@@girlfinfishing Jake is healed up nicely after being shot and running around almost normal... he has seizures now so he is on meds for that. He has become even more snuggly, tries to climb in my lap all the time but he is a bit too big for that so I just sit on the floor for him.

The meat is orange because of the food they feed them at the hatchery, where they are raised before being stocked in lakes/ ponds 😉 one of the ways to tell stocked fish vs natives.. another is they usually have rounded off lower fins, from the concrete tanks..

It can definitely be a fun lake at times, but also a tough one. Appreciate you watching 😊

💯 % farm raised and planted. That lake has its own fish farm. Native/wild trout I usually just do catch & release.

@@WinnersMind67 Making sense of fish advisories is a debacle concerning many anglers today. Adversaries of wild fish consumption say wild fish could have unsafe concentrations of methyl mercury. Adversaries of farm raised fish say the latter are prone to developing parasites, but the parasites pose no health risk as long as the fish is thoroughly cooked. I wonder if parasites were found in the trout she caught? Kokanee salmon fishing is popular as they are a wild fish which has a shorter lifespan and smaller size than other fish: thereby harvesting a fish with less exposure to contaminants in the water. Bass have higher concentrations of contaminants as they're a predatory fish which consumes smaller fish, which possess their own contaminants.🥺🥺🥺 damn those contaminants!
