People should be able to understand that you’re eating stuff you purchased previously but also not using some of the stuff you are purchasing this month. C’mon. It all balances out. I like these videos, Christine. Nice job.

Thank you!! I'm sitting here trying to stretch grocery money until it screams. Our rent is up 37%, gas doubled, food up and we've had health issues so in the ER and missing work. Your approach is simply brilliant and your happy attitude while at it is what I needed! God Bless you and your family!!!! Stay safe and healthy! Btw for 10cents a bar, even if I didn't like them I'd probably eat them....wow!!!

Same! Our landlord sold & our rent is about 30% higher now. Luckily it's an upgrade with a dishwasher & on site laundry so the convinces help make it feel worth it but it's definitely a struggle & RU-vid recommending this channel has been a big help. I'm in NY so my prices are higher & my bakery outlet isn't as inexpensive but she's still motivating me to stretch where I can! Hope your health gets better soon. 💖

@@keeperofsecrets88 doing things like making oatmeal & grits & maybe a banana on the side for breakfast have helped me so much! I found bread at dollar general for $1 so we've been getting it right there & doing a lot of pb&js & also peanut butter & banana sandwiches which you have to try if you haven't! So yummy! I've been making a lot of rice & beans too & pasta & definitely utilize potatoes!! They're so cheap, filling & nutritious! You can make them all types of ways. Also, please reach out to food pantries in your area. Half of them don't even ask for proof of income anymore. I finally started & they give you SO MUCH STUFF I'd NEVER be able to afford. Organic meats, all kinds of expensive meats, dessert treats, subs & sandwiches from the store already made, lots of produce, breads & bagels, peanut butter, canned goods, etc. I just have to supplement with milk, butter, jelly, water, juice, coffee, etc :) it's been such a blessing!!!

The Quaker oatmeal squares are also my favorite cereal. And i too, wait for sales. I think sometimes people may get 'mad' about you using something you've previously purchased because this is a position of privilege to be able to stock up on sale items. It's easy to forget not everyone is able to spend $11 on bread, despite the good deal, when they only have $1.50 for bread that week. Now, their anger is misplaced because it boils down to what the video topic is. And like everything, prices vary depending on where you live. I'm in Canada and basically would never see some of the deals you do but that's not what I'm looking for when I watch your videos. Ideas, inspo, entertainment, large family life, encouragement etc etc Keep up the great work!!

I have never understood why people include the prices of the things that they already bought because you have already spent money on them in the past. Great haul of things for under $400 for sure. I think that many people don't shop this way stocking on sale items to use later but it is exactly how I shop. My husband tried to explain that to people and they didn't understand either. We have been doing a low spend for the last two months because we had plenty and we were not eating it but I used the budget to get the lowest priced items to eat for the coming months. Wondering what the coming months are going to hold and we are probably going to use the money we saved in the last few months just for the price differences.

I watch haul videos to see what deals you could get and what things you could stock for a good price. I get inspiration on how I can get the best deals while shopping. If I'm interested in how I can feed my family with little money, then I watch budget meals videos and not hauls. Greetings from Germany. Your videos are great Christine, keep it up.🤗

I’m in Michigan and fortunate to have several apple orchards nearby. For most of the year I can easily get a half bushel of apples for around $10. Grocery prices are increasing, but I’m still finding nice deals with clearance stickers. It helps having a little in the freezer and pantry. A little creativity with ingredients and I can make a nice meal.

I wish I had a bread store and clearance store. Great deals 🤗 No one should fault you for using pantry items 🤔not understanding that? I think people meal plan first and then go to the store.....that's the mistake. Shop your pantry, shop your fridge, and then check your flyers..... only get what is on sale at the store .... combination of the three- that's how I meal plan.... whatever is on sale or clearance and what I have on hand. And like you.....if it is on sale or clearance... and is something we use a lot....get one for now and a few for later 🤗 thank you very much for sharing 😀❤️

Your logic on sales to stock up is good. So many budget eats videos urge people to stock up as their budget allows. It's not going to happen overnight, but even $5 extra to spend on pantry stock ups will eventually add up. The people who are against your methods need to understand that not everyone's way of stocking up is a one-size-fits all method. Thank you for your videos over the years. Please keep them coming. Times are going to get harder before they get better. 😢

Re: Honeycrisp Apples - our area grows apples, and the Honeycrisp are the first trees to bloom - and a hard frost killed most of the blossoms in 2021. So we had Honeycrisp available for like the first two weeks of apple season, most damaged but normally priced, and then the prices shot through the roof. EARLY flowering apple types were affected, so that's something you might want to research to see what options you might like from later in the season.

If I did this challenge this month would of been sooo off because I spent $550 on my fruit and veg CSA (community sponsored agriculture) for the summer. The one I purchased is for 16 weeks of locally grown organic produce picked up weekly but you pay now when the farmer is spending their money prepping for the growing season. It seems expensive but then you realize it is 35 per box and the boxes average out to a value of 45 or more for farmers market produce.

Isn’t that the point of stockpiling when you can afford it in previous months or when stuff is on clearance or sale? How is it not a real budget? I’m very confused that you received comments like that. As your circumstances change, so should your budget. And, you should always make your meal plan to use up items before the expire.

Why do people get upset if you use items that were bought already for the week before or the month before? Saving on the grocery budget has to be planned and thought out. Today I will be out for a hair cut and as I am near three stores I can buy food at, I will have fun seeing what sales they may have for me. I have a little apartment freezer that has some room in it so will hopefully find treasures to fill those spots. It's a form of investment, invest now to save later. later being next week, next month, and when I spend on food next time it can have cost savings as I maybe have that investment to fill in holes. Thank you Christine for all your videos, they are enjoyable to watch and we learn a thing or two.

I love these videos, some of my favorites. I belong to a lot of Facebook groups, recipe, grocery and budget groups mainly. A lot of people don't stock up. A large majority of people shop weekly, biweekly or monthly and are stuck in that thinking. I think that's where the comments about you using stock up items shouldn't count. I have a budget for grocery shopping but I also have an allowance for things I didn't plan for that are a really good deal. A vast majority say well pork is on sale but that's not in my plan for the week. Oh no, if porks not in the plan, the plan is changing or I'm using my extra $$ to put it in the freezer.

I shop the same way you do. I am not sure I know anyone who eats exactly what they buy each week and does not have any left over for the next.... Buy on sale stock up and eat what's on sale the way I was raised.

I budget 400 a month for my family of 3. I do stock pile, but I don't have a discount store near me. Love your enthusiasm!

Those Schweid and sons burgers are amazing. They are me and my husband's favorite burgers. everytime they are clearanced out we get them. Also, People!! of course you have stuff from previous months. we dont' use EVERYTHING in the same month and who doesn't stock up when things are on sale? ugh. People need to chill the Eff out. In order to eat on a budget, you gotta get things when they are on sale to not pay more later.

Love the deal on bread ! I am spoiled by the bread outlet in our area and can no longer purchase full priced bread in a grocery store. I tried a new to me bread outlet on the other side of my city which several folks suggested to me but nope I will stick with mine which is 2 towns over. The price is so low it makes up for the small amount of gas I spend plus is a nice ride.

My dad loves the kings Hawaiian Sliced bread but it's so expensive we usually don't splurge for it but today I managed to find some on clearance and ibotta had a $1 back. I was so excited to get it for less than a dollar.

I think it's great for people to include prices for ingredients that they already have. Also you can omit the prices from foods that'll left in your pantry. It's extra work for the content producer to calculate prices not for purchased items, but for the used ingredients, but it would be great service for us viewers!

Not a bad one, just a long one, and then I come home, and find this good length grocery haul, to just calm down with, eat my evening meal with and just have a little good me time with Christine 🥰 Thank you for sharing, and I love the sum up grocery haul videos 🥰 Food prices and other things is also going up, just paid significantly more for several things today. You should pick a couple of us to represent different areas and prices like email a list of groceries and see what it cost us here. I could do Florida!!!

I bet those crunched up Power Crunch bars would have been a delicious topping for a chocolate protein smoothie 🤤. I also wonder how those would do replacing the protein powder IN a smoothie 🤔

Are you planning to add things up over the whole year and average it out? I’d be curious because of the freezer full of beef. I know it’s hard to calculate that all out. My husband thinks that instead of adding up my spending for the year, I should also factor in inventory.
