@@Sharon-rr1li fall with a wind burst mace and change to an axe for a second critical strike dealing massive damage, the mace didn't become useless, it became balanced.
Disagreed bedrock is often on lower end device thus are at a more natural disadvantage especially since they can’t really change aspects of there game as easily since if you’re really that upset just download say a mod or even plugin to get the same benefits
Mojang upload a video saying "why would we make a weapon that can already one shot the warden even stronger? Because, why not." And now they are heavily nerfing it.
More accurately it went from a fun weapon that adds a surprisingly unique gameplay and combat style that can also be used stealthily surprisingly enough that also gives a more fun way of playing into a useless stick that's weaker than a diamond sword unless you're multiple blocks above your target which you will almost never be without a Wind Charge.
I hate the whole "community" thing, because it's usually one half of the community who actually says something smart getting countered by the other half of the community complaining that their toys got slightly "worse" - because basic game design says players actually have more fun when the game has friction
@@jakeoshay not worthless really. its still pretty good. the slower swing speed is annoying, but wont really get in your way if youre using it properly
@@jakeoshay I mean, you can still do like, a majority of player health through netherite armor in the right scenario. It’s not useless, it’s just that people don’t really know how to use it anymore
While I was never big on the mace in the first place, the speed is probably the worst of the mace changes, they should’ve just made it as fast as the axe
Yeah, I think they _really_ want it to be something you prepare, but they already achieved that with the damage rebalance, so the ridiculous speed penalty is just overkill.
Counter-point it's a heavy block of Iron on a stick, not a sharpened and flattened edge. It would considerably harder to swing by comparison even if the axe was also Iron.
@@Arcana_zero_studios Then maybe they could’ve made the damage a little bit better, but I’m just kind of disappointed of how bad the mace actually is, like why would I waist up a slot for a weapon that does more jump attack damage
I think the attack speed part was stupid. Why nerf the damage if you were going to make it super slow. I do think that it needed to be nerfed, but not to make it pretty much useless.
Try picking up a hammer made from an ancient core. Pretty heavy, aren't it? I guess the damage was unreasonable due to the rarity of the core itself, but the speed part is okay
@@TheGuyKevin 1. Ancient cores IRL are super light. This is because they're fictional. 2. Minecraft is a game and not a simulation. Therefore it should be fun before it's realistic. I'm not saying make it as fast as everything else, just don't make it seem like it's my grandma trying to pick it up.
@@sandwichqueen I'm not saying it should be realistic, but I'm saying that the speed of the hammer thing whatever is so fast and makes it kind off too overpowered. What would be a good balance is to make it not so slow, but still slow, and make it have the same damage as it was before. Oh, wait, that's what you said... Kinda.
You forgot the original purpose of end crystals - fighting the ENDER DRAGON which was supposed to be HARD by taking you more DAMAGE and making the experience HARD and making you feel like ACHIEVING SOMETHING BIG when you kill it. So don't nerf end crystals unless it's in a way that only affects PVP
@@zozzledwolf4653 ... the pvp community. Just because you don't care about that part of the game, or just because you _think_ other people don't care about that part of the game, That will never change the fact that people so indeed care about pvp, and mojang can't just ignore that entire side of the game. Also frankly I think it was too strong for PVE too. You just hear a lot less from that side of the community because they don't need to care about a meta, half of them don't critically engage with combat and endgame minecraft gear is already overpowered in comparison to existing challenges.
They complain about everything but what sucks. “Remove the mob vote” bruh it’s made so y’all’s needy asses can get a chance to decide the future of Minecraft, if they started randomly adding mobs yall would be pissed, so shut the fuck up
Bruh........ the community really should have kept their mouths shut. The mace is already hard enough to get. Now it's almost not even worth it. Mojang should really bump it back up.
@@magixboi8983 Then again, this is just my stance. You can disagree with me, but I personally care more about using it to fight hostile mobs rather than pvp. I've personally never been a fan of Minecraft pvp
@@magixboi8983 10 blocks is a decent chunk of fall damage if you just move to the side. You could have just adapted. Instead, y'all settled on making the new, hard to get weapon who's whole job was to be end game, suck. If they're nerfing it, they should make it easier to get.
@@elijahford3696 first, it actually 1 shot a maxed player from 5 blocks, so it's even less than the original person commented. Now the Mace 1 shot from 9 blocks, which is still busted, but more reasonable. That's all I wanted to correct, now next to your comment >"10 blocks is a decent chunk of fall damage" you literally said it's an end game weapon, with maxed armor you would get at best a heart worth of damage, not even mentioning there are wind charges, which completely negate fall damage if you land badly ( and its the only viable alternative for jumping that high ) >"You could've just adapted" is a bad excuse for a feature which completely negated all forms of PvP other than CPvP and maybe ranged. It literally was a better sword with Breach 4 and had the same speed as the sword, which made it a better melee weapon than everything we had in the game >"If they are nerfing it, they should make it easier to get" why? Trident isn't giving you much in terms of combat, but it's literally harder to get than a full netherite gear. Also the nerf isn't bad enough to stop it being end game weapon, as you said, so making it easier to get would just move end game item to the beginning of the game, which is just stupid
whats the point of it being labelled as a "end game item" if your gonna make it easier to get? they kinda just contradicted the point of the short by nerfing it but it makes sense. Plus most ppl only care about it getting nerfed for killing mob reasons and for being insanely broken to the point you dont need skill to kill a mob or a player. That would just make the other weapons pointless especially in gamemodes like crystal pvp and pvp in general, thats not really balanced in every aspect of the game (then people will complain how boring the game is lol)
In my opinion. I think the mace should be still doing more damage the higher you fall like back then, just reduce the average damage you get from that height.
It does still do more damage the higher you fall. Just not by as much per block. You can still one shot literally any mob in the game if you fall from high enough.
if you think that way, you’ve been living under a rock because you dont know that minecraft actually have influence on people, unlike “league of leagends”, it might be a block game but it is engrave in many peoples memories 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
@@MrFilgueiras.They don't die of fall damage since they had common sense and used a wind charge, they use the shield to protect themselves against your feeble attempts at punishing their whiff, and kill you with a sword, mace user won.
@@Id-zk1tzthe attack speed makes it pointless there's no PVP scenario where you'll realistically be 15 blocks up without getting either bowed or crystaled either, and in PVE just hitting things with a sword is straight up faster.
@@Pigismal there are actually plenty of of ways to be multiple blocks above someone quickly. Breeze balls, ender pearl, breeze +pearl combo, elytra, trident with riptide, wind burst (mace has been updated so it can actually work) everyone keeps thinking the mace can only work if you tower up and completely forgetting about so many different items
nerfing anything in a sandbox game has got to be the stupidest thing Ive ever seen. A lot of ppl play solo why the hell do you nerf this rare of an item let alone anything at all. Servers have complete control of what items are in their server and with enough configurability they could nerf or get rid of the mace on their own pvp server. Its genuinely dumb as hell.

@@delfinner2212isn't that the whole purpose? It negates fall damage because you need to pull off that feat for it to work. Not all weapons should be the same yk.
That why we only get good things from mods, since every 6 months ( every time minecraft have a updade thet add something ) someone complains and they make it useless, congrats to everyone
This comment is a clear evidence that not only Mojang and Microsoft's Management for Minecraft can ruin/ruin the game, The community can do that too if some stupid people whine about features that work as intended.
I love how people complain about the netf and don't understand a single thing about it, it was OP and now a little bit less OP, still as strong as it were, but yeah, community would be crying in tears on their knees that it's "useless" or "not worth it anymore". Your opinion doesn't matter, if you don't even understand how it works XD
The problem is they put multiple nerfs that address the same problem, if a weapon deals too much damage either nerf attack power or speed, not both at once .
The problem of the mace is that it eclipsed every other weapon, damage greater than an axe, anti armor properties, a mobility only rivaled by the riptide trident. The nerf made the mace a tool, it's not correct that a tool deals more damage than an axe faster than it, so they nerfed the damage, it's also not fair that an item with Oneshot potential is as fast as a sword so they nerfed the speed. The mace can still Oneshot everything, the mace can still go through armor, The mace can now be used with other weapons. If you miss the mace crit, change to a sword to defend yourself. You landed a wind burst mace crit? Change to the axe for another crit as a follow up. Need to gain altitude for the Oneshot potential? Use a trident, wind charge or elitras. Need to gain altitude to use the elitras? Use wind burst and fly. The mace is a TOOL and as such it should be used like one.
@@JonasJonastar is that fun to you? i wanna bounce on a wither high in the air and kill him that way. i wanna jump from build height to bedrock and one shot a warden whilst taking no fall damage. THAT is fun
It's minecraft I really don't see a problem with that. The only people that complained about the mace take the game too seriously. Most of them complained about pvp as if its call of duty.
it's Minecraft, it's super super easy, and we get basically no rewards for getting to endgame apart from the ability to glide, not even fly controllably, just glide, they really need to actually reward players for beating the game
Why? You gotta nerf speed or damage you cant do both like this. It's doing less than a diamond sword while being so much slower as to be basically unusable. Before it still would've had to compete against the sword pretty harshly doing similar damage (less for netherite because why not I guess) but against an axe which is faster and does more damage it's just not worth it
@@DodgeThatAttack it's a one trick pony now you get 1 good hit then it's immediately swith to another weapon...sounds boring and not worth taking up 2 slots
@@zozzledwolf4653 well that's your opinion, but that's exactly what it's supposed to be used for. Or you could get creative, use windburst to maintain high ground. Use invis to get a sneak attack without even being noticed. You could use a slime block launcher, or wind charges, or a boat ladder or an elytra. Realistically it doesn't really matter much since most enemies are gonna get one-shot from a just a few blocks up anyway
Mojan just went form completely game breaking weapon to just another usless sh*t no one is gonna really use just like the trident. They havent made anything actually exciting (equipment wise) for a long time (even netherite was trash) and i dont know if that has to do with how the game is structured making it difficult to welcome a change or they are just incompetent but if i had to guess I'd say the latter
This is just completely wrong. Tridents aren’t used as weapons but they still have good uses the reason for that is that the trident isn’t supposed to replace the sword like you guys hear the word weapon and assume that it’s another sword. Its the same situation with the mace using a mace as a sword is stupid your meant to use it along side the sword the mace being a good what to deal a lot of early damage and the sword being used to finish the job
There's room for a middle ground whether or not you choose to see it. The mace is still the strongest weapon in the game, its just no longer so free that you would never use another weapon. If your idea of fun is for everything nearby to instantly collapse, and your idea of useless is 'situational' then please leave your game design opinions at the door. Also netherite armor was actually pretty exciting. Doesn't burn in lava, looks different, reduced knockback, actually required dangerous nether trips
@@Id-zk1tz... videogame? That's literally it. Make the weapon fun in the name of fun. ...Just not the perverted view of fun that some people seem to think instant killing everything with no challenge is
To everyone who cried like children over “omg it’s gonna be so over powered!!” (clip of someone jumping off 400 blocks and killing the warden) good job, you ruined the fun
It was indeed over powered now the mace is an actually fair weapon the reason you say it’s useless is because you use it to replace a sword which is stupid ☺️
I cannot believe they just nerfs mace all because they listen to community and not the fan it self i fell like this is just a begging a down fall of Minecraft 😞😭
It was never meant to be used alone. It is a high risk high reward sidegrade that is still very capable of instant killing and breaching armor. Y'all are just too comfortable with the OP version of the weapon that overshadowed literally everything else and required no effort
@@DodgeThatAttack Isn't that what should it be? it's already hard to get it, you can't repair it so when it gets destroyed, you'll have to farm for it again. Getting the heavy core with the breeze rod in the dungeon trials with it being very hard to battle and the drop rates are busted, it should be OP so it is worth the time to get. Also note that armor breaching is useless since Minecraft is a sandbox game, not a PVP game where you slice and dice. You just think of the results, but not the processes and grinding to get it.
@@daikkon5700 I dont think of the process because the way you obtain an item is a completely separate issue to how said item affects the game as a whole. Making items obscenely rare is a stupid and barely functional way to balance a weapons strength. all it means is the weapon is unfun levels of OP to use and unfun levels of grind to obtain. The rarity of the weapon should be adjusted to meet the strength of the weapon, not the other way around. Having a consistent way of obtaining the mace with some skill/equipment is gonna be preferable to just having someone sit in a lootbox for hours until it eventually drops. If you arent gonna use breach for PVP, then it just means your weapon that was already gonna one-hit the much weaker enemies can be enchanted with density to do EVEN MORE damage. Im also just much less concerned about PVE since the endgame is already ridiculously easy with current gear, but giving someone a weapon that outclasses netherite in every aspect just because they got lucky is bad design in both cases and really trivialises the mid-game. also you can 100% repair it because mending exists in the game. its literally the primary way of repairing things in the game.
You're acting like it can't achieve all the same things, just now requiring an existent amount of effort. It's a high risk high reward sidegrade that can pierce armor, not netherite sword+1
If you consider the strongest weapon in the game that is still capable of instant killing and has the breach enchantment "nerfed to the ground" then I am severely sorry for you
Minecraft Comunity: “Erm, the mace is so unbalanced. We need to nerf it!” After Nerfing Once: “Erm why did they nerf it? They ruined the game!” After a while: “Why hasn’t Mojang nerfed the mace again? It’s still so unfair!” After another nerf: “God Mojang keeps ruining their game! They should just remove the mace!”
“Should this weapon that people can only get from a rare structure that spawns hidden underground and doesn’t even give the right materials 100% of the time be powerful? nah make it worse than a diamond sword”
Wyo? The mace literally required those changes. It used to one shot max enchanted netherite players from 5 blocks up. There is no "counter" around that. The whole gimmick was to do damage from further up, not as a competitor to the sword.
"Not useless" -Harder to get than a diamond sword -Slower than an axe -can't have both of it's unique enchants at once anymore -deals the same base damage as a stone sword -it's one gimmick, is now objectively worse than just using a sword due to the damage scale being completely screwed over Remind me how its not useless compared to a typical diamond sword?
@@brimfire7536 when was the last time your netherite sword one shot a full netherite player from 9 blocks? When did your sword get the breach enchantment? It is designed to be a sidegrade to complement your main weapon, not the only thing you ever use because you like dropping nuclear bombs on your enemies.
@DodgeThatAttack The thing is that the only point to the mace now is if you sneak up on your friends otherwise it's pretty much useless it's not a side weapon because it's completely useless in pvp
@jellydem1441 Yeah, on bedrock it's still solid but windburst on java is just a cool feature it doesn't change the fact that outside of a few very specific scenarios it's pretty much useless
I don't think the last one is a bug, because if the Bedrock people flew up a little, they would be spamming hits with the mace, dealing much more damage
