READ ME BEFORE COMMENTING: After reading many comments regarding the vehicle with the trailer in the last part of our video. The driver and vehicle were not damaged nor tossed. As he was making a late decision U-Turn, the winds around the tornado tossed his trailer. THE DRIVER WAS NOT AFFECTED and drove away off-camera. We had no reason to stop and check on him because he was fine. We are storm chasers who are prepared to stop and help anyone who has been affected by the tornado, and our heart breaks for the families and loved ones affected by this tornado!
RAW video of the VIOLENT TORNADO, rated at least an EF-4, that developed within seconds that tracked from Winterset, IA to Des Moines, IA. Long-track tornado that developed and crossed I-35 and into Des Moines, IA.

That car pulling the trailer that passed your car paid the price, I hope they are all ok. That trailer got torn right off their vehicle! Luckily they drove away and hopefully had no major injuries or damage. Great video!

I have had advanced training in weather spotting, and you can trust me when I say these guys were very foolish for getting as close as they were! Don’t misunderstand me; it was great footage and exciting to watch! I know exactly how it is. All you can think about is getting closer than everyone else. But you need to think about your own safety and life! No footage is worth the grief your loved ones will feel at your funeral! When I was younger I would have been as bold as they were! It's a good thing Iowa is sparsely populated. We here in Alabama have some of the largest and strongest tornadoes, and are more populated. We have a lot of trees as well, which obscures our tornadoes, and the majority are rain wrapped.
@manfredmann2766
@manfredmann2766 2 года назад
Actually Iowa, is not that sparsely populated. It is a rural state, but the towns are relatively near each other, and most of them have more than 5000 people (low end). Nebraska to the west has some regions that are very sparsely populated once you get west of Lincoln, and it is larger in area, and has a smaller statewide population. I have visited Alabama only once, but I have heard how destructive the tornadoes can get in that part of the country. Be safe.

I love weather of all kinds, however, since New England a few years ago had it's own tornado outbreak with two EF3's, and one EF1,whenever the sky gets dark in the summer, I'm forever watchful ever since that summer in June when I wok to a t-storm, thinking it was just that, since I needed to run errands, and wanted to know how long the storm would last. Image my shock when I heard tornado warning. I woke my son, he grabbed the cat, and since he didn't think I was right, he heard the same thing, then he said I guess you were right. I said firsts things first, don't panic. It's not going to hit here, it's in down town. No sooner was the first one done, we had another one right after the first. When that one was done, we had one more uptown, but it was only small, and damage was kept to a minimum. The warning ended at 11:30 .m. bUt 3 buildings a;; sated for demolition we taken out by the tornado.

Getting that close to a major tornado is like swimming with great white sharks with steaks tied to your arms and legs. Neither is a good idea.

Im not a trained in meteorology ive only studied it my whole life since I could say the word storms. And I did take some classes in meteorology however no where near enough to know half of what I would need to be professionally chasing. However I have something not many have intuitive empath and I can pick up energy and have what some call a gift others a curse pyschic medium clairvoyant whatever you call it. Even some healer abilities and I can see aura, and have extreme sensitivity to areas that people are ill sick injured disease etc without touching them. I also can speak to spirit and my guides who will often give you intel about our lives ...this dimensions challenges disasters matters not yet known but pending and very well known to them and they'll tell me as a warning or just in informative ways. One thing I can not only sense and feel with my sensitivity to energy and idk I just feel when there are changes in living beings environments locations even down to the air pressure...pending earthquakes etc. One thing I've felt since the world had lined up with a energy that is very rare and happens on very rare occasion the whole energy field has been off. Its been unbalanced unstable and bouncing all over the place for years but this year particularly. With that it automatically had me questioning what this met and could lead to for our world. ..and of course even if I didn't ask spirit directly they heard me thinking it and they know im going to ask or think it before I even do so they already started to warn and notify me from the beginning of this "energy shift" its hard to explain to someone who doesn't feel energy or understand what I experience. Its like your whole body all your senses and even additional senses are in high alert aware and kinda looking all around your looking harder focusing on details more hearing more ...feeling more feeling sound smelling things like super senses. And in your guts gut and in your heart or its like in the center of your body right in the middle above your belly but below your chest bone deep there's this tight pulling knotting pressure feeling that u can feel this gravitational pulling n pressure and its so intense when your tuning into something your supposed to tune into...and it is a sensation that is so distracting that it feels as if the time in this world freezes you hear nothing you see nothing you feel nothing except that guy deep cote tightening twisting pulling and you trance like into it focused unknowingly unintentionally without thoughts with actions you didn't communicate subliminally to take but your taking them this pull is pulling all of your awareness senses intuition into it and then it sends these pulses of waves with energy frequencies that come to you soundless smell less you don't think about it you don't try to understand it you just feel it and without talking it says everything that its been destined to do...you hear it loud clear without audio but with feeling thoughts not even thought but now flooding your mind with information so fast so intense so quickly you feel it sense it understand it and can feel it in your core so deep in you ...then you snap out of it and your back in control of the natural humans ways you hear audio noises time isn't still your aware if everything around you smells back sounds back your thinking and instantly with this overwhelming urgency your driven to deliver whatever information you just received to whoever whatever for whenever it was met to be delivered and like a mission a obligation you vowed to dedicate to fulfil you do everything to make sure you deliver it. Thats how this change has been and the information warnings I've felt and been told is that this tornado season will be one if the most unpredictable not record breaking like the Moore tornado but the traveled will be more then the moore tornado caused. We wknt have a eF5 but the storms we do have will have the same devastating effects and results and unpredictability that the Moore tornado bought with it. Small random unpredictable intense tornados are going to cause more damage more danger more tragedy and death then a 2 mile wide record breaking tornado ...so prepare for the year of surprises that will go against all the things we thought we understood about these storms and tornados. It won't be extreme fatalities the fatalities that occur will mostly be due to the unpredictable pop up unfamiliar against what science has taught us fast out of no where unpredictable unprepared sporadic and aggressiveness of these tornados that will result in fatalities and damage...if I could call this tornado season a name that best describes what I feel and been told and shown images off...id call it ..the year of unpredictability . Pay most attention to May into June. May stands out the most ...tornadoes in unfamiliar places to have them too .

The car’s headlights at 3:00 that seemingly disappear as if the car got sucked into the rotation- looks like two headlights popping up in the tornado spinning around starting at 3:09 on the far right side of the tornado then again a few seconds later you’ll see them pop back up on the left side… like as if the car is being spun around inside up in the air 😳😳😳

WOW !!! That tornado was really movin’ too. I can always tell that it’s an EF-4 or EF-5 by how fat and dense it is + by watching the sides of the condensation funnel; how fast it’s being sucked upwards. It was very easy to see that it was high-end on the EF scale. I wonder if that guy with the trailer made it, he drove right into it ? High winds love flipping trailers.

That is scary about the mountain part which is part of the topography in the lower Appalachians further in the southeast and the Ozarks in southern MO, AR, and even in eastern OK. However, even in far western Iowa there is a hilly region that is adjacent to the MO River that extends northwest from Northern KS to NW Iowa (Loess Hills), and it is forested all the way. In fact, in the early summer of 2008 a deadly tornado hit a Boy Scout camp in Little Sioux, IA. People within a 50 mile radius, including my family, in the Omaha metro area, sheltered themselves for hours at the time. That Boy Scout camp is in a wooded area, where if you have never been to western IA, is similar to forested land in states that are in the Eastern part of the country. Eastern IA, near the MS River is even more forested, especially as you get close to Dubuque where the topography starts looking like Eastern MN which can be heavily forested. Bluffs are a major part of the topography there. True, there are major expanses of open unforested land in the Midwest and you can see for miles because of it, but I would be pressed to say you can always see a tornado coming every time one were to occur there. Aside from the aforementioned, stay safe in the South, because I have visited and hiked some of those mountains which are prominent in the northern parts of those southeastern states and the Ozarks further west. Unfortunately, I also heard that tornado alley is slowly shifting eastward.
