Bless you Syd , so glad you have got your insulin pump at last. I have nursed a lot of type 1 children and they have a hard time it’s so life changing! Your Mum’s garden is lovely. I especially like her dining table and chairs. The little Flamingo tree is pretty so is the Flamingo Hydrangea. You managed to get some Flamingos in the garden Apryl 😂. Fantastic vlog as always. So glad you’ve got your pump Syd. My son has been diabetic since his third birthday, he’s 38 now. In those days it was the old suck up needles and finger pricking. When he was little it was two injections a day and strict food intake. Of course now he does several injections and has been pushing for a pump. Do hope he gets approved very soon. Please update us how you are getting on; such a life changer. Fairly new subscriber but enjoying your videos. 😀😀

Great news for you Sydney - so happy for you that the monitor makes such a difference in your life. Guys the garden is beautiful, so calm and peaceful. Your mum must be so happy and what lovely daughters you are! Just one thing on those lampshades Apryl - if you paint them they can look great until you put the light on and then you can see all the brush strokes or paint spray lines - trust me I've tried it! You could try putting inner linings in the shade to stop this and that can be successful. Anyway loved this video guys, as usual I so enjoy your company!

What an amazing vlog. Loved absolutely every minute of it. Was brilliant looking around the car boot ith you and your mum's garden is absolutely stunning. It's lovely that you hav made a lovely feature of the food bowls which belonged to your much loved cat and the tree is a lovely thought too. Pets are family aren't they and mean the world. Lovely video. Love your mums garden and love the pink outdoor cushions. Syd that is amazing news you have that. We sadly lost our friend to type 1 diabetes last year he was late 20s and sounded exactly like you used to be, wishing it would go away and ignoring it pretending it wasn't there and one day he sadly died, if he had that maybe that wouldn't have happened. Hopefully one day it will be more affordable either to our nhs or privately so more people with T1D can use it and potentially save alot of lives. Very pleased for you that you have it, your life will be so so improved. X happy Sunday x

Oh my lovely, I have been type 1 diabetic for 35 years. The teenage years were the biggest struggle! I used to not do my insulin and end up in the hospital! I also have diabetic retinopathy and needed laser to treat it. It annoys me so so much when people say ‘ oh your diabetic, but your not over weight!I only just got the sensor, I’m not sure I will ever get the pump. I’m so so glad for you, it is exciting❤ I wish you the very best 🥰

Syd, your story bought me to tears as it is identical to my daughters experience. She was eventually diagnosed with type 1 at 12years old and like you she struggled with the diagnosis. She didn't want to have it, didn't want to be different and tried to ignore it. She also had a needle phobia so I had to do all of fer injections. No one seemed to understand how difficult it all was, the carb counting everything she ate, making sure she had all of the medication, constant appointments, managing her mood swings and resistance to come to terms with it. She is 22 now and at university and very well but just hearing your experience really bought it all back to me. She has been offered the pump and is contemplating it. Thankyou for talking about this and highlighting the difficulties. X

I work with 2 children with T1 and one of them has had a pump for 2 years now x I know it’s such a struggle x I’m so pleased you now have your pump x I’m taking part in the One Million Steps for UK diabetes!! We need to raise more awareness xx

Hi ladies, well first I’m so happy for you Syd it sounds like it’s a life changer for you, what a shame you have had to wait so long for Percy. Mums garden is stunning, I like bunny’s memorial spot and what she did with feeding bowls. You certainly got a lot of bargain for her, love the little table, and you have styled it beautifully. As soon as you picked up that vase I knew you would get it I would have and painted it in white with bicarbonate of soda to give it the texture, I, like you, love the shape got to be bargain of the year, and I. Looking forward to see what you doodle with the 2 lamps. Looking forward to my husband coming home today, he had Covid jab the Thursday before, went unconscious Friday morning they took him in hospital, sent him home sat night and then he ended up back in Thursday with Sepsis UTI and Covid and I tested positive and been so ill. You have cheered me up having a coffee watching your video. Have a great week Apryl & Sydney xx

Omg I totally get your struggle. I got type 1 at 24 and I did the same as you. Always hiding it never letting anyone know and in the 90’s we had big syringes 🤮 I’m 57 now. I got a pump about 7 years ago. I lived in Essex and now Cornwall and the diabetes care in Cornwall is terrible! My life has totally changed. I travel 300 miles to go to Guys hospital in London because you have the right to choose yr hospital. Ask to be referred to Guys! They are amazing! They look after you and give you everything! Especially with your eyes needing surgery they are the best. Please just ask to be referred to guys in London. Good luck. Sent with love x🥰

Hi Syd, I'm so pleased you have been given a insulin pump. It is completely life changing and will support you in, getting good control of your diabetes . My son is also type one diabetic. He was diagnosed at age 14 and is now 32. He has been on a insulin pump for the past 14 years and always says that he would never go back to having injections, as he feels so well on the pump. The pump is definitely the right way forward. I completely understand your frustration about the the confusion between type one and type two, as Unfortunately there isn't enough awareness. You are a very strong your lady to be able to cope, with everything that has been thrown at you. I wish you all the health and happiness in the world. Thank you for speaking out xx❤

I am 100% with you Syd.I have been DISSMISSED by more doctors than I can remember. I would either be in tears AFTER my appointment or I would have a FULL ON,PANIC ATTACK because I was actually SCARED TO SEE THE DOCTOR because he would say I was lying about how I felt, or I was ATTENTION SEEKING . It took me 8 years to get a diagnosis. I am feeling better now . 51:50 😊

My daughter is 40 this October and has recently been diagnosed type 1 diabetic after 15 years backwards and forwards to the doctors. There is diabetes in the family (father& uncle) and she has gestational diabetes with both children. The specialist she saw 6 months ago finally admitted that she has never been type 2(5'6" 8st 5lb) but most certainly always been type 1. Had operations on her feet because of nerve damage. I'm disgusted by the constant denials we had. She's still waiting for her Libra. Well done on getting the pump and good work on the channel.X
