Huge Convoy Of Fire Trucks Responding To A Massive Brush Fire In Lakewood Nj 3-14-21

On March 14 2021 numerous fire apparatus across from Central and Southern New Jersey responded into the Townships of Lakewood and Brick for a major brush fire. The fire originated on Airport rd in Lakewood and quickly spread to multiple structures and spread to a large area of brush, the fire soon quickly jumped over the garden state parkway shutting down both directions. The fire consumed an additional 3 buildings and a large area of woods behind the Lowes complex on Route 70 in brick. The fire eventually then continued to jump Route 70 and start multiple spot fires in surrounding parking lots. It was an impressive response, Honestly you do not even see a third of the units that were called to the scene in this video. There will many different units in a separate town attacking the fire from the other direction and many more trucks in staging

Wow. When you have to get EVERY fire department in the state for a brush fire, you know SERIOUS SHIT is going down and that they need EVERYONE that's on-duty to get the job done. This is exactly what happens when the fire departments of each state takes their jobs seriously and will go through INSANE heights to get the job done, EVEN IF IT MEANS GETTING EVERY FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE STATE INVOLVED. They really know what they're doing out there.

You have to remember, most fire departments, especially in this suburban part of NJ (that I am from), are volunteer. They are either doing it because it's fun, they want to save people, or they want to be filmed.

I saw neptune fire in second convoy. My grandfather was a volunteer at Neptune Station 4 for many years. I still have his retired gear and helmet. My other grandfather was a volunteer in i believe asbury park. I've kept the volunteer spirit alive in my family down here in Florida because of them. Great video!

This is by far one of my most favorite catches this fire was crazy it felt like all of New Jersey was responding I saw the fire department and Marshal responding witch was very cool and rare for me but it was so quick but still cool.

I will never forget the day I saw a massive strike team responding to a wildfire that had just started up near Morgan Hill, Ca. I saw two massive convoys one with at least 50 engines and the other in excess of 80. They were reinforcements coming in from San jose and the Bay area. They had to use the frontage road that went right past my office because the freeway, hwy 101, was closed due to the raging fire right next to it. Imagine lights, sirens and horns of at 130 engines one right after the other and all of them snaking towards a massive column of smoke so thick you couldnt see the hills that you knew were their.

This was a really awesome video you shot. As always I got goosebumps hearing them horns. I talked back at the screen cursing people out for not getting out of the way at the intersection. Are people just not giving a heck or are they hard of hearing. I can always hear the sirens and horns even blocks away.

I grew up right there. Before about 1985 there was nothing, and I mean nothing, but pine trees, a 2-lane blacktop road, and the Lakewood Airport off of Cedar Bridge Ave until you got out to Rt. 9.

Towns from over an hour away. I was working EMS that day but in Southern Ocean County. I have never heard so many tones dropping at once lol. One firefighter down who was revived. I think in total there were like 12 separate fires in Ocean County that day. From brush, to structure, to electrical. Crazyyy

I take it the bulk of the unmarked vehicles were volunteers? If so I'm pretty impressed by the amount of lighting they have installed into their POVs, lucky if most of the guys around here will put more than a minilight bar on the roof. Also very impressed with the NJFFS running a fleet of brush trucks so consistently configured. Most depts you see have brush trucks built off of whatever old truck they can find and no two trucks have the same configuration.

That were tapping stations from out my way atleast n hr out. Huge convoys of firetrucks staging and moving out. Reminded me of gulf war 1 with the convoys of armored vehicles n trucks from fort dix. We all stood at the highway as they went by waving flags n the troops waving back

Unmarked units are wild like that. When I lived in Orlando I got to see a sting-op gone wrong off of Semoran Blvd and Aloma Ave in October 2015. Led to a chase, crash, and a collection of all involved units. Unmarked cars galore. I got to see a Chrysler Town and Country, Nissan Altima, and the most jarring of the bunch were two Chevy CKs, one in gold, one in sea green. I don't know if they still use the CKs, but I know in 2022 before I moved they had an unmarked Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra and a Maserati Ghibli rolled out for one of the car shows in Longwood.

Why are they responding all these pavement queens to a wildland fire and from i could see everybody was in structure gear, I saw a couple of small type 6 engines and a few water tenders.

The pavement queens weren't there for the woods. They were there for rescue, evacuation, and setting up a defensive. 29 homes and an office building also caught on fire, and the Garden State Parkway and Route 70 were smoked out by the prevailing winds while residents were struggling to evacuate. It was a bad one.

FYI Word of advice next time you film something like this stand back at a distance, hold your shot and if you need to slowly pan out don't try to jerk and follow the truck.

Looked more like a parade than anything else. Brush trucks should've been in the field fighting the fire instead of gone up and down the road. Too bad you didn't have more video of how big the fire was

The brush truck in question riding up and down the road belong to the Incident Commander. He was being drop off to a landing spot to fly the fire. His truck returned to front line while he was in the air directing the other 15 or so brush units around the perimeter of the 168 acre. He later landed and was pickup to return to the front line to check on the firefighting progress.

Come on they act like the damn city gonna burn in hell dont need aerial trucks dont need heavy rescue trucks and heaven forbide they even know what a brush truck is built for guess major cities need to add them to their squads. First of all I guess you did not read the description because it clearly stated the link to the fire video could be found at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dQIqgSzWeaM.html you are watching a response video. Secondly the structural firefighting equipment was needed as four buildings were fully involved as many other homes and commercial properties where in danger. The reason there were a limited number of brush trucks in this specific video was because majority of them were in and around the forest fighting the fire.
