Hello friends! 🐻🤍 So here is another BOOK UNHAUL! goodbye books I’l miss you🤧all of the books i am Unhauling are either duplicate copies, books i didn’t enjoy, books I’ve read and won’t ever read again and lastly a lot of YA books i’ve had for years. I am still a YA reader and a fan of the genre however compared to a few years ago when i got most of these books I am much more selective with the YA that i read! I am still very much a book collector and will continue to haul books that I am interested in so i always have something on my shelf to fit my mood. Book collecting and book reading are two very different things to me so please be assured i have read a lot of my collection over the years and accumulate a lot due to my work as a bookseller and booktuber! But it feels good to unhaul some of these books and make room for new reads 🥺🤍

I'm 29 now. I got rid of all my YAs when I was 21/22 because up until then I only got what was popular on booktube and I suddenly realized they weren't for me. My shelves were so empty because they were what I mostly owned lol now my shelves are only filled with books I want to read, not what other people say you should read. The Shadow of the Wind is a Gothic Mystery Romance. I think you might really like it. It reads slow, but the story is amazing. 📖

I was gutted when I spotted My Lovely Wife in your hand, it's one of my favourite reads from 2022. There were twists left right and centre and just when you thought you knew what was going on, you'd get a curveball thrown your way. I'd say if it ever comes back into your life, give it a go!

This is my first unhaul video and it kinda scared me a bit, but as you went through your reasonings (and yes, it was chaotic, but hey, it was also understandable) I get it, because sometimes I don't wanna read certain books, so I get rid of them. The last book I unhauled was City of Ashes because I just...I hated the cover of the new paperback. I wish I had the old covers, those were better in my opinion, but oh well. 📖

thank you for voicing your opinion on mismarketed romance book! I completely agree with you on that, every time I see a teenager buy a book I know should rather be categorised as (new) adult I don't feel good.. the same goes for e.g. Colleen Hoover books being in the YA section of bookstores (not only her's of course).. -.- I think it's very wrong of publisher's to market these kinds of books to impressionable audiences as - like you said - it can be quite damaging for their worldviews...

I don’t like or hate Colleen Hoover particularly but I will say what everyone considers romantic isn’t what I think is romantic. Some books are dramatic but they are fiction at the end of the day. Entertainment not based on how real relationships should be. We can’t control wether people read too much into it or not. But yes I like the idea of getting rid of books you don’t want anymore

Hey jodie, I love the unhaul. Just want to say I'm with you on Colleen hoover. I just don't need that level of negativity in a book when I'm reading. I dont really read books discussing trauma anymore. I only read 2, and one was verity. That book broke me, but not in a good way. If you are going to read it, just know there's a twist that may trigger. Oh, and birthday girl was the same. I tried to read it and ended up dnfing when the age gap romance became cringy and wrong for me lol

The Shadow of the Wind actually is translated fiction, it was originally wrote in Spanish. It’s such a good book but definitely not for everyone and the series kind of goes downhill

I would definitely be interested in buying the dark tower set! My husband loves that series and doesn't have physical copies of it. Also, I just finished Fear the Flames after your recommendation and I am obsessed. I am devastated that it's over!! SO excited for the next book.
