Dior recently had a huge price increase especially on their iconic Lady Dior bags and some other styles such as the Lady D-Joy so I wanted to chat to you guys about what I think about the new prices and if I still think the Lady Dior is worth purchasing.

Damn. Some really high prices. I think I got my lady Dior for around $3k a few years ago in Paris. I have been wanting a D Joy so bummed to see such a price jump!

Wow literally went up my more then $3k in 1.5 years . I bought mine in jan 2022, it was less than $$7k 😱😱😱 dior doesn’t sell well in second hand market too. Love the green dress on u .. not long to go !❤

I wrote this on another video, these prices are making Chanel even more desirable 😅. I also compared the price on the Chanel mini I think is kind of similar in capacity and size to the small Lady Dior, and the CC mini is now 5,400 USD and the small lady Dior is now more expensive 😮. Personally, I would not pay the full price for a lady Dior but I would for Chanel 😊

Very beautiful dress. It looks great on you! Wow! that is a pretty heafty price increase compared to other countries. I would like to buy a D-joy one day. I don't have any so I would consider a small or medium. The small based on the dimensions is similar to the mini rectangle. The D-Joy didn't appeal to me initially either but it has grown on me. I have a Lady Dior in small and love it but if one day I saw one in a colour and style that made it different than the lambskin, I may consider it. It is also crazy how much the WOCs have gone up! Dior has some other WOCs that didn't seem to go up that much like the Caro pouch which has a strap and the original Lady Dior WOC which may be an option for some. Thanks for sharing Xx

I am lucky enough to have 2 lady Dior’s (medium and small), a d-joy and a d-lite. But that will have to do. I might be interested in a small black 95 22 in the distant future but it will have to be preloved. I agree with all the points you raise about them being classic timeless quality bags but that they don’t hold their value as well as Chanel, possibly because the supply isn’t restricted.

In Europe a Lady Dior is still a good price compared to other iconic luxury bags, it’s the price of a Fendi Peekaboo and higher quality in my experience. I’m saving for my forth Lady Dior for Christmas! Wish me luck!

Oh geez, I bought a small lady Dior bag in May. I'm from the U.S. It was $5600 and I got it for $5100 because it was close to 10% cheaper in the state of Hawaii. I'm so glad i bought it even though it was pricey. $6000 now is just getting crazy. Plus tax added on top of that is like insane. Are all bags gonna be $10k soon?! Everyone following Chanel?!

Great video! I am curious as to why a lot of people say that Dior doesn’t hold its resale value because every time I go on a preloved website, the prices for a good condition bag are typically comparable to retail prices. I’ve only seen beat up lady diors, for example, go for a “good price.”

I agree. They used to be way under retail but I have noticed in the last year or so that if you want a newer one with a flap rather than the zipper in excellent condition then the preloved prices have gone through the roof. Especially if you want all the accessories and packaging. The bulk of them come with nothing and when I see a luxury bag that is only 1 or 2 years old with nothing my first thought is has it been stolen?

I still see good prices on the resale sites. However I think the bag in general seems to have become even more popular the past few years 👀👀 and as the prices increase a lot of shoppers are looking for classic styles because it’s safer

Exactly, I was looking at the Dior phone pouch which was I think 1240£ approx if I remember and I went today to check the price it was 1350£ now. I couldn’t blv then I saw n RU-vid about the price increase. I was like damn. If only I knew lol

You can get a new Lady Dior bag with 50% price in resell market, not worth to buy from shop with current retail price then.

Perhaps a pre loved Lady Dior but at this point not a new one. The pricing all around is out of control imho. That said though, customer service and quality are very good from what I have heard a number of times. Thanks for sharing ☺️

I do not have any Lady Dior nor any Dior handbag. If i were to get one, i will look at the pre-loved market. All their popular ones have the most increased. It goes to show they are all at par with all the designer handbags, all classics went up the most. Dior is nice to have but with this price point not worth to get a new one. Thanks for sharing 😍

Many luxury brands have increased their prices tremendously. Definitely not worth it anymore. I’d hunt the 2nd hand market. But who knows, with the current price, it might affect the price of preloved market as well. I'm glad I bought a lady Dior ABC from the store few years ago, even tho the price was already hefty at that time. Luckily I bought a neutral colour one so it's versatile. But I rarely used it 😢Doesn't make sense to sell it either as it doesn't retain its value so ill keep it just because it's such a beautiful bag. I refuse to buy lux bags with price tag over $2k now.

Ugh 2 bags from Dior is close to $10K for me already with tax. Noooo! But one Chanel classic flap is $11,730 currently. Good riddens 😂 how am I ever going to get my dream bags!? I’m saving up like crazy. 💀 it turned me off so much, I don’t even want the classic flap anymore, I want the Chanel GST. lol.

chanel and dior are desperately trying to mimic hermes by price increases, but let's face it most of the hermes bags are still resonably priced and yet more coveted, so they would never be hermes whatsoever.

Hermes bags are probably some of the ugliest most mediocre basic boring bags I’ve ever seen and to think they charge those kind of prices when it looks like something your granny would get at the thrift store, the dior saddle bag isn’t appealing either, the Chanel is too basic and boring as well for the price, I’d take the my lady dior over both Hermes and chanel any day even though it doesn’t hold as much value as hermes and chanel, to me it’s a well made timeless bag that can be dressed up or down and you can also make it personable to you and why it’s my dream luxury bag I’d like in small or medium but will likely never have simply cause I refuse to pay those kind of prices for a bag, I just can’t fathom that kind of money for a bag 2-3k is already pushing it but when you get to 5-15k absolutely not that’s a down payment on a house or several months of rent/mortgage payments so no unless someone gifts it to me, I’ll never have one to the ladies that do have one enjoy
