Don't forget to mention that smoke came from BOB immediately afterwards and a little lava on top of that . Maybe some more changes will happen this WE.
So amazing to be watching this go through all its phases (so far). Getting to see it start from just a fissure, and the watching how it keeps building up structures. Don't usually get to see these things in the making 😊❤
The subsequent episode began at 09:19:10, but at 09:20:04, a new vent opened in the crater wall, and the lava fountains from the central vent then did not get significantly higher than the crater rim. So it seems that the new vent allows the pressure to be released continuously. Perhaps the violence of this event led to the formation of the new opening. It is really amazing to watch this evolution.
@@The20027 This will likely form a shield volcano over the coming months/years. Which means its altitude will eventually be high enough for the lava streams to reach populated areas. So yes, it can definitely have an effect on people and animals.
@@The20027 Nobody settled in this area because they knew perfectly well it was geologically active. Unlike the rest of the world where they settle every goddamned rift, vent, and volcano
@@DecepticonLeader thank you for your reply....these eruptions do worry me....as they seem to have a never ending flow of maga....not to mention the pressure
@@Levo42691. I'm sure she meant exactly what she said, and her post makes more sense than yours. Volcanoes have been erupting all over the planet for umpteen millions of years. How come you think that this one is any different?
@@smashexentertainment676 Are yall the ones that use dams and pumps to kick the free loading ocean off of your new land? If so, just build a mountain. That seems totally within your wheelhouse.
In 1783 another fissure volcano on Iceland called Laki erupted. It was shooting lava fountains as high as 1,400m. This eruption was so large that it altered weather pasterns all over the globe, causing famines in Europe, Northen Africa, and even India. The Mississippi river froze as far south as New Orleans, and many historians credit that volcano and the resultant famine as a key component to the start of the French Revolution.
Nar was the most impressive volcanos of late, massive out flows, such a large scale eruption filling whole valleys.was the most interesting by far,I followed it daily.
@Wreck and Carey It's already preserved. Think about it. I'm dun here as it really isn't important accidentally stumbling on someone's arrogance that she can show better than nature. I had to say sumthin. All the best.
Is this a sound overlay? It vaguely sounds volcanic/seismic, but the volume level and timing don't match up with the visual events. It actually sounds like a heavily distorted audio on loop. I've seen other live reports and it sounds nothing like this, and I've watched other vids and livestreams with VERY similar sounding audio. Same loop cut, too.
Would love to see that.. Live in South Africa on a small farm.. That would be my dream come. True.. Enjoy and appriacte every moment those of you you get to see it live
Well, not a very good thing! But, if it were me, I'd prefer it be a small volcano, and I'd have a large backyard, and the volcano erupted relatively gently.
Can someone give us an accurate measure of how high the crater walls are now? The height of the ejecta from the first shown fountain is at least 2 and a half times the height of the crater rim. I've heard estimates of the rim to be 200 meters. That would make this display at least 500 meters ( or about 1650 feet) high.
Seriously doubt it's that high but until there's some scientific study/measurement it's all anyones guess which I think these claims are...pure guesswork.
Incredible... Need one of those in my backyard so i don't have to cut grass all the time.... Interesting name by the way, wonder how it's pronounced. ?
All these changes in activity tend to support my conjecture that volcanoes don't change by small percentages but rather by exponential changes, e.g., by 2X, 4X, 8X, ... or 1/2, 1/4, ... and that's what makes them so unpredictable and dangerous. This volcano started out distributed and rather gentle lava flow that draw crowds to see it up close -- but look at it now, a single dominant vent erupting violently! Be warned, at any moment it could become much bigger and more violent - and it probably will. I would not like to be anywhere near it when it blows.
