el crimen en un libro thriller es que va mal la cosa 😂
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED AMARI AND THE NIGHT BROTHERS. i was so suprised because it’s a Childrens book but it was so spectacular and even tho your unhauling them I’m sure that you know I have way to many books on my tmr I’ll never read😂
unhauling it totally fair but you're totally bashing on BOTM lol. i love hearing you talk about books and mixing it up with español. your videos are a MOOD
I don’t think I’m bashing on BOTM though because I would still recommend it sponsored or not 😂 I’ve read some new faves thanks to them I think it’s normal for not all of them to be bangers 👉👈
I also felt the same exact way about On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous and I also gave Severance 2 stars… although I think you decided you did give it a higher rating. Lolol Ohh I loved Orange! It was my very first manga series and I adored it!
Maybe try the Manhua for Grandmaster. It was my first one too, and while I found the books ok, I liked seeing the drawings and visuals the Manhua gave.
DEF GIVE MASTERS OF CULTIVATION A SECOND CHANGE IT'S SUCHHHHH A GOOD STORY!!!!! (or watch the anime of it! or watch the adaptation called The Untamed but obviously they cut out the BL part because it's mainland China)
I got long live the pumpkin queen for autumn this year but had such a bad reading slump so I decided to put it off until next october but now I'm worried I won't like it 😅😂 Also, why is unhauling books so bittersweet to me? I feel bad for getting rid of something I spent money on but also feel at ease when books I don't want anymore are finally out of my house lol
I think it helps to put your mind at ease to know that even though you are getting rid of books that you are making more space on your shelves for more. :)
I personally think rather than re-reading Grandmaster of demonic cultivation, you should try watching the donghua/anime (not the live action! x x x x x)
Bella, try watching the anime of MDZS before giving a second chance to the book. At least the first Season. Than you will be sure if it is for you or not. The anime was my first contact with danmei and things were less "wird". Things like flying in swords for exemple.. Hahahahah
Hiii gorgeous!! I don't know if you're able to read in portuguese, but I really like the translation of MDZS in the brazilian edition, and I think they're prettier than the us edition 🤭 maybe you could try reading it idk
