Island Born is 👍. My family is from Jamaica, my husband's family, Native Alaskan and then there's more so YES, these books and conversations are important.

My daughter asks me why we homeschool so I’m getting those books for her even though she’s 4!!! My older kids asked for us to homeschool and they said if you can’t can my in laws homeschool them so I told them that I would speak to them about either option and our youngest at the time was 7 year old twins and we decided to homeschool them together and they encouraged me that it was possible for us to homeschool!!!the dry ease math books looks awesome!!! We love books on our local island nations!!! My older kids make their own unit studies with my help like I did as a kid!!! We love our German books!!!

My son is in K but he is reading at a second grade level and we have been loving All About Reading -- best reading curriculum ever!

@@lifewithginab I just watched another one of your videos where you said you use crack the code or break the code -- anyway if all about reading did not work, my next choice was gonna be that system LOL Great minds think alike. My daughter struggled with our decision to homeschool last year when we started. I found the Mama why am I homeschooled book and was planning on getting it for her at the start of this year. Thanks for the reminder!

We're down in South Texas so snakes are as common as ants lol We have about 4-5 types of poisonous snakes down here but I run from them all! 😂

I have made so many book outlet orders lately lol My husband has kindly asked me to slow down... which I will, given that once homeschool year ( aka when I start record keeping, so our official start ) starts, I should be ready for everything except the books we will get at the library and all my Christmas gifts that are books ( gotta justify the purchases somehow lol ) !

@@lifewithginab I always have a defense lolll We live in Quebec and the area we are in has next to no english selection at our libraries, so.... voilà I have to order new books when I can, and whenever Im in Ontario at a Costco I am right in that book section! Indigo can be pricey if thats the only place I look, so book outlet makes all the book buying more digestable for the budget lol

@@mommysgotabookobessession 💯 indigo can be very pricey! Book outlet is the way to go! I've been to Quebec city and Montreal... hoping to visit with my kids one day... I am like 3.5 hrs from Montreal :) and yes Costco always sucks me in to their book section 🙃 😅

I know you like good and beautiful, I seen some other reviews that their research in the creating of the lessons are not all accurate. Do you trust the info that your kids are learning from the good and the beautiful?

My kids are learning 1000% ... i know that some curriculums just dont work for some families so everyone has to find what works best for them... what reviews have you watched that their research in the creating of the lessons are not accurate? I would really like to see those videos if you could share :)

@@lifewithginab yes it was someone named Abeeka I forgot the last name. It was here on RU-vid. But I just seen another review where she broke it down a lot and I think it would work for my 11 year old but not for my son. He has ADHD. And he struggles in reading. I’m having to reteach letter sounding and I’m looking for something for him in that area. Also something that has dictations. I’ve just learned about that.

@@kushtyler1614 yes different curriculums work for different kids. I would try researching and seeing what other moms use for kids with ADHD and go from there. I hope you find a curriculum that works :)
