HOORAY! Another unboxing! I was struggling to complete my Everyman's Library Children's Classics collection, waiting for a huge sale. I haven't completed it yet, but at least I managed to buy 17 titles that have been on my wish list for a long time. I love the vintage look of this collection, and the fact they are printed on acid-free paper. They are clothbound and have sewn bindings. Did I mentioned the matching ribbon marker? =)

When I retired I had this idea to read as many of these 19th century classics as I could until dead. Ha! My state college education was poor. I was embarrassed i never read what everyone was referring. . I bought hundred of dollars worth of books. I had the idea I would do this right. I bought many Everyman library books. I’m at a craft brewery now with Everyman’s short stories of Anton Chekhov. The main attraction with Everyman is the use of Peaver and Volokhonsky as translators for the Russians.

Reading 19th century classics is the best plan ever, definitely my favorite century when it comes to literature.

Wow. Amazon actually shipped them in a box! With adequate protection! I suppose they do this if you buy this many. Otherwise, they don't and your book inevitably gets damaged. I have returned countless books due to damage, sometimes the same title over and over again. Now, I only buy from my local bookseller (unless it is an Amazon exclusive). Glad to see a shipping success. And the books are wonderful.

Yay, classics! I have read most of these books and love them all! Daddy-long-legs is kind of for kids, but adults can also enjoy it. The story is really touching))

Yay! You finally have Cinderella! Nice collection by the way. I am going to buy the Everyman's Library Children's Classics editions of The Princess and the Goblin and King Arthur at the end of this month. Can you do videos about King Arthur, Fairy Tales (Hans Christian Andersen), English Fairy Tales, and Treasure Island?

I can't wait for you to read Daddy Long Legs- I'm pretty sure you'll love it since you loved Anne. It's such a pretty edition. Robinson is a great story too. Oooo, I'm so tempted to get that book on Russian fairytales. My dad had bought me one but my parents gave them to away younger cousins as we grew older :( All the books and the colours on them are SO gorgeous- the purples, the turquoise and blue ones! There’s a follow up of Daddy Long Legs by the same author: Dear Enemy. It’s the story of Judy’s best friend Sallie Pendleton. After college she becomes the new director of the John Grier Home. I highly recommend it !

Julio Rodriguez all of them are illustrated! Some of them have full page color illustrations, printed in glossy paper, some of them have illustrations in black and white integrated with the text or in separate pages. It really depends on the edition.

Na Li Audrey Beardsley is the illustrator and in my the illustrations are really nice, but black-and-white. They have this medieval style which I find very very cool.

Mam I want to know one thing. Are you coming from a wealthy family? Because you have many books in your home library. I also want to add these Books to my home library but it cost was so high in India. Because my salary is 30000 Rs but only few books cost around 10000 Rs. So I couldn't make it like you mam. But anyhow I wish to buy few books and add into my library. Thank you posting such a splendid videos. In future i will definitely add such books like you mam. You are so much inspiring person and helping to improve book reading.

My World Books Thank you for sharing. I assure you I come from a middle class family in Brazil, which means a poor family in rich countries. But I had some good opportunities throughout the years. My library is a lifetime project. Here in Brazil things are not easy too. I hope you fulfill your dream to have and read the books you want.
