I know my father-in-law kept his WWII katana but I'm not sure if his hat is still knocking around. That's about as close as I could get to a samurai helmet. I suppose getting a box of dried fish for your wife is better than receiving one from her.
Thanks, Harold. Actually, you just reminded me. I do have another hat. Two, in fact. I have a couple of those Elvis caps from 1956! Oh, well. Another time perhaps.
I recall buying the JP cds in Hong Kong in HMV HK stores in the 90s and Rock Gallery store that’s still around today. Lps around that time were hard to acquire. The hunt was finding these goodies. Thanks for showing your haul.😋
David, Another awesome video and a phenomenal haul. I am krazy about Japanese Elvis CD’s and albums. Thanks to you, I have some amazing ones in my collection. Thanks again and cheers my friend. I’ll be in touch!!! 😊
Hi David, what a haul of CDs l thought it was never going to end! Really loved it thank you. I preferred your cricket hat. Stay safe. Ellie 🎼🎵🎶🕺🏻❤️😃👍⚡️
Sensational CDs David. I know Love Songs(1999) was released on Camden BMG in Australia. It’s a budget release, along with Take My Hand Gospel Favourites (1999) and Classic Elvis(1997)
Thanks for the info. I thought this collection would be of interest to you, given your own huge collection. Do many Japanese CDs turn up in Australia, John?
Fantastic cd haul ,wow , maybe expand your hat collection 😉 ,I bought something great today at a That's allright themed Elvis day that you might be familiar with ,I'll show it in my next video ,congratulations on your collection ,take care👍
Fab video David, loved the fashion show segment, I think you should make that a regular feature! 😉 what a fabulous CD haul, must have been pricey for such a large amount? Tomorrow Is A Long Time is one of my favourite ever compilations, Spankox one of my least favourite. I don't object to revisionist remixes at all, as long as they're well done, the Spankox ones feel pretty uninspired to these ears
What a great collection - did you buy that whole box from a fan who was selling up? I have been looking for a couple of those CDs/albums..duh, just read your intro, and you did say you bought them.
Got them all from a dealer but they probably all originally came from the same collector, judging by the way most of the obis were neatly placed inside the cases.
Great video David and what a great collection. Apart from the Japanese only releases it took me back to all the CD’s I was buying from the late 80’s onwards. BMG did some great releases. Love those Japanese Double Features,
Yes it is, but David is showing the original version of the “Platinum” box released in 1997, which, by the way, is phenomenal. I can still remember having an intimate conversation with Michael Omansky from BMG and him giving me details of all that was coming out at that time and future projects they had in mind that were coming out, including the whole “Artist Of The Century” releases that were actually released up til 3 years later. Cheers. 😊
Hi David, thanks for another great video and what a big addition to your collection. I guess you need some weeks to listen to it.. 😊. are you also a collector of the CD's based on the different OBI's (just out of interest) ? Greetings from the Netherlands.
I don't bother with the obi variants when it comes to CDs. Just the first edition of each of the "lifetime" albums plus selected other releases. Thanks for watching.
Hi Dave ,a fair haul of CDs there ,they all look unplayed to me ,that mega Elvis digy pack looked really interesting ,and the last two in the box looked really lovely releases ,they all looked great tho a really nice purchase ,am looking to complete my UK double features CDs a didn’t really go for them first time around but they’ve grown on me over the years av a few but still looking for them, love the hats 😂,preferred the second one ,you made ref to visiting South Africa ,how did you find it av not been ,did you manage to trawl any record shops,av one South African 78 ,wear my ring around your neck ,it’s in lovely condition ,it’s on my wall at home ,great video Dave ,take care ,tony 🎸🎶🪘👍
Hi Tony. Yes, most of the CDs were as good as new. Very nice set. I went to SA back in 2001, but I wasn't collecting records at the time. I visited plenty of stores that sold CDs but only new ones as that was connected to my job then - selling CDs. SA was pretty scary, to be honest. My then business associates told me to go everywhere by taxi and to never venture out alone. On my last night, I handed a few postcards to a client for him to post for me to friends and family overseas and he put them in his briefcase. He emailed me a few days later to say his briefcase had been stolen from his car.
Hi Dave ,selling CDs must o been a canny job ,did you work for a company or yourself ,av never had a urge to go to South Africa heard too many stories me cousin used to work over there as a scaffolder ,he said the money he was on was great but it was a dangerous place ,am a paramedic in the ambulance service in Newcastle where I live am part time now in me 39th year ,we had a paramedic working from our ambulance station and he was from South Africa ,a nice kid ,he’s moved on now to another department but he told me some hairy stories about crewing an ambulance in that country ,not for me mate ,take care Dave ,Tony
@@tonyjones622 Hi tony. I worked for a company based in Berkhamsted. They released budget CDs on a couple of different labels. If I'd known about SA before going, I might have tried getting out of going there but our customers took great care of us. Paramedic sounds a bit too exciting for me, but it must be rewarding at times. One of them saved my dad's life a few years ago. Cheers, Tony.
@@ElvisPresleyInJapan nice to hear that bout ya dad Dave ,a couldn’t do anything else now been doing it so long ,it’s rewarding but intense ,take care ,keep up the great videos Dave 👍🎶
