I've built a Platt 1/5 Me-109 and a Vaillancourt 1/5 Typhoon. It's amazing how big even a "little" modern jet like this F-16 is. Awesome looking jet!

Just some tips for ducting reinforcement with CF. Put the mating cross-section on a flatbed scanner, import the shape into cad and print two simple formers to preserve the original shape and ensure the different parts match and line up perfectly afterwards. If you want to take it to the next level, wax the inlet ducts and the fill them with foam. That should get the parts sturdy enough for vacuum bagging and curing at a decent amount of pressure. A layer of peelply will make a huge difference visually and provide a perfect surface for glue. No ugly sanding marks on shiny cf surfaces ... Probably adds another hour to this step of a build, but worthwhile imo on a big project like this.

Jonathan, are there any big differences between the SkyMaster, BVM, Pilot RC, T-One, and Banana Hobby's (also a Pilot RC) 1/5 th scale F-16s?

I only have experience with the BVM and Skymaster ones. SM has superior gear as it’s air/oil and fully adjustable. Between the BVM and SM there are fairly substantial differences in many areas.

Love the jet! Just a small mistake with the squadron - in the IAF the "Scorpion squadron" (105) is a 2 seater only (F-16D "BARAK 2") and not a single seater. The single seater f-16 C "BARAK 2" squadrons the 101 "First Fighter Squadron" and the "Red squadrom" (115) Hope I was helpfull! Keep up the great work!

I think when you weather the aircraft down the road it can only help the looks. I commented in the unboxing that the scheme doesn't trip my trigger. Weathering will probably change my mind

Have you checked the all flying tailplane fit? I’m helping a friend build one here and the retaining grove on one tailplane locates it too close to the fuselage (plus it’s not totally square) there is not room for a servo arm to operate. SM were not helpful suggesting we use a 1.5mm thick arm on a high stress surface! I am having to modify the pivot rod to solve the problem.

Hey Dave. Yes video 3 will go into tail section. This one, surfaces are square but servo mounts are different. 1/8 spacer needed on one side. On these skymaster kits the stock arms work well if the kit comes with them. On this one we are using carbon MKS arms for the tail.

Was wondering how long it takes to build one of these Air craft. On average l know some are more complicated than others.

For me it's about 2-4 weeks depending on what needs to be done. This F16 is a bit more complex as we 1. paint gear. 2. Have to make chute mech. 3. making custom smoke tanks. 4 will be weathering the entire aircraft.

My calculations has that 90.1lbs of thrust is equal to about 9" of extra male enhancement girth, correct? Is that the numbers everyone else is crunching?

So do you CG the plane then when the smoke tanks are full since they will be behind the CG?

They are so close to CG that there will be near zero change to CG Full or empty. Aircraft is CG'ed in Landing Condition. So main tank will be 1/2 Full.
