I don't think the BOE will jump to reduce rates. A high exchange rate will keep inflation suppressed. The BOE will be more interested in seeing how the economy is going. I definitely noticing a slow but sustained build up in property's for sale that are not shifting... So the cost of homes and thus mortgages is a drag

If you mean abortion rights when you refer to healthcare then bear in mind its number 8 on voters list of importance. One hell of a lot of Americans dont like the idea of snuffing out a fetus. Its a reasonable viewpoint. Project 2025? Who can blame him after the resistance he received last time. Much like our Blob.

Interesting! I'm sure it will incentivise the BoE to cut the rate. I was thinking about applying for the USA Green Card Lottery to win permanent residency, however I probably have a one in a million chance of winning, however I will have a go! I went to New York recently and the border guards seemed to become a lot nicer when they noticed I had the Amex gold charge card. I'm not rich enough to get the black card, though!

Labour giving big public sector pay rises as expected will not help, will pressure private sector to pay higher wages and taxes while a lot are very stressed at the moment, they will have to keep putting up prices, inflation will be going back up end of 2024 start of 2025 Labour talk the talk but do not walk the walk no fiscal responsibility at all, we are going to pay higher taxes for years to pay for huge public sector

Agree Ive said that a few times, every inflation report they bang on about service sector. That sector was forced to put up minimum wage by 10% of course prices went up.
